DMC thrives off being able to improvise combos based off nearly anything, mostly enemy types, your weapon or the stage you’re in. As a fan of both series that hasn’t played Frontiers, i can easily say taking DMC as inspiration for the next game is the way to go

@grimmestcreaper2212 I agree with you. To me, I believe DMC's combat would work well for Sonic. DMC's combat has good balance of both style and substance. You switch weapons to change your tactics. Also, another problem of Sonic's combat is its button configuration to do certain moves. The "Homing-Shot" is an example of that. The were times that I want reach another enemy to land on a platform, but I would sometimes accidentally use the "Homing-Shot." Not only that, but some of the moves are locked in the same button. "Sonic Boom" and "Spindash" is an example of that. I like to Spindash through enemies, but if you're on the air and see the "Lock-On-Reticle," and when you try to "Dropdash" on them, you instead perform "Sonic Boom." The button configuration to do other moves in Frontiers' is weird. In DMC, you have the freedom to change what weapon you want to use, such as switching your melee weapons or guns. Why not use that concept for Sonic. For example: Let's say that the "Cyloop" button is your "special moves," you can switch certain "special moves" by using the arrow buttons. If you want to want to use the "Cyloop," you switch it to "Cyloop." If you want to use "Sonic Boom," use switch it to "Sonic Boom." It kinda works like in "The Legend of Zelda BOTW." The L1 is your "special button," and the arrow buttons are buttons to switch different moves. It's like that for Sonic, but without the game pausing while you figure out what move you want to use. In DMC, you can't pause the game while switching your weapons. That concept for Sonic's combat would keep you engaged and and not worrying you about what button you want to use, its all found in the Cyloop button, and the arrow buttons switching different moves.

It's not a bug, the devs let the parry stay overpowered intentionally

After you hit Knight's shield a few times, you can dodge to go behind it and attack Knight directly.

You also can just use the sonic boom on him while he is moving left and right. That will skip his parry and make him do shield immediately, make sure to press the left bumper or the right bumper to skip the shield then rinse recycle and repeat

It's just plain dumb fun

Yeah, but I want my momentum and physics to do that, not broken shit like this. It's not very satisfying when compared to some of the other stuff you used to do

Things like this should be hidden tech, like abusing the drift mechanics in the other boost games to infinitely gain momentum, this is something you can do without any thought of skill whatsoever

Sonic was always about using items, Objects and Terrain too his advantage. He's a guy who loves adventure. His movement is what makes him, him! 😊
