Can THIS 39 Year Old Honda TRX 250 Still Run Like New?
They don't build them like they used to. We take on the task of resurrecting my dad's 1985 Honda TRX 250. Little did we know we had our work cut out for us. After addressing the spark issue, we had plenty of other things to address. Fixed the fuel, leak, cleaned the carb 3 times, replaced the air filter, fixed plastics and much more. Stick around and find out how it the Honda TRX turns out.

Which mods are on?
@GUTI-ps6oy clutch kit, large air intake, 12 go tune, RPM Exhaust
Love the Highlifters just worried how they would be on the trails. Let us know!
I agree. Gonna buy another set of tires for tails, but a big issue is the gearing. They wind up quickly, and 50 55 is all they got.
To be fair I believe my 570 would do it just as easy
Hello, looks good and well made, but I talked to a guy who had put a nylon sock or smtg like that over his clutch breather, and he melted some plastic parts inside his clutch if I remember correctly. Don't get me wrong, I totally hate the Polaris design about this clutch breather design/location. Possibly that the guy was riding aggressively and I don't have all the details, but let us know how many miles you will be keeping this installed and if you have had any issues. Cheers
What is mounted on the rear? A GPS antenna or a mount for a flag pole?
@fredericraymond648 just a good ol camera mount
Sounds great
@dbromano84 thanks buddy 💯
I wish I could go to places like the but I only got an ace it got like no travel it is still fun to drive.windrock has changed so much in the last couple months if you go back to windrock we got to meet up and go ride some trails.
@Brant-dl2xc I feel ya on the parks changing. Big tire rigs are changing the game. I'm not sure when the next Windrock trip will be, but I'll bookmark this comment, and I'm down to meet up and hit the trails.
I bet that was a fun ride love the Side by side
Nice job doing that for your Dad! 👍🏻👍🏻🍻
@OdysseyOffroad Loving the new Ram good sir. Nice looking truck. 👌
@leterripadventures thanks bud 🙏🏻
Great video! We just added these as an option. Always working to get more product available 💪
@NCBPerformance 💯 Those will be a nice addition to your already existing inventory of parts for the Scrambler 1000s. Hopefully someday I get you guys on board to back the channel. Currently, the Razor is under the knife getting some nice upgrades. Have some more content coming on the Scrambler 1000s. I'm hoping we see some snow here in Wisconsin, but for now, the Scrambler is gonna start tearing up the ice. Spent some time with family and put the cameras down for a while. I'm stoked to get back at it. Hope you guys and your crew had some awesome holidays.
Hi, hey can you tell me what size the accessory mounting holes are? they look about 1x 1.5" without the angled pointed part. Ida figured it would be universal, but some are larger, some smaller. Called RC and they couldn't tell me (call center salespeople). Thanks for any info you can provide.
i GUESS MEASUREMENTS ARE NOT IMPORTANT TO THEM. cAPSLOCK NOT ON PURPOSE.
@GoingNowhereFastBFL i can do some measurements for you, but it wouldn't be till this weekend.. I'm an Otr driver, and I'm currently in Arkansas. I'll try and talk the wife into stopping by the truck tommorrow. I'll keep you posted.
@@leterripadventures well I appreciate that. I've done a little OTR but I got out of it and flying and then electrical after 9/11. Watch the road a lot of idiots out there in cars and the Swift drivers lol. I can't wait till the weekend you don't have to make the life do anything unless she wants to
@GoingNowhereFastBFL what up buddy was able to get the wife to stop and take some measurements. not including the angles it's a 1" by 1" square. If you include the angled section, the widest point is 1 3/4" by 1 "tall. Hope this helps. #leterripadventures
@leterripadventures very helpful, thanks!
That's a sweet go kart!
@@goldentrichomeshydro4260 😆
A guy from Rough Country got high when they wrote this instructions. I’m at the same page as you. BS..
@phillipchan964 right. Their instructions were definitely lacking.
Hell yeah!!!
💯
"too" easy
I agree. I'm hoping I can talk them into allowing me to hit the original.
Use this in Google images "TESSERACT ATV BOX POLARIS SCRAMBLER XP 1000 / XP 1000 S". This thing is made for Scrambler.
You create some good videos and I really appreciated your video on your cleaning process. I have a question about trail riding. I'm trying to decide between a 64" machine and a 68" machine. I read somewhere that Wisconsin had a width restriction of 65". I can't find anything online to confirm. It appears that you ride in several different states. Appreciate your thoughts on width. I don't want to purchase a 68" machine only to find its illegal to ride. Thanks.
Awesome you like the videos. In regard to the width restrictions you are correct, Wisconsin does have width restrictions of 64". Pretty much stock width of most Sxs's. However, most people install aftermarket rims with a 4/3 or 5/2 offset and at that point technically your over width. Now every machine I've owned has had aftermarket rims and are around that 68 inch mark. I've never been stopped or harassed. However, it is possible they could write you up. Now anything wider i don't recommend due to width restricted gates, any wider and you won't fit and they will give you problems. If the rig your looking at is stock 64 and has aftermarket rims and tires wouldn't be too concerned. if the rig is 68 stock wouldn't do it. I've had conversations with DNR and they are getting wiser to machines that come stock wider than 64. hope that helps. In regards to out of state sd is the only state I've been to that has width restrictions otherwise every where else I've been not an issue.
@@leterripadventures Thanks a bunch and good advice. I have WS and SD on my bucket list so want to be as close to legal as possible. The 64" machine sounds like the way to go, as you noted any aftermarket rims will extend it to 66-68". Take care and thanks for the great videos.
Hello, you have stock tires?
@samolot101 yes sir.
I must be missing the manufacturer of those diff braces? Who makes and/or sales them? And also, what intake are you running? Im not finding squat for these machines but I know they exist, as RVS Stg 3 denotes having one. Thanks and great videos.
@RoutaPowerline sells them.
Let’s go you out there at windrock
💯 unfortunately, no. this was from last year.
I would react the same way! Husband has a raptor 700 special edition…I just got a 1996 trailboss - no gears - need to learn to ride before I even think about getting on the raptor
Have you learned yet it’s been 3 weeks ma’am
I have barely ridden it
@nathancurrier5830 got to make a point to get out and ride. Every time I'm out with the Scrambler, it simply amazes me how it makes everything seem easy.
I have a 2020 xp1000s has well but mine black and red just need how fix the tow camber mine is off
@nathancurrier5830 really isn't any adjustment. I would say fatigued springs and need new ones, and shock refresh is my guess.
Are they full Waker Evens shocks or the springs Polaris?
@HeritageSpringer2024 not sure if the springs are Walker Evans. They are holding up better than than Polaris springs. 1500 miles and no sag yet
You missed how dry rotted them previous tires were lol
Suspension setup in first position?
@scrambler_xp1000s yes sir. I Havnt adjusted anything.
Debating on getting a scrambler or sportsman. Scrambler better?
@jul7700 Yes and no. Scrambler is very one-sided in regard to sport oriented. Where as the Sportsman can be used as more than just going fast. pulling a trailer, put to work, etc. If going fast is your main goal, Scrambler, all the way. If you want more than that Sportsman.
@scrambler_xp1000s yes. still all factory settings.
@ hey thanks for the reply. We normally do trial And a bit of mud running but 90% is trial. Have other machines to pull stuff and work with. These are just to hit the trails in northern Ontario
🔥🔥🔥
The scramblers will do almost everything in 2wd

Wow that's cool Keep up the good videos Greetings from California bay area
Will keep the videos coming. Pumped for winter riding this year. That's if Winter ever shows up in Wisconsin
one thing i never did with mine was get a chance to take it to the dunes. it would have been awesome through all the chop i am sure!
You bet. Scrambler 1000s for the win. Just ate it up.
I love the sound of a blow off valve! If I had to take a guess, it’s an RPM blow off valve? Sounds just like mine
You are correct. Definitely adds to the driving experience. It's awesome to have them as a sponsor and supporter of the channel.
good skid plates are a must have. nice job on the install. thats alot of hardware lol
Especially on a 4-Seater things a frigging school bus. lol
@leterripadventures haha yes! That belly drags lol

Hey man it’s Nate from prochnows (black hair) love your videos man I’ve been watching some before I go to bed keep posting more interesting content man!
Hey Nate! Stoked you're enjoying the videos! All we need now is some snow put the mud rig to work plowing through the snow. Cage and skid plate coming next for the 4 Seater
Thank you so much for this amazing video! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
Loving the turbo whoosh
A lot of noise and nothing happening
lol. Obviously, I could have driven right up that in 4 wheel drive. Take it for what it is, just a good ol 2 wheel peel up a steep climb.
I see these 2020-2022 for like less than $4-$5k because the are always blow up with major issues. This kept me from buying one. Can Am for me every time!
I noticed that as well. Started digging into that and from what I could gather is the 850 is a proven engine. Polaris has been running them for a while now. However, in the High Lifter setup, the rig is geared so much different that top speed is around 52 balls out. So, most guys and gals first mods are exhaust and tune changing rev limit and speed limit, make it Faster lol. We all know any 4-stroke has its limits and they blow them up and blame the manufacture. Only time will tell.
from one Wisconsinite to another welcome to the mud game. mud is fun with any machine but when you have one built for mud makes every hole even better
Thanks buddy. You stated it perfect, great with any machine but better with a machine made for it. The wife is super pumped. She is a huge fan of the mud and always had to restrain herself. Not anymore. Told her go ham I'll hold the camera. lol.
That is a really good looking machine! Nice to have different options now. One for mud one for ripping! Sucks that happened on the way home with it. For the money we pay for these things these days their quality needs to be better! I love how you change things up about as much as I do😂😂 . Speaking of changing things up I got something new in the works coming in the next day or two as well haha
Thanks good sir. Shes a tank. Just got to name it now??? Some would say we have a problem. LOL For me 8 different rigs in less than 4 years. Change is good though. As your riding styles and interests change so do the machines. As far as the price tag, 100% agree quality control needs to be a lot better. Not the first time ran into these issues and sure it won't be the last. Looking forward to what you got lined up next.
@@leterripadventures I bought a Can-Am side-by-side several years ago got it home in the garage and thought something looked off after further investigation I found that they had their rear shocks in the front and the front shocks in the rear. Once I swap them the alignment for the front end was completely off because they had it aligned with the wrong shocks in the front so I had to redo that as well. What a nightmare LOL
looks like a fun little spot there!
I'm glad ya decided to come out. Was awesome having a couple peopl slinging camera. After realizing The Worm bellies on EVERYTHING, skid plate is in the mail😂
