Stealth Nerf and Components Rework EM/IR Signatures - RIP Ion - Star Citizen 4.0.1 Update
In Todays Video Hotfuzy and Sloppynoise talk about a fairly big update and changes coming in Star Citizen 4.0.1 Components across the board. Currently on Live PU 4.0 Stealth is still very strong, but it will be taking a bit of a hit with the update. There is looking to be a nerf (increased detection) to stealth components and a buff (reduction) for all other components in their detection rates. you forgot size 2 powerplant
at 5:45ish we recommended the Competition Power for both size 1 and 2. Very few ships will have other needs, maybe an Ion can use a lesser power supply but they are few and far between and we recommend the Competitions for 99% of all s1 s2 ships.

If you have a helmet your good for quite a while just toggle it back on and off during fights for more power
Here's the thing about the Ion though. Yeah, it got an alpha damage nerf, but the burst damage remains the same. The difference now is it isn't as punishing when you whiff your one big shot that you had to hold and charge vs the full auto change they did now. 2,000 and change in alpha per shot, vs 4800ish on a charge that you maybe miss and then have to charge again, end up putting out more damage down range. Plus the hold mechanic about it was tedious as hell anyway. That said I'd prefer it went back to a sniper style, high alpha shot weapon (without a charge and instead using some kind of overheat mechanic), but until armor's in there's really no reason to take this thing out over an F8C or F7A MK2.

Cig is incapable of making ships unique. Everything they do breaks things. Any ship that specializes in one thing gets labeled as meta. It’s he’ll. And CIG are the only one who is allowed to power creep. They are the ones responsible for the broken nature of ship balance, It’s their fault they can’t figure out how to make everything work good.
Im gonna be honest with ya man, some people are in it for the meta min maxing, some people are in it to smell the roses and chill with some friends, some gameplay, etc.... neither side is gonna get everything. They both get a little though.
I have a Cutlass Black and an Intrepid with LTI. Which should I upgrade, and to what?
Thats a tough question, what do you like to do in game? How many people do you play with? Are you a min/maxxer or do you enjoy the game for the game? Whats your budget? Also, in a few months, theres going to be a HUGE sale at invictus (probably end of may).
U still get a firebird with b grade below their corsssection so it just hot air....

The ION nerfs are so egregious. Just refund owners already and delete it from the game.

Ion is a toy ship now.. its horrid
Ship has such potential, but keeps getting smacked over and over again :(. Love the ship idea same w/ the inferno, but they both have just been killed.

There may be some influential truth to that. Meanwhile, most people were just using it to do as intended and kill vhrt hammerheads. This was the real nerf fodder, as this earned players aUEC a little quick which disrupts webstore spending. I’m confident all nerfs are prioritized by marketing…
If you sim it out in erkul this REALLY isn't that big if a nerf as it seems for the sabre and firebird. With storebought stealth components the emissive sig is around the same as the worst case cross section. As a firebird pilot this really doesnt change my calculus. People still radar ping and make themselves known. I dont drop missiles until I'm at 3-4kms out so they cant flare. I dont lock until im on top of someone either. This just changes how I break off if I don't maim the target enough to finish with guns.

stealth for combat/missile spamming needed to be nerfed but not so much stealth for non-combat purposes

@@ChaoticNeutralOrg I imagine they mean for more industrial play....Salvaging and mining. Especially out at LaGrange points, where there's some traffic, you want to remain undetected.

Most energy weapons are supposed to melt armor while ballistics can penetrate shields and are supposed to wreck havoc on internal components. Armor system (i guess now called maelstrom) hasnt been put in yet so a lot can change.
This company is run by clowns. A pack of wild monkeys could do a better job than CIG devs.
Dont get me wrong I love stealth fighters but if I can physically see them and not be able to target them its a bit infuriating to fight them.
I agree 100%, it seems like this nerf was needed. Well have to see how it plays out on live servers but it doesnt look overly drastic to me.

I agree, this is a much needed balance part wise.
Honestly the only ship that stealth seems to be a major issue for is the firebird. Sabres are paper thin and need to be in lock range to use weapons, their only advantage really is getting to choose when they attack. Ghosts a meh. The firebird just needs to lose some stealth when in missile mode or something.
@brianchristopher8843 I've made it a point to sprint at any Firebird dumb enough to volley 6 missiles at me. Ie a sign it's a Firebird

I’m gobsmacked how well Elite Dangerous Odyssey does a number of highly desired SC features so easily and make it fun; cutting tools, charge and drain mechanics, data running, atmosphere and zero G, fire, orbital mechanics and all in a live service game. I really don’t know what is holding CIG back from implementing these features and for taking so long to just get tier one of these features in 🤷♂️

they're adding in increased missions cooldowns or something in the patch to help combat that... at least there will be ample time to clean up now

I did a few of the first missions there and got to the next rep tier.....did you ever get even more missions at all? I thought it would be like Stanton missions and unlock more options but not seeing any more than the original 9 or 10

They do. This was just aiming to see where all the weapons stand in a test. Next test is going to be recoil and how attachments help or dont

@@FlatMoki We can try at a further distance, but i dont know if we can hit all the shots lol. Some of those guns are very heavy recoil. We could test dmg at distance with weps maybe see where drop of begins

Great video only thing id recommend for the next one is to test different armors (like the new citadel one) as it feels slightly weaker and if you remember it had me walking EXTRA slow lol! Great idea for a video
We are looking to do a test w/ the attachments next. This took us so long to get together all of the weapons. Now we have it set to go for more testing

think its worth trying to do saving stanton on 3.24 servers? i have been avoiding a lot of SC until things are working well.
The Ardors are insane tbh. If you have the opportunity to do so and maybe have a group to do the final mission i would do it. It would take a couple hrs, but the rewards still for the later missions are unknown as well.

Agreed lol. But yes it felt alot better so far. We were in for about 2 hrs or so and went well
I agree with the results here, but my personal favorite is the P4-AR, its rate of fire, mag capacity, recoil, and flexibility make it an excellent choice. As well, the Coda might have great knock down, but I lean towards the Arclight, its fast and I can manage the recoil. I don't find much need for a sniper rifle, but the one I use is the A03, with a suppressor its very quiet. Good stuff guys, keep it up.
Really when it all comes down too it, go w/ what your comfortable with and enjoy it. Some of the weps are def garbage though

Why omni over panther? panther got 1800 m/s & have slightly higher dps
Omni has more burst / Alpha Dmg which breaks shields a little more quickly. Panthers are ok for light fighters, but I would upgrade to Omni over panthers
its really good if the xenothreat spawn at ruin. but if they spawn at asteroid espcially the far away like 25gm. UGGGHH. its wasting time. my majority is always spawn at those far away.
Agreed. Its still CRAZY good UEC compared to everything else out there. We found doing the 136k/120k/111k made it faster as well due to them not having to deal w/ hammer head. Also when we got the 890 at ruin, we would get agro to the station when we started to take it out.
found this out first week in but it seem like to much of a money printer and not engaging at all.
i have attrition-5 what i was salvaged and mobi didn't want put them on. so i go and buy own ones(4xs5=1,1mil) just to find out, i stil need to put them on manually too 😂
Ouch. They are very expensive too. Were you not able to save them from the mobi when they were manually installed w/ through unlocking and relocking ports?
