    2? Cause of the gap. Or 4 since his racket is far to his right

    the first one is better if you cant move to it. just improve your form. The second one is better if youre at the shuttlecock, but is a bit trickier to do. I personally like the first one more

    Out of topic here, but I've always had a problem with dragging my arm down with overhead shots, especially when smashing. My elbow doesn't stay up, which is bugging me tremendously. Sadly, I don't know how to adress this problem, do you have any idea how I could work on that? I want my elbow to stay up and the forearm/wrist to go down before the elbow does, the way it should be.

    The usual practice was to have the racket head at the height of the net or slightly higher. We were taught this reduced the time to get to the shuttle. So it's interesting to see this new perspective of the racket being BELOW the tape.

    • @badmintoo
      @badmintoo 14 дней назад

      That's interesting. Our rationale for keeping it slightly below (as explained in the video) is that if the serve is good, the shuttle will dip down after crossing the net. If the racket face is above the net, then this will create a natural trajectory of the racket going down to hit the shuttle, which increases the probability of hitting the net. Keeping the racket slightly below helps to adjust for this

    The back player’s shot

  • @richiero0o0
    @richiero0o0 8 месяцев назад

    Whilst I agree that the default grip for defence should be backhand that's not what lost them the rally here - choosing a weak, half-committed 'nothing shot' back towards the attacking player was the issue. Even with the forehand grip, a whipped crosscourt lift/drive would have been a much stronger return.

    Usually the guy with glasses will take it. Front court player has to run backwards and would be less aggressive in that situation. However, it’s not a hard and fast rule and the pair have to discuss their roles beforehand for such a situation.

    Try hitting toss and clears for a few points and force a few ralies. You can gain a good sense of court and shuttle after that. Avoid jump smashes and agressive playstyle for a few points. That is whqt helped me

    Hey Stefan, please could you do a short demonstrating how grip size can affect the grip e.g. maybe get 3 racquets with different grip sizes and show how it would affect your grip.
