Great light but way too finicky about batteries. I bought some expensive Samsung cells just for it and they won’t work. No reason for it to be like this.

Very nice looks exactly the same as my 1999 Spyderco police model. Another cool one is the 1992 model that doesn't say police on the blade at all. I have both of these as well as the rare original G10 version with the full flat grind it was made in 1997 and it is new in the box. I have to make a video I currently have 42 Spyder codes but I used to have over 300 and unfortunately my ex-girlfriend stole a lot of them and sold them. But at least I still have my very first police model my father gave me when I was 6 years old and I am 34 today and have been collecting Spyderco since I was six in 1995

If you are using a Kydex or other sheath for a neck knife, using paracord gives an assailant a weapon against you. In a grapple, if he gets hold of the sheath or cord, especially from behind, he can strangle you & there's little you can do about it. Replace the paracord with a metal ball type chain which will break apart before your neck breaks or you strangle. Just a suggestion if you expect to use a neck knife as a tactical survival knife. Also neck-hung knives can move around, so you might have to grope for it - especially if it's under clothing, which you have to dig through. Wear a knife intended to defend you as a horizontal appendix-carry knife on the belt or IWB on your non-dominant hand's side, but close enough to the belt that will allow you to grab it with either hand. If your are carrying a pistol on strong side, the grappler will be concentrating on that arm & the pistol, trying to keep you from drawing it or grabbing it himself. This can leave your non-dominant hand free to go for the concealed belt knife. You can pull a small 1 1/2" to 2 1/2" blade with your off hand & go to work creating enough distance as he backs off to get out your primary weapon (or run the hell away - a better choice most often). If your state allows "dagger-style" double-sharpened blades, go for a push blade (sometimes called a punch knife) grip it between first & second fingers - handle solidly in the palm - & go to work. It's just about impossible for anybody to get it from you since all that protrudes is a double-edged blade. Anybody who can throw a punch, even weakly, already knows how to use it. It's a great force-multiplier. Look for an asymmetric handle, not a T-handle meant to be held between your 2nd & ring fingers. Shivworks makes excellent ones - but they are over $100.00. They also make the equally expensive Clinch Pick, which looks more like a normal knife - but beware, it is ONLY sharpened on the SPINE side, so resist the temptation to put your thumb on it 😪. It is also impossible for somebody to get the knife away from you since all they can grab is the blade. It's plumb-shaped handle fits inside your palm & will not twist or turn or protrude in any way. They have a version for about $100 and version 2 for about $135 IIRC. Somebody told me they make a blade sharpened on both sides - but I've never seen it on their site. Since this is not meant as an everyday knife, but only in case of a close combat grappling situation, really any inexpensive highly pokey knife with 1 slicing edge will do. Cheaper steel is much less of an issue if you only need actually to use it once. Get a practice version if one is offered for training & you can grapple with a friend - or take a class. If the sheath doesn't have the kind of clip that lets you wear it comfortably, there are many aftermarket clips on Amazon & other sites.

Bought my SPEW at Walmart. Excellent neck carry for hiking, small camp tasks, and wade fishing. I took it on a fishing trip boating and wading down the river. Wasn’t worried about losing it because it was $20.00 at the time. Easy to strop back to a razor. Love the thin warncliffe.

Spraying the item with salty water before you cover it works better.

Been eyeing this for over a year and just picked up this same one in green. I’d been looking for a one and done light for the house. Wow the quality is top tier and the throw is so nice. Flip to spot and blast a beam into the night.

I like to put it in the soles of my shoes, it's pretty easy to hide and I can carry it anywhere. 😊

I’ve got dozens of tools and bits but I haven’t seen a tool to adjust a pivot screw with a square hole. That’s the deal breaker for me with this Gerber knife - no pivot adjustment nor disassembly possible.

My screwpop is really hard to slide the blade up. I don't know if it's defected or the magnet is too strong or whatever. I tried my other blades and that had the same issues

My oldest stepson and I each have one. I use mine for yard work knife. Chopping plants and weeds in the flower bed. I collect knives and it's the cheapest. If I break it Walmart sales them for $25 bucks. Lol

I have the Ekko w titanium bolster and micarta, from knifecenter. One of my faves. Ray Laconico is a legend. I have the stainless steel pyrite and while i like it as a knife, it's very slick to grip. Ekko in any version wins over the pyrite for me. My only complaint is that I wish the jimping extended further out along the spine like the pyrite does
