That’s a beauty! I love the S&W Model 36 and this is exactly my favorite configuration of this gun. Sadly the 3" barrel in combination with the square butt is extremely rare to find in my country…
Ive been looking for this for a long time and yes I would carry this one, I have a few variations and a 1917 as well , love them all thanks for sharing
The legendary revolver, from the movies of my childhood - the 80s, a very beautiful weapon, I would even say that it is a piece of art and not just a gun! 👍
Nice coverage. I have one and recommend swapping out the trigger return spring. It lightens up the pull significantly and brings this piece up to a whole new level.
I have a mint 6" 586 no dash in nickel. I bought it last year used from a gun store. I sent it free of charge to S&W for them to do the firing pin and firing pin bushing recall work and to add the "M" stamp to the gun. They had it back to me in less than three weeks. The only good thing about some people accepting the newer S&W revolvers with the ugly, leftist-mandated internal locks is that those customers' acceptance of the locks keeps people buying the lock guns and helps keep S&W in business until they come to their senses and get rid of the locks.
By the way, the first gen , 581,586, 681 and 686 (no dash) have a recall due to a poor designed firing pin set up. When they first came out, and when you shot high energy lighter grain .357 magnums. The firing pin could would go deep into the cartridge primer, and the force of the lighter grain bullet would force the spent primer back into the frame, forcing metal fragments into frames firing pin hole, thus causing the cylinder to lock up. Sounds like one of your prior commenters had this problem. Call Smith and Wesson and they will fix it for free under the still existing recall. I just picked up a first get 581 and I have already called Smith and Wesson and they checked my serial number and said send in for service.
These older revolves are so nice, especially if they have been well maintained. I'd love to have a 586. Anymore, however, you are likely to spend more for a nice used one like yours than a brand new one.
hmmm, so you could carry a brace of these for the same weight as the 586... good idea. Can they handle 38 +P? I can't remember. I used to have one that had a 2" barrel and I never bothered trying it.

I found a model 66 snubby (stainless version of model 19) at a gun show new in box. I bought it on the spot for $400. I will never sell it.
Use needle nose pliers. Squeeze the sight from the inside of the slide while pushing the sight out.
This guy is way out of his league. He knows nothing about this iconic firearm. Do some homework man. 357 my a$$

A 3” full underlug. I officially need one.
Awesome setup man. Love the look…does that blackstrap sting with 357 going through it? Holster is perfect.

I think it's worth spending a bit more to get an old one. They won't be making anything like them again.
Just found one in nickel, feels great in the hand. In the 70’s I had a model 10 in nickel, regret selling it.
❤❤❤
I've got a Couple of these G40's 2.5 series and a G26 2.5 series! Like them ';-)
Yes. The baby Glocks are nice shooting pistols. Thank you for watching.

Serrated backstrap, Goncalo Alves target stock, white outline rear sight etc good lord
Nasty burr on the crown looked like
Yeah that seemed significant enough to address with the company.
I like how you took the QR code off. I wish you did a video on that…
The stocks are probably Goncalo Alves, not Walnut.
