This is such a clever idea! By far the best and neatest solution I've seen. Perhaps use some threaded inserts and small machine screws in the black instead of using self tapping screws. This will avoid potential cracking.

Mobile timestamps 0:00 - Camera goes down the hole 0:43 - Perch and sunfish start to show up 1:45 - Deadstick fully set up 4:25 - Panfish run away 4:33 - Pike shows up and strikes 5:30 - Pike bumps camera 6:22 - Minnow touches pike scaring it off 8:07 - Pike is suspicious and starts bumping minnow 8:37 - Minnow touches pike again scaring it 10:05 - Checking out camera again 10:21 - Back to checking out minnow 19:45 - Pike #1 leaves, possibly detects #2 approaching 22:50 - Pike #2 appears, checks out camera 23:30 - Gives camera a sniff 25:02 - Pike bumps minnow, sees it struggling and reverses 25:28 - Suddenly interested in camera, bumps it multiple times 26:13 - Pike takes minnow 26:38 - Jaw jacker goes off, camera pulled out of hole to minimize tangles 26:57 - Cut to cellphone footage of fight 28:13 - Pike landed

Different pike! There are two in this video! First one from 4:41 to 19:51 has a white mark on the right side of face, the second one at 23:07 onward doesn't. Marks around eye are different (broken "V" under eye for example).

Timestamps for mobile users: All throughout video - Tiny perch around 6" long 3:40 - We take out the camera to put it into another hole, but decide to put it into the same one 8:58 - A small minnow darting around, attracts the attention of some perch who start chasing it 9:05 - All of the perch turn away together and start to swim away. Perhaps some big fish off camera scaring them away... 19:19 - In the lower left corner some minnow(?) darts into frame 20:56 - School of possibly smelt in the upper half of the frame show up. They show up here and there for the rest of the video. Either smelt or big ass minnows. Odd that smelt show up so shallow. 21:53 - You can see a crayfish hard at work close to the middle of the frame 24:46 - We pack up to go home 25:36 - You can see how sketchy the shore ice was
