They are: -Before I Let Go -Joy And Pain -Back In Stride -Southern Girl -Lady Of Magic -Golden Time Of Day -We Are One -Happy Feelin’s I also want to recognize Robin Duhe and Larry Kimpel, the men who held it down on bass for Frankie all those years. May he Rest Well In Peace.

Being a synth guy myself Korg Triton , Minilogue Microfreak and Sequential Take 5 and Kodoma Essence Mkii and Moog Mavis and Asm Hydrasynth deluxe what are your synths in this video i thinking one is a controller and the other not sure but not sure. Just bought a p bass trying to learn it by ear can bump around to I want you by Marvin Gaye one of my favorite baselines !
That’s a controller in the video. I didn’t use any of those synths. On the recording I used a Motif 6 primarily. That Marvin Gaye song you’re learning is a great start in your musical journey. All the best!!
Anything from James Jamerson !
Working on it!!
I wonder what he would have sounded like, without being a Bot Jehovah Witness Person ‼️😂🤣😂
Thanks my brother plays Bass Guitar 🎸 Lester Lewis Osborne Jr 🌟
@@tboyosborne Thanks man!! I’m sure your brother handles his business on the bass!!
First time seeing your channel, this a great video. Your playing speaks volume and watching you play on this video shows how you can make the bass speak for itself!
@@jackblakk8761 I appreciate that!!
Awesome series first timer . Thanks for the fantastic mix of trivia and composition knowledge.
I appreciate that!!
First time here and I loved this episode! (Total Michael Jackson fan here.) 😋💖🙌😺
@@debracisneroshhp2827 Thank you for watching Debra and welcome!!
Why did Prince leave out the bass on When Doves Cry ? It is considered a classic and was a big hit!
He probably couldn’t come up with a bass line he liked. Instead he put an effect on the bass drum to give it more low end. That became the substitute for the bass.
I really appreciate you solving a mystery that has puzzled me for years! I worked with Randy Crawford during her Street Life tour with the Crusaders. I was backstage with Wilton nightly and had no idea he played on so many tracks that taught me to play bass! Here's a challenge: Can you find out who the bassist is that played the opening theme for the TV show "Monk"? I LOVE the tone of his/her upright! I wonder which strings they use? Thanks!
I was 3 when the song came out but i can remember it like yesterday! I'm 58! thanks for all the cool trivia!
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Great video! My own style of playing was indeed influenced by Wilton Felder --- But didn't truly realize it until many years later. My dad/guitarist seriously wore out The Crusaders records in the home. So much we've learned every note to many songs. Moreover, later in my adult years I was educated about Wilton's music history outside of The Crusaders. I became obsessed enough to learn of the many songs he played on throughout his music career. The Jacksons in particular is my favorite music group of all time. I was excited as well celebrated learning along with James Jamerson, Wilton Felder too contributed to Motown's deep soulful sound. Thanks Jelando, for the boost to love and appreciate the bass guitar more!!!
@@TheeSymphonysCultureChannel Glad you enjoyed my man!! I remember all the years thinking James Jamerson was the bass player on this song only to discover it was Wilton. His approach was very melodic like when he plays sax but not too busy. He really was that dude.
@@jelandojohnson8193 Superb dissecting of legendary Wilton's fiber as a musician. Serious talent he was. And still lives through his music!!!
interesting channel
@@samiam2003 Thank you!!
Thanks for the info, I never knew that. I also learned from you that the late Joe Sample used to be a member of the "Crusaders. " And now I know. 11/18/24
@@rogercook8277 They’re from my hometown of Houston, TX. Joe moved back here in the 2000’s. I got a chance to play with him before he transitioned. He was that dude. May he, Wilton and Wayne Rest Well in Peace.
That was on point! Thanks for sharing

Excellent sir we want you back !
@@shermanw711 Thank you!!
now that you say that I can hear Joe Sample in this song
@@battlegroundone Joe’s style was completely his own. He’s even acknowledged that. It must be the Creole/Louisiana roots.
Crazy fact, I grew up and attended elementary and Jr. High school with Mr. Felder's daughter in Carson Ca. I was totally unaware of how big a star her dad was back then in fact I remember hanging out on their street from time to time with some friends that lived on their block which was just a few blocks from my house and live music would be blaring inside of their garage from time to time. One year his daughter had a birthday party which I was invited to, and I sightly remember her dad and a few other musicians playing music at some point during the party but I didn't really appreciate it like I should have because I was of course just a youngster. Flash forward into my 20's I started doing music and my buddy I did music with who had many industry connections took me over to Mr. Felder's house and at this time he had moved to an affluent area in Long Beach CA. Knowing indeed who Mr. Felder was by now of course; I introduced myself to him and reminded him of his daughter's party at his house in Carson and that I was in attendance and knew his daughter since elementary school. he chuckled, smiled warmly and shook my hand and said, " Well you're one of my Carson kids huh!" It was really cool. We had actually gone over to see his home studio and get some assistance with some of the tracks we were working on, and I can vouch that he did play the bass and very well because he picked up his bass and played along with the track we had brought and instantly changed the bassline which flipped the track making it way funkier. RIP Mr. Felder.
That is so cool my man. Those are memories that last a lifetime. I hope you’re able to share that story often.
@@jelandojohnson8193 Aging though it sucks at times also blesses us with amazing memories. My grandmother was a classical pianist who taught piano to many students from her garage that she had converted into a piano studio in Compton. One of her students was the one and only Lonnie Jordan one of the founding members of the group War. Funny to think my grandmother is partly responsible for the songs Lowrider and Why Can’t We Be Friends while my grandfather was the pastor of our church Lol. Great channel my man I’m subscribed

Great video but your audio is a little weak..I am a senior citizen amateur song writer and I think your closing statement hits home but it may be a little biased😄!
@@jsamc8420 Thank you for your feedback.
So what you’re saying is that when a COMMENTATOR/PODCASTER HAS AN OPINION or makes a STATEMENT that you do not agree with, his/her STATEMENT IS BIASED? 😮😮 I would have thought that someone of your ADVANCED AGE would HAVE a little more RESPECT for an INDIVIDUAL’S FREEDOM OF SPEECH!😮😮😮 (not that I am attempting to trample on yours) This is RUclips, not the EVENING NEWS! Newscaster ARE SUPPOSED TO BE NON-BIASED whereas a person with his/her PLATFORM usually gains their FOLLOWERS based on their OPINIONS/VIEWS and not on any particular PC AGENDA🫡🫡👀👀🫵🏿🫵🏿
