Life In The Matrix
Сингапур
Добавлен 25 июл 2022
Welcome to my channel! I post about wildlife, travel, flying as a seaplane pilot, and as a passenger on other aircraft and lots of adventures!
I have been traveling around the World for 30 years, a lot of it during the pre-internet era and most of the old photos and rare videos are either scattered somewhere or lost, it is all in my head though, until I lose all that memory! In the post internet era, and before microblogging like Twitter, I did write about my travel experiences and uploaded photos and low definition videos on that blog, link below
A friend told me recently that I should do more vlogging and use RUclips for the same, and so I have created this channel here. I hope you will enjoy my videos as much as I do in making them! Thank you for your viewership and kind support!

Another superb Video. Do you think one can cover most temples in 3 days?
Thank you! I think that you can cover all the important and well-known temples in 3 days' time! It might be a little tiring, especially during the summer months when it gets swealtery hot but as long as you're well hydrated and able to walk/climb, you can fit it all into 3 full days. I was there for a week this time and could easily pace myself to maximise the experience. If you're going, have a great trip!
I just missed this opening by a couple of Months. I was in Singapore in march 24 and wanted to photograph the downtown buildings from Gardens by the bay east and had to disbark at the stadium station and walk with all my heavy equipment to the Gardens by the Bay east. But the next time I can get down at Tanjong Ruh and the walk will be shorter! Superb Upload and 10/10 for that!
Thank you for your kind words and for watching! The Thomson East Coast Line or TEL has been a boon for many of us. We've been waiting for an MRT that was convenient for us to commute downtown Chinatown, little India and Orchard, and finally, we got it! I've used it all the way to Woodlands a couple of times, too!
Sir, this is a very informative video. Please keep exploring and uploading. I am due to visit Siam Reap in a month and this video puts several things in the right perspective in terms of timelines, transportation, immigration etc. I will remember your number 1 tip!
Thank you for your kind comment! I'm happy it was informative for you. I have uploaded many videos of the angkor sites and more tips about what to do and expect. I've vlogged about the tickets to the angkor temples as well. Thanks again!

Nice ride, Nice Bus ! Level of cleanliness in the surroundings is noteworthy.
The bus ride was indeed smooth, and I didn't feel that it was a 6-hour trip. I found that the cities clean and some of the smaller towns and villages I went to were very well maintained. It's like they take pride in their surroundings. Thank you for watching and for your comment!

Salamat po! Happy New Year, and now in Singapore, people are preparing and waiting for the Chinese New Year at the end of this month. Celebrations here are continuing! All the best to you and yours, Po.
Nice happy new year
Thank you! Happy New Year to you too!
It looks like it would have been so fun to be there, looks like the vibes were great!!
I and my friends had a great time here. Usually, these events are crowded here, but the venue they chose this year was big enough to make it enjoyable with lots of space for people! Happy New Year! Thanks for watching and supporting my videos!
I really appreciate this detailed information. Thank you.

This is a great feedback to what to expect when arriving to Siem Reap. Thanks you so much, very helpful. I was wondering if you can provide some information about where to change money, did you buy a SIM card, and how did you move around once you where in Siem Reap to see the temples, what is the cost. Or what do you recommend, Thanks
Since the US dollar is widely used for all purchases everywhere, I didn't have to change money. In some of the episodes that I posted, I have mentioned the pricing and mentioned the wide use or USD. Many times, you pay with USD and get the change back in a combination of dollars and Riels! Even the tuk tuk guys charge in the US or equivalent, which is roughly 4000 riels to a dollar. One can negotiate the pricing when taking the tuk tuk or at the local markets. I've covered a lot of that in my previous episodes. I didn't buy a sim card and didn't need to. All the restaurants at Pub Street have free wifi, and I've used that. Same in the hotel. As for travelling around to the temples, you can choose a car with a driver guide or just hire a cab for the day. I have a friend there who organised the best car and driver while I set the plan on the day's itinerary. If you'd like, I can recommend the person, and you can directly deal with him.
@@lifeinthematrix9 Yes please if it is ok to share that will be helpful. Thanks a lot
@tibisayescalona3271 contact Mr. Cheng and say Anup from Singapore said to call him. Ask for car and driver called Titan (he appears in the floating village episode of my vlog). He's really good and communicative and very helpful. In case you don't get Cheng, let me know and I'll put you in touch with Titan. Both good guys. Cheng's number (he's also on WhatsApp): +855 12 390 466
Tha amok looks great. Do you remember the name of the restaurant?
It was the Mesa restaurant, and I ate there a couple of times, all their dishes that i tried were delicious. Their neighbour is called Rachana restaurant and that's just as good. I think both have the same ownership as I saw the wait staff commonly flitting between the two.
Very nice! As close to actually visiting it as possible. 🙂
Thank you! That's the goal for me, to take my friends around even if it is on a virtual tour.
hi if i buy ticket after 430 pm can i use it next day also?
If it is a one day pass, I think it is only valid for that day. I don't think you can use it the next day as a 24 hours ticket because they punch the ticket for that date. However, if you bought a one day pass at 430PM and if you didn't use it that day, I suppose you could use it the next day.
@lifeinthematrix9 because i heard is valid. I've emailed the company regard. thanks for reply

Thank you. I have now left Cambodia and I am posting videos of my travel there. I have a lot of videos remaining to be posted here. This was my 3rd visit to Siem Reap but the first 2 times i went there was in 2006 and 2008. Thank you for your comment. I love Cambodia and its friendly people.
Kindky suggest Which taxi app works the best in Macau
There is no Uber or Grab in Macau. Local taxis are available on the phone if you call them. Your hotel can also book a cab for you. Bus is the most convenient and will take you everywhere. Taxis take a lot of time to respond. If you're staying in the heart of town, most of the places you want to visit will be within walking distance, and I have posted those videos on my channel as well. I've also posted videos on using the bus system and the LRT. I hope those add to your information bank. Have a great trip to Macau!

Oh my goodness, it looks so beautiful and amazing. Especially the nighttime parts, with the lights from the shops and overhead...that is something I need to see in my lifetime now!!
Siem Reap, Cambodia is worth a visit. The various temples from the Angkor and pre-angkor era, river cruises on the Mekong, mountains, and nature trails to hike are all fun things to do! Siem Reap itself is a nice little town with a great atmosphere and pub street is the most popular area to hang out and dine. It all comes alive at night. I'm happy that you liked this episode on Cambodia. Thanks for watching and for your comment!

Thank you for your video. It’s very helpful. May I ask you about Macau currency. Is 1000 MOP much in Macau. I just travel there 4 days and need money for transportation, lunch and dinner. Does 7-eleven in Macau accept international credit visa card? I want to buy Macau pass there. Hope that you will answer me soon. Thank you!
You're welcome! 8 MOP is 1 USD so it depends on your budget for meals. Meals are not hugely expensive. As for transportation, a travel pass makes sense if you are going to use the bus system all the time. If you're only going to use it infrequently, then just pay cash at the bus entrance. I have posted a video about using bus and also the MRT light rail system in my series and I hope you watch those videos that may help you even better. There are many places you can buy a travel pass and you may find that info online if that outlet accepts credit card or not. I used the bus only 2 times in 4 days. One was to go to Coloane (I posted a video of that too) and one was to the Ah Ma temple and maritime museum next to it. So I didn't buy the travel pass because I would never finish using the minimum stored value of 100 MOP. I stayed close to all the attractions and it was an easy walk everywhere. So depending on where you're staying, it may make sense to buy a pass for 130MOP of which 30MOP is service charge. Please watch all.my macau videos that may help you better. If you still have any questions, please feel free to ask me and I will respond. Thanks and have a great trip!
@@lifeinthematrix9 Thank you for your advise of Macau Pass. I may possibly use the bus to go to Coloane, Ah Ma temple and to Studio city where I attend 2 concert nights. So I may use the bus at least 8 times. The other places is near my hotel so I can walk on foot. The problem with cash is there is no return money on the bus. I have some more questions: - Are the bus annoucements made in English too? I don't speak Chinese so I'm worry that I will not recognize the drop off. - Is the MRT light rail all around Macau? - Does the ATMs accept all kind of visa and master cards to withdraw money?
@SamSam-hv2le @SamSam-hv2le you're welcome. Yes as you can see from the video I posted about the bus going to Coloane and back, the announcements are made in English and Chinese and there are displays in the bus that show the name of the stop and the next stop. The MRT line is just one and doesn't cover all of Macau. Please watch the episode on the MRT I posted for more info. Thanks. I almost forgot about your ATM question! I've been able to use my cards at different locations and withdraw money without problems. I'm sure you know this, but make sure your card has been enabled to be used overseas. Just a tip!
@@lifeinthematrix9 Thanks for your reply. I still have one more question. Do you know anything about taxes refund in Macau?
@SamSam-hv2le there is no value added tax or GST in Macau. I'm not sure what tax you're asking about. There aren't import duties either in Macau.
What a beautiful historical location. Really curious to go to Cambodia.
You'd love it for a combination of things, including food. They also eat insects, like crickets, a throwback from the khmer rouge days when they had nothing else to eat, and they've got a cuisine around it. Similar to Thai and Vietnam doing the same! There's more to their culture, food, and music than I can show. I would recommend a visit to Cambodia for sure!
You are not an ASEAN citizen 🤔
In 10mins you finished immigration? Just wow!
❤ I am waiting for your next videos! Hope I can visit Cambodia someday
Indeed, I am not. Resident only!
All the immigration lanes were open and I was among the first to have everything in hand. It took a super short time and I was out the door and into the bus as it was about to leave. The next bus was an hour or so later. Lucked out!
It is well.worth a visit. I have many videos to upload. A lot of them are about the archaeological sites, and there's some local experiences as well around Siem Reap town itself.
I am now super excited for the next set of videos ❤
The next one will be Bayon temple and Angkor Thom area. I will try and upload it on Friday! Thanks for your viewing and support. Every like and comment helps!
