Time-lapse video of me building a miniature house. My plan is to build a whole village to use when my family plays D&D.
Keep going! I like your paintings and your rambling 😉
Wonderful drawing my friend 👏👏❤️
Thank you!
Amazing drawing my friend ❤️
Thank you!
Amazing painting by good artist thanks for sharing my friend 👏❤️
Wonderful artwork. I enjoyed watching the process. Thank you.
I've been working on some decollage -- so maybe I'll try a "decollcalcomania" 😁 I love all the details on your finished piece
Thank you!
I Like your composition. Your technical abilities using vintage paper and graphite are brilliant. Practice and inspiration mostly work when an Artist is busy making Art. Thanks for the video.
I am more absent-minded now and spend far too much time looking for stuff I just had. I got extra pen/pencil cases to keep better track of my tools. Now I spend too much time digging through my cases. Thank you for making me feel more normal...if "normal" is a good thing.
You got my dog's attention with your coyote audio 😄 Earlier this year, I was shocked to see a coyote walking down our driveway because we're in a densely packed neighborhood with dogs in almost every yard. I like all of the different elements that you added to your coyote drawing! Also thanks for letting us beginners know that it was your second attempt👏
Ha! It spooked my cats when I played it in the house. Thank you for the comment.
My sketchbooks are silly and ugly, but I have trouble discarding them just because.
I never get rid of mine either. They are fun to revisit after several years.
Wonderful drawing!
Priceless process. I used make frottage on notebook paper in my boring classes. Coins, paper clips, gum wrappers, anything to make an impression or "rubble" (as I mused) , from the rubbed surfaces onto a page.
Wonderful! With this one, the string by itself would have sufficed, but it still worked. I too like "rubble". Thank you for the comment.
Interesting technique! The drawing was... A quite creepy
Thanks for sharing this! I liked the unpretentious drawing. I've also noticed that way how people share their sketchbooks and everything in it is a masterpiece
hello I'm a refugee self taught artist and have tobdraw for an art exhibition in Sydney for the first time. Wish me luck
Good luck!
i struggle with this problem a lot! it's like a nagging feeling that's begging me to leave for better and more worthy artists to take the opportunity. watching this video first thing in the morning feels good, I hope I can be a bit brave and take a step like u did <333
Great transformation on your studio re-establishment. Congrats! I like the surrealistic vibe to your various compositions, the graphite, the gourd sculpture, and the paintings. You'll find the audience, the galleries, and individuals who'll appreciate your creative endeavors. No rules. Just keep improving and enjoy the ride. Best wishes.
I'm only a few years in and my art practice feels like just that, practice. Whenever I do share something people say positive things but I'm pretty sure that's just because they don't know what they're on about lol. And getting invited to participate in shows they usually have a cost to enter so I think it's just for the entry fee. Idk.
Juried shows often have a fee, and it usually helps cover whatever prize they give. A lot of the galleries I have been involved with will have a juried show once a year, and not all charge a fee. But they change out their shows about once a month, so the other shows are artists they schedule, either groups or solo. I understand what you are saying, and I have avoided a lot of those too. I hope you keep at it, because as I said, we have a lot more options than galleries. Best of luck with your art!
Also, I'd like to add that I would personally not participate in one of those fee-based shows unless there was a chance of prize money, because then you are just paying them to show your work and that doesn't seem right to me. You were wise to be skeptical of a show like that.
I’m so grateful I came across this video. Thank you for the wise words 😌
Love your art and your t-shirt.
Thank you!
Creepy 😄🫣 nice drawing
I love sketchbooks and visual journals, especially the messy ones. Carefully curated sketchbooks are nice, of course, but the messy ones are truly liberating.
Yes!
Oh, I like the ABP approach to art. Something to think about.
Exactly how I've always worked, not as skilled, but just recently started oil painting as well as using reference in an attempt to get more realistic. Thank you!!! <3
I have often incorporated referenced images too, both photos and life, in paintings like this. I like the way those observed elements look combined with the parts that are straight from the imagination. Looking at stuff is definitely the thing to do if you want to get good at realism. Best of luck with your painting!
Awesome painting and interesting discussion! I would definitely be interested in hearing about synchronicities. I'm not surprised at all that someone with a creative brain would unlock ways of seeing (understanding?) that other people don't access.
Thank you!
Mine sketchbook is super ugly...
Mine too. :-)
I need to start just filling these out. I used to tear out and throw away sketches that didn't "look good".
Vampires > Zombies. Unless the vampire sparkles. Then Zombie > Vampire. I use my sketchbook as my sandbox. It is a playground that I can play around with. Good video. Thank you.
Really like this video!
thank you for this beautiful moment of sharing ! I really enjoyed the video, made me wanna draw ! :)
thanks for sharing shane :)
I will mess up once in my sketchbook and just give up on it unfortunately.
One bad page and I start tearing out pages..then destroy the whole book, then buy a different sketchbook...then repeat the process again...now 50 books later and I'm about to repeat again...uhhg
not the way I build, but Can really use the inspiration, your layout is great🤘, looks damn good, so Ill "Steal" some ideas and the scale of your build
You don't have to play this video so fast man...! we can't catch up.
Amazing what you can do with a little bit of materials.
Great job.
Just Fucking beautiful :D Really thanks for share man ^____^
