Add the line: ulm.disableMitigations="TRUE" to the end of the configuration file: Save and close the file.

Unfortunately on VMware Workstation 17 Pro that option is no longer available to turn off. I'll look around for a another fix or possibly see if I can manually edit a config file to stop it.

Hi, how do you enable or mount a USB Wifi dongle, i have done this before but years ago. I have the same USB Wifi dongle but i dont understand how to do it, it doesnt prompt me on the guest machine, no idea how i did this last time - when i insert the USB Wifi dongle. I am using VMplayer 16 instead of VMWare WorkStation 9 or whatever it was that i used years ago.

Hi, I appreciate the tutorial but I keep getting this error when trying to install it: "command systemd-machine-id-setup finished with exit code 1. Output: cannot open /etc/machine-id: No such file or directory". I looked to see if the machine-id file existed and it does, and I even generated a new file with the systemd-machine-id-setup command but I still get the same error when installing.
