CHANGE YOUR SET UP FOR BETTER ROTATION
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.2 месяца назад
I see countless players working on adding more rotation to their golf swings without much success. A lot of players accept they may not have the mobility or flexibility to get there and give up. Before you stress the body trying to turn more make sure you aren't making any of these mistakes at address. #golf #golfswing #golftips Online Lessons via Skillest skillest.com/app/profile/bryce-cope-2 ...
MAJOR KEY FOR BUILDING YOUR BACKSWING
Просмотров 7433 месяца назад
If you are a player struggling with the positioning of your arms during the backswing this is a great place to start. I see a ton of players flare the back elbow, collapse the arms, etc and want to know how to fix it. Typically the elbows are not the main issue but the wrists are. Give these feels a try to help. One issue players run into quite often is feeling like their practice swing looks great but their real swing doesn't. Once there is intent to hit a golf ball this can change things and cause the body to compensate to produce the straightest shot possible. Bryce, great content! It would be wonderful to see a follow-up video experimenting with different ball positions and setups. I find the subject matter intriguing. Thank you!
Can you do a video on a proper release! I'm having so much trouble with this.
What’s the issue you struggle with? Chicken winging, leaving the face open, closing the face too much, or just in general not knowing what to do in general?
@@brycecopegolf Can I DM you a video of my swing? Basically every golf pro I see including your swing you can see the butt end of the club from the down the line view after impact, but for me it looks like I'm swiping almost to the left so you never see my hands/butt end of the club. I can't figure out how to release like the pros do. See this timestamp of this Tiger swing for the exact moment I'm talking about: ruclips.net/video/EmLyMDyCbto/видео.html
@@SJ21792 Got it! so a little more handle dragging around vs releasing the club. Can definitely get a video up talking about club release.
Rigged! ..kidding😉. Love the series dude
Haha appreciate it! Will keep them coming
Great tips brother 👌 Best of luck in your RUclips journey!! Hit em straight!! Great content ⛳️
Thanks man!
lower score without perfect shots.... hits three perfect shots :) jk some good advice in here for sure.
Haha some more bad ones are bound to come out if I record these long enough, appreciate it!
Great tips
Thank you!
Outstanding!
I’m new to your channel 🎉
welcome!
I video my swing and I definitely get steep and do stand up to get the club to the ball. I've been working so hard on trying to shallow the club but I just cannot do it for anything
Definitely can be tricky, many ways to do it but hard to know what's best. Online lesson link is under the video if interested!
😊 Promo-SM
Dont layup to 70 😂
Haha that was my main takeaway from this. Super in between one for me, clearly
This is amazing, I’ve only been golfing for 3 years now and I aspire to be half as consistent. How many years would you say it’s taken you to build a swing that doesn’t change drastically every season in backswing length, and grip changes and swing path tendencies?
Started so young it’s tough to say honestly, currently 29 and started at 4. Most of those habits were engrained early on so can’t say for sure. Always things to work on though, I’d say this year was the biggest swing change I’ve made to get less draw biased and still have to grind on it fairly often
@@brycecopegolfgood to know it’s a never ending battle, I will keep working! I’m 24 and hope to find a decent golf game somewhere down the road where I break 90 more regularly.
Terrific presentation. You should instruct others in your technique.
What about weight distribution between both feet? I've heard that you should do 60/40 between both feet , 60 for left, 40 for right foot (if you're RH)
I don’t mind that for wedges and short irons, after that want it to be close to 50/50
This works for some. Not all. Do what is comfortable for you and build on that. Too many golfers try to replicate another golfers swing and it does not work. You can accomplish the fundamentals while being comfortable.
Question? @5:27 Can you talk about from that position to how you generate power from “rotate as hard as you want”? Aren’t you relying on the linear part before that lag point? I don’t swing very rotationally like you mentioned, I’m interested on hearing what you know about creating rotational power from that “square-lag-point” pre impact and from what point do you stop holding the wrist angle (lag angle) and when do you allow it to release and turn over???? Thanks! Very good short video! Takes skill to describe this quickly and succinctly
This is the stuff! I guess lead arm chicken wing is kind of matchup also for steep downswing/open club face?
Yeah it can be for sure!
bro u need to tell people how to just stay still and hit the thing
ikr golf is so easy 😎
I can hit 56' - 7i great with a little draw, above that it gets worse until I slice my driver off the planet. Golf is hard.
Left hand low looks like it rolls more often to the center of the cup
agreed
Very helpful tips, thank you! Can you please share where you purchased your tripod? Thanks!

Super vid
Where are you located are you interested in a 500 dollar stroke play match on video? I'll provide a full film crew !
You look very strong, I am not trying to say anything negative but it really limits the athletic golf swing. See tiger's career for reference lol Hitting the ball hard like Rahm is 10x less reliable. You can hit a 7 iron 190 but your overall move to the ball is less reliable. My 02c as a low single digit
Plenty of mobility work to help balance it, Rahm isn’t small or weak by any means. Know what you’re saying and I think there is a fine line but guys like Brooks handle the size just fine (and I’m no where near that haha).
More good info, thanks.
Blocks and snap hooks…may have seen this once or twice 😅
Haha you and me both
Hi Bryce - can you do a video on pelvic thrust? I have a consistent inside to out swing but at impact my hands look really crowded and close to my body because I keep thrusting my pelvis forward. I don't know what to do to fix this - I tried everything and I can do the proper movement in slow motion but when I go to regular speed the pelvis thrusts forward and I get my butt off the invisible wall. Any video on how to fix this would be appreciated!
I will absolutely do a video on this! Good topic to dive into the cause and effects of this
Great info and thanks for turning off the closed caption.
Appreciate, some of the upcoming ones may have them that were already uploaded but should be gone in the next week or so
@@brycecopegolf I appreciate it, if your audience prefers them you have to go with the majority. By the way, as a serious lifelong slicer, I'd love to have to have the problem of fixing a hook, lol.
Thanks for that. I was worried you’d say 25. It takes a lot for me to consistently get to 30. Great guidance!
Very helpful. I may have missed it but what would be a good launch angle to aim for on a 60 degree wedge hitting to a 60 yrd target? That’s around a 1/2 back swing for me. Thanks!
Typically you want those wedges to come out around 30° for that lower trajectory type of shot
May be best golf video of all time. I have taken hundreds of lessons and watched hundreds of videos this one helped the most. The most important point is to have weight of inside of left foot on back swing, thank you
Love to hear that! Thanks David
This is really great advice Bryce. You are a great instructor - keep making these wonderful videos, really helps beginners like me!
Thank you! Really appreciate it, will keep them coming
Just my opinion... I can't watch your instruction because I'm watching the text of your dialog. If I need closed caption I can turn it on. Thanks.
Fair, will experiment with getting those captions off through videos in February and see if there's a preference
@@brycecopegolf Thanks, I'll come back.

Hey mate.. Thanks for the tips, As a high handicapper i need all the tips i can get.. Im about to upload my very first video so a little scared to show the world how bad i am haha cheers mate
haha we all started some where! Stick with it
Very good, it’s gotta start from the ground up.
Good video
Where's the release?
Everyone may have to think of it slightly differently but in general right after impact is the feel I like. I'm a fan of the analogy of throwing a frisbee or skipping a stone, you don't want to hold those angles off forever but also don't want to dump the wrist angles too soon.
One of the best short videos on the golf swing! 👍
Thank you!
This may be why I seem to suffer from early extension. How should I position the alignment stick? Should it be parallel to the ground when standing upright?
when its in the armpit it should be slightly angled down to the ground, basically in the same line as the shoulder tilt at set up
Swole ❤
