The Red Deer (Cervus elaphus) is a large deer native to Europe, it is the fourth largest extant deer species belonging to the genus Cervus and the fifth largest deer alive today, there are in fact over ten recognized red deer subspecies under two subspecies groups, which are the Cervus elaphus hippelaphus group (Southern Red Deer) that contains the Crimean Red Deer (Cervus elaphus brauneri), the Pannonian Red Deer (Cervus elaphus pannoniensis), the Alpine Red Deer (Cervus elaphus hippelaphus), the Mesola Red Deer (Cervus elaphus italicus), and the Iberian Red Deer (Cervus elaphus hispanicus) and the Cervus elaphus elaphus group (Northern Red Deer) that contains the Swedish Red Deer (Cervus elaphus elaphus), the Norwegian Red Deer (Cervus elaphus atlanticus), the Scottish Red Deer (Cervus elaphus scoticus), the English Red Deer (Cervus elaphus englandensis), and the Irish Red Deer (Cervus elaphus hibernicus).
Cool mission guys - plenty of animal encounters well done on the gnarly old 13!
Great video, well earned stag after all those kms you did. Some promising looking stags amongst them too
Epic mission lads. Takes real self control to pass up good potential stags so well done. Bet the ole legs were a bit sore after those km’s🤙🤙
Great vid mate, Jerry was looking like he’d done those 203km at the end there climbing out😂
Wow, you guys get some amazing stags, love ya channel, super impressive
Thanks for sharing mate, that was awesome
Epic spot, nice head too

Big bulls , nice bit of conservation work fellas 🍺🍺
Wicked views awesome amount of animals
insane stags boys!!! bloody good work! public land or back of farm?
All our vids are public land
Nice work, good looking country
what bullets and calibres were you both using. cheers
Running just 1 gun between us mostly just due to personal preference on safety and what not, but its a 7mm rem mag browning hells canyon long range with a leupold vx3 4.5-14x42 cds scope and running hornardy percision hunter 162gr eldx bullets, usually have pretty good results at longer range anywhere from 200yards right out to 600yards, however anything under 200yards have found that the damage isnt as much and takes a wee bit longer for animals to drop as the bullets going to fast and not doing enough damage as seen in a couple of our videos so for closer range hunting we run a completely different set up
Nice vid mate! How long was that big 10?
Chhers mate, he was 38.5 long, 34 wide just shy of the magic 40, thought he had it too
Neat country.
Nice. Good effort
Love your work mate stunning
What did you drop him with Mate? Nice long range shot and great harvest👍
For my long distance I run a 7mm rem mag as i find it shoots nice and flat and holds velocity and energy, through a browning hells canyon topped with a leupold vx3 4.5x15 cds scope for ammo im running percission hunter 162gr eldx having great results out to 650yards on animals ive found it to be a pretty faultless set up
Nice one...Cheers!
Thanks for taking us along. Was that chamois digging in the snow just for somewhere to lie down.
Yea clearing a wee spot to sit without snow
Good to see you out and about. 😊
Nice one 😎👍
awsome mate
Great footage. Awesome to be that close to stags and hearing them roar. Great spot with plenty of animals. Keep up the good work 👍

Bloody awesome 👍. Dream heads for most North Islanders. Alot of self control you guys have seeing so many and only taking a couple. Hope u picked up ur spent brass 👍
Cull mission on young stags was it. Where's all the meat
Not one of the stags we shot were under the age of 7 years old, all mature old stags so im confused with what your getting at here. But feel free to enlighten me. We dont take the meat of rutting old stag especially when were kilometres from the truck, just take what we can and what we need sometimes just a back steak lot easier to shoot a nice young yearling hind closer and easier to home
@BD Hunting under 7 no way you can clearly see how young in body they look no neck . And pedicles are not that far down you need to look at yor judgment because it is way off
And for the meat why shoot so much when you know you can only take so much extra room in pack just a waste
@@andreweal1738 I think your judgment is off, both 14s were old and mature coronets right down well worn teeth, they were in great body condition due to good feed and to have this much antler development is a clear sign of good maturity, the 11 was old as hell especially considering the fact he had no back teeth due to them being worn right down and eye teeth and couldnt even get a two fingers between the skull and coronet the 10 would of been the youngest but still would of been around 7 got wear on back molers on the bottom jaw but was shot in bush where time to judge is short however a 7 year old 10 pointer thats 36 inches in length I dont know many hunters that would let that go, also on this point we seen 78 stags for the roar let a lot of young ones go including some absolute doozys
@@andreweal1738 also on the meat point this wasnt a meat hunt if were hunting for meat we take yearling hinds in easy access places. in the roar we are hunting for the biggest and best antlers we can get in remote place were its just to far to carry out meat not to mention some of these trips were 10 days the meat wouldnt last not
Awesome. You had a great roar
how many stags in the end
5 stags
@@bdhunting7736 how do you get all that meat out?
Just take the odd backsteak here and there but most is left on the hill, when we do these big multi day trips with massive walk ins and walk outs it isn’t plausible to take the meat, one being it wont last being in a pack for 10 days in a plastic bag itll go off and 2 we just cant carry it the distance out, if were hunting in an area close to home for not as long we take the meat
@@bdhunting7736 so you not meat harvesting neither trophy hunting. I hunt to eat and am struggling to understand shooting 5 nice stags on one trip. Nice video anyway.
@KiwiBoer to points ill touch on here, first being we are trophy hunting all these stags bar the one 9 point cull where trophy public land stags with heaps of age 2 of them being close to 300 ds, second being this video was 5 different trips, in 5 different spots over 28 days so its not what it looks like
Great stag mate well done. Well deserved
Some great stags there boys! Love the skyline shot of the stag roaring.
Cheers mate good to hear
Where’s the footage of jerry walking under the tree? Good video mate!
Hah didnt make the cut 😂
Hello from Canada. How did the ATA Turqua work out for you guys? I have several. They are outstanding value in my opinion. I have all 3 - 243, 6.5 creed, and 308. All three are accurate as hell. Nice looking rifles too.
Hello, Its actually a tikka t3x hunter in 308 very similar looking gun so can see the confusion, also a very good gun we use for our shots within 200 as weve got it set up quite basic standard 3-9x40 scope sighted in at 100 love this for the up close stuff for the long range stuff we use a bowning hells canyon lr in 7mm rem mag with a 5-15x50 scope I think it is with a dial up turret
@@bdhunting7736 ah very good. This for the clarity.
Awesome video lads and we’ll done on the two 14 pointers👌🏼
Nice shooting lads
Very nice!
where abouts is this?
South island NZ
Mate that's the best 2023 road trip video hands down what a honey hole

Plenty of action and a couple of rippers well done 👍
