1:00:09 (13a) Official Plan Amendment No. 26, Masri O Architects, regarding 693 Beechwood Dr.
Where did the delegation go?
Laurelwood's diamond was promised by Trillium, the builders and a Waterloo Counsellor that was present. We were assured this would only be a scrub diamond and would never be used for anything else but a scrub diamond. This just shows that this neighbourhood does not matter, the city only does what it wants. No one will park and walk that far to the diamond, parking will be on the street which will crowd our area and add a safety issue for our families. Regarding the removal of the two diamonds from Waterloo Park and having a festival area installed, gee we use to have many concerts and music in this area using the band shell but it had to be stopped because the area complained about the noise, now with more living areas how can you justify using this as a festival area, I would keep the diamonds and leave it as is. We were promised this diamond would never be used for game use!! I repeat NO ONE Will walk the distance from Laurelwood Public school to the diamond, the road is the closest to the diamond and people will use it and not the School. This should not occur, this should of been better planned years ago, use the Waterloo Academy area for new diamonds or use other school fields in conjunction with the school boards to repair and make these schools diamonds more usable for the community.
Thanks for all you do, city council!
