    We had to take old backsplash off and there's still some tile adhesive (I think?) on the wall. So it's not smooth. Would you say this is not a good method if the walls aren't smooth?

    • @MrNathaneasterling
      @MrNathaneasterling День назад

      I would say it would probably be fine. You could always do a few test pieces leave it for a few days to dry fully and go from there. Remember backsplashes are hardly ever even touched so you're not looking at a whole lot of wear and tear on them.

      Out of curiosity what do you think is wrong with doing it this way? (Honest question not trying to be rude or anything please don't take it that way) the one close to the floor was covered by a large piece of window trim and all the rest of them were about 5" or less from the ceiling, they've been there for about 5 years now with multiple renters going through the house and not one patch has had an issue so far. Not trying to say that it's the right way or anything but I am wondering what the big deal is that people have with it.

      The patches have been there for more than 4 years and not one of them has jumped out of the wall cracked or anything I still own that house and I also don't work for other people. The reason I did it that way is because I got a quote for thousands of dollars to do that repair and wouldn't have been done for months. I didn't say this was the right way to do it or the most perfect way to do it it was just the way I did it and it worked just fine. You should watch my other videos if you would like to know how to repair drywall the correct way but nobody watches those

It's the house I carried my wife over the threshold of after we got married so it means a lot to me. We moved from that house in 2019 (when I made that video) and still no issues with any of those patches.

      😂 It's been years but I think the reason for the 4-in holes was to be able to maneuver the blower somewhat and also make the corner into the walk cavity. Honestly if I had to do it over again I would just cut a strip all the way across the room and just patch it with a large strip of drywall like a 3-in or 4-in strip of drywall

      I agree, if you accidentally bump the button on the front and don't realize, the door will not open and you think you have a problem. It should open the door at the beginning of the cycle so it can get rid of any soap that was put in and just lable it Rinse Only (don't add soap) or something along those lines.

    What if the drywall patch butts up against a stud and there is no way to get the clip under the stud?

    • @MrNathaneasterling
      @MrNathaneasterling 5 месяцев назад

      My personal opinion, if you have a patch and you are butting up against a stud that's a good thing, what I would do is either cut the drywall so that it lands halfway on the stud so you can attach to the stud on that side and the clips on the other or (what I would do) cut past the stud to where the stud is in the middle of your patch, this makes for a very strong patch and just use the clips on either side of the stud and screwed directly to the stud in the middle. I hope this helps let me know if you have any other questions would love to help more. 😁👍
