The book discusses Klarman's views about value investing, temperance, valuation, portfolio management, among other topics. Klarman draws from the earlier investment book The Intelligent Investor, chapter 20, which is titled "margin of safety", a concept coined in the 1940s by authors Benjamin Graham and David Dodd.
