Was the Iron Giant at Waterloo? Were you there?
Waterloo 1970 Quatre Bra and Ligny restored.
This is the version of Waterloo I always wished existed. Main Changes Battle of Ligne is restored to correct position. Quatre Bras appears. The Scots Greys actually encounter infantry. The surrender of the Old Guard is more in accord with history. Lots of other edits to original sequence. Additional scenes from other movies/reenactments Deleted scene restored. i.e. aerial shots of Hougomount.

Everything besides "Luminol" is very scaled down lo-fi dgital.. hardly worth watching. And that applies to the sound too.
😢
Way to go on getting him to pick up the bass and fool around on youtube. 👍👍👍
👍
Holy moly, this works so damn well!
Great performances and video shootages as we know it. I‘m happy to see him again in Stuttgart 2025. Last year PT in Bonn and Schwetzingen were the highlights. New Album „The Overview“ is rising…
Some favourite old scenes have gone missing! The highland dancers, Wellington dozing under The Times newspaper among them.
Nice idea. Could combine some war and peace scenes with this
This introduction has Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd and Gentle Giant vibes...
Adam Holzman, Marco Minnemann wtf is going on there
Can someone help me at 37:00 the Scottish are singing a marching song. I really want to find it
Its called "Below the Gallows Tree". Heres a version on youtube ruclips.net/video/jTv5m6stNAw/видео.htmlsi=5bwsKchjFpVJTTAo
I lost when the camera decided Steven's foot should be in the hall of fame aswell 14:07
Seeing Chad Wackerman was the biggest surprise here. Guy is a true chameleon.
😮❤️
Wow, amazing, Drive Home especially, why let Guthrie go Steven, that lineup was king. Shame.
And now we never get to hear Drive Home live anymore, because of his solo😢
Possibly a few extra scenes on Quatre Bras and Ligny, yes. However.... My own version has the scene where Napoleon says 'goodbye' to the old guard. And my version is longer too. In any case: A masterpiece! 😎😎.......... As opposed to Ridley Scott's abomination! (Which hurts especially deep, because he was once my favourite director) Rod Steiger plays Napoleon as it should: Like an EMPEROR! (Not like a buffoon, as Joachin does)
Great job with your additions!
My favorite Wilson Line-Up :. Holzman, Minnemann, Beg and Govan !!! 😊
Wilson always surrounded by phenomenal players! What a team🤗
Groushy was probably the reason why Napoleon lost Waterloo against Wellington he should’ve split his force to reinforce Napoleon
Yes, he could have marched to the sound of the guns. But then again, we'd all be speaking French now, and eating snails and frog's legs! 😂😂
@@ronaldpatterson1177 one French empire didn’t sound all that bad I think two you have a emperor who actually respects his army for being the back bone of his conquests
1st and 6th Corps inactivity on the 16th was what caused the loss of the campaign.A push and a shove does not a victory make.
Grouchy was appointed by Napoleon. Napoleon also made a late decision to send Grouchy after the Prussians (he waited until the next day) and he was also angry when Marshals didn't follow orders so in the end Napoleon is to blame the most for this error.
Crazy how the soviet government allowed for such a film especially letting their own armed forces be trained for this film an learned how to play the instrument
Blucher was all like “you gotta be fucking kidding me, WERE MY MEN GO IS MY STOMPING GROUNDS”
They just inserted scenes from the main battle with text underneath.
Partially true yes.
The old guard never surrenders the old guard dies with honor
This is not a restoration. Some sienes, such as the doing drummer boy and Napoleon's conversation with la Bedoyere have been omitted
You are correct. I may need to re-title the video as it is ambiguous. I only meant that I had "restored" the scenes that were originally shot as Ligne to appear as the battle of Ligne. I edited a lot of scenes from the original, including all of Napoleons inner dialogue. I also taught my self to do CGI. I'm quite pleased it wasn't too obvious. No one has commented on the 3 shots that include my CGI.
And more..... Yes
😮❤
I hadn't heard this album until recently. I hear elements of Gentle Giant, ELP, Yes, Pink Floyd, and even Opeth. A masterpiece.
King Crimson
The Who
Spine tingling stuff 😎❤
I saw them in Cologne - that was the best concert I ever saw! I was sitting in the first row and was just literally BLOWN AWAY! Best sound I ever heard at a live concert. And yes - only with Guthrie Govan and Marco Minnemann!!!
Was this interview conducted in New York City at the Guitar World office? That Kiss picture in the back is from Guitar World's issue from 1996 because i own it!
🇬🇧...he never named his music style progressive rock, but so far I agree that's his today music isn't my style/type anymore - sadly! "Driving Home" (sadly😢 without Marco on drums) with Gurthie Govans epic guitar solo, that's my favorite..!
Simply a super band with SW on the head.
Some of the restored scenes are from later on in the film, especially the Prussians.
I love Gavin, but Marco is fricken fantastic on drums as well. This album is only very short list of perfect albums start to finish.
FYI - In case you didn't know, this is Chad Wackerman on the drums (when Marco is not playing), not Gavin. He was the drummer for Frank Zappa for a while.
I wish that the director had that one soldier welcome Napoleon back by raising his musket, then walk toward Napoleon, stopping before him at full attention in salute and offering a firm handshake rather than fainting. The fainting comes across as the soldier appearing weak or feminine instead of being in awe in Napoleon's presence as it was probably intended. But it wasn't my film and Sergei did it his way.
Well, you can say that Napoleon is so dominant that a young conscript just faints in front of him.
If Napoleon was a dictator how come he when he came back he was treated as a hero
@@ryleeculla5570A dictator is simply someone who has usurped a democratic regime, it says nothing of popularity or morality.
In the “Ligny” scenes, I think I spotted a few clips from War And Peace.
Yes, its clear to see. Nice idea by the way.
Memo to Sir Ridley Scott GBE, This is how you do it!
Yes! Is this really your work, Ridley? Or where you bribed by someone who hates Napoleon? If I where you, I wouldn't dare set foot on French soil from now on. How would YOU feel if Luc Besson made a movie about Nelson, ridiculing him?
A pitty that this one isn´t available on BlueRay as a Director Cut.
Or even better; with my longer version! (dvd)
Thanks Mick, this is a fine film. No CGI, real scenes.
artitst my friends.... not many of those left on the planet
1:01:20 That's a cool little insert I think And the bits from a reenactment are also interesting.
War and Peace 1968?
Good job......
This is an amazing compilation- thank you for satiating our Raven needs 🙂
No problem 😊
I never saw that Guthrie version of the Drive Home solo, and I thought I'd seen all of them. Magnificent.
Believe it or not, he actually played a bum note in the original video [to my ears anyway] . I edited the bad note out because this was, to me, the best available live version.
Thank you for sharing
Beautifully great!😍
