Simon Hirst is a Rock/Pop songwriter from Auckland, New Zealand.
His sophomore album promises to bring a harder edge, and leans into the sound of acts like Switchfoot, Lifehouse and Jimmy Eat World. As well as on-air interviews, recent singles ‘No Turning Back’ and ‘Incomplete’ have received widespread radio airplay and streaming around the world.

Simon Hirst - Redemption [Alternative Version]
A bonus track that comes with the release of the 'Lying on the Floor' single.
During the recording of my last EP, 'How Far Away Home Is', I recorded a short guitar solo on a track named 'Redemption'. It was kept in the mix right up until it was time for mastering, and I asked Scott to master versions of the song with, and without, the solo in it. When I got the masters back I decided that, as much as I liked the solo, I felt the EP worked better with the version without it.
But I decided to release it along with this latest single so people can hear how it subtly changed the bridge section of the song!

Thanks! Can’t have that!! It’s an early 2000’s Martin D-35 (can’t recall exactly what year off the top of my head, about 2003 I think), and generally I use standard Martin SP 80/20 12’s. In this video it had 13’s due to a run of shows where it was tuned down a full step!
