Dante-to-Waves SoundGrid in real time? A walk through WSG Bridge, features, & FAQs
The WSG Bridge converts Dante to Waves SoundGrid (and back) in real time. Outstanding audio and barely any latency makes it a perfect solution for live productions. We caught Hear Technologies tech guru Max mid-build to walk us through what the Bridge does, how it works, and some FAQs.
We’re honored to have worked with Waves Audio to create this fantastic pro audio tool. A departure from our well-known personal headphone monitoring solutions, the Bridge is a useful rack-mountable tool for live productions, worship production, and more. The WSG Bridge is in stock and available through Waves’ website and other pro audio dealers.

    what is the latency?

    • @HearTechnologies
      @HearTechnologies 12 дней назад

      Thanks for asking! Between Dante and WSG: 0.787ms @ 44.1kHz 0.778ms @ 48.0kHz 0.580ms @ 88.2kHz 0.520ms @ 96.0kHz Of course, that's inside the Bridge itself and doesn't include any other/outside equipment's possible latency.

    I like this product very much but it’s currently in my junk I think because of sweetwater. I purchased this product thinking it will work on Yamaha CL5 and while purchasing sweetwater’s salesman confirmed that but after purchasing WSG we learnt that WSG is not supported by CL5 and thats how this product is laying in my junk :(

    • @HearTechnologies
      @HearTechnologies 13 дней назад

      Hi, Ashish! So sorry to hear you're having trouble with the Bridge. It looks like the CL5 has a Dante interface, so that should connect with the Dante card on the Bridge if you want to go from Dante to Waves. This of course depends on what you want to do with it, how you want to use it. When you have time, please send us a DM and we'll be glad to see if we can help! -K/HT

      @@HearTechnologies after checking few online forums I learnt CL5 cannot do Dante inserts so my idea of processing 64 channels failed but the main reason for my dissatisfaction is sweetwater because I believe I was misguided. Unfortunately I live in other country cannot do much about it..

    Can we get a demonstration video of routing between live audio and DAW playback into the system(preferably in Reaper or Logic)

    • @HearTechnologies
      @HearTechnologies Месяц назад

      The routing on a live mixing console, as well as from the soundcard used with your DAW, really depends on the I/O of the device. Some will have lots of analog outputs available, some will have a few channels of AES available, some may have Dante. It's very dependent on your hardware.

    How do you add different and individual instruments to the channels? Do i need to use a DAW to configure each mixer?

    • @HearTechnologies
      @HearTechnologies 2 года назад

      You'll send stems (in whatever configuration you want) from your console or your DAW to the Hear Back PRO Hub, which is the brains for the PRO system. The Hub then sends those to each PRO Mixer. Then the musician can mix their headphones/IEMs however they like. Hope this helps! -K/Hear Technologies

    I hate to be dense, but I don't understand where HBP gets the analog signals from. I don't have anything on my mixer that looks like the input for these 8-CH analog cards. Do I need some other piece of equipment between the two?

    • @HearTechnologies
      @HearTechnologies 2 года назад

      Thanks for asking! We sell a cable that breaks out the 25-pin end to 8 quarter-inch TRS connections. It's not proprietary - just a DA-88 cable you can get elsewhere, too. Hope that helps! -K/HT

    • @btnstudios1978
      @btnstudios1978 2 года назад

      @@HearTechnologies Thanks for the quick reply. Since the Aux outs on my board are XLR, then I'd need the DA-88 with XLR ends rather than 1/4". Then I connect up one AUX out, send 16 channels to the hub at line+mute and everyone with a HBP mixer on-stage can dial in their own mix, right? And since my mixer has 32 channels, some of the channels will be a bus, like a drum bus? Or do I need to use a snake splitter to be able to send each one of the 16 channels separately to the hub? Seeing the connectivity would help me a ton. Knowing how to dial the HBP mixer on stage is the easy part. Getting the signal to the hub is the trick.

    Very clear detail explanation, but too many repetitions, you should be able to explain much more than that in 10 minutes video. And, perhaps use some kind of stand or let somebody else hold the gear so you can focus on the talkand demoing the steps, instead of also have to be busy in holding the gear? But nevertheless, thank you! Appreciate that.

    Interesting product, in some ways this could work better than the Focusrite x2p's that I have. One question, on some retailers such as B&H it is listed as needing PoE+ but also having 15w max draw. Is there a scenario where the standard PoE spec will not work?

    • @HearTechnologies
      @HearTechnologies 2 года назад

      Thanks! We try to design useful gear. We strongly recommend PoE+ for the Switch Back M8RX, but it can handle standard PoE up to about 13w, more or less. If it's on standard, you'll likely run into dropout past about that. Hope that helps!
