BiGG Fusion Tips
Добавлен 6 окт 2021
Want to learn how to design cool things using Autodesk's Fusion 360. Look no further, with my step by step tutorial help series we go over the very basics of learning Fusion 360 for those who have never used any kind of CAD software before, and maybe some of you are familiar with CAD software and are just brushing up on some of the features.
I am no master at Fusion 360, but I have come to know it very well over the years of using it.
My background is that I've taken a college CAD course to become a certified CAD designer. I was also selected among several in my class to intern for a power plant designing company for half a semester. Software I've used in the past include: Autocad, Microstation, Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, and DesignSpark Mechanical.

Using the designing tools. Designing an Office Chair. Fusion 360 for the absolute beginner.
In this video we practice with some of the tools that we've learned along the way to design an actual object. Today that object is a roughly designed office chair. Follow along with me as we put some of the 3D design tools to the test.
Sorry for the long absence, life has been busy the last year. I hope to be able to have time in the future to continue putting out content, however I never know what I may be doing next that requires a lot of my time. Anyways thanks for watching, and as always stay creative. :)

And I am just to know how to set an offset thingy yup OK!!!
How did you make it work? replace face doesn't work on cylindrical face ( doesn't matter whether you use cylindrical face as source or target face)
I'm trying to do a fillet on 2 circles in sketch it will not snap to the circles.
thanks for this great tutorial, really appreciate your efforts, thanks again
Thanks, don’t fully understand it but you’ve definitely given me a perspective🤝🏾

What can I do if the body is not highlited? Like on 1:58. So that I can't select the body in the the Combine command. I have a free version of F360 - could this be a limitation? It doesn't look like I have a step missing...
Hmmm that's interesting. 🤔 Not sure why it's doing that to you? I also have the non commercial version, so I wouldn't think that, that would be the reason for the problem you're having. The only thing that I would be able to think of is that you didn't change the selection for each object in the dialog box such as your target body, and your tool body. But it sounds like you followed it exactly like the video, so I'm honestly not sure why it would be doing that to you. It's one of those problems that without seeing it I don't really have any idea unfortunately. 😕
For future episodes, I'm really interested in working with materials available in the shop. Let's say I want to build a chair, I would use 2" square pipe for the frame and I know it's sold in 6ft pieces. Then I'd add the seat part, made from 4x1 boards and I know they're sold in 7ft pieces. How can I use fusion to create structures using those materials in a smart way, so that in the end I can make a bill of materials, a list of pieces to cut, maybe even get the total weight of the item or things like that.
Thanks for the feedback, that will be a great idea for a future episode. We haven't touched on what you are wanting to know quite yet, so I need to pick up the pace and create more videos so that we can go over those in detail. But to answer your question yes you can make blueprints for an actual build using Fusion. Basically Fusion works like this: you will first design the actual 3D version of what you are making. Once you have it designed you can then split all of those seperate pieces that make up the assembly, and assign each piece its own material, which will carry over to the 2D CAD drawing schematics that you can use as the blueprints for your actual build. It is here in this 2D CAD drawing, where you can add all the dimensions needed to make the actual build. You will also have everything listed that you will need such as a bill of material etc. Hope this gives you an idea of what we will touch on later in future videos, please stay tuned for upcoming videos. P.S. I can send you a quick video that I put together for you, although this video was made before I realised what you were actually asking. For some reason I thought you just wanted to know how to add materials such as wood to the CAD drawing and how to do a bill of materials on a 2D schematic. Let me know if you would like me to send that video to you anyways.
@@biggfusiontips7584 No hurry, your pace is fine. Just expressing my interest in trying to design stuff that will eventually be manufactured or built. There's a lot of tricks you can do to design stuff quickly so it looks nice on the screen, but makes using the design difficult.
Nice series, thank you!
Great playlist...I like that it's short videos as I am a total beginner to 3d design 👍. I currently on the 1st 3d video.
Thank you, glad you like it. Yeah short and to the point is usually the best way to learn. That's awesome! Be sure to stay tuned, more uploads are coming. Going to finish the 3D workspace tools, then we'll start designing actual parts.
@@biggfusiontips7584 that's great, I'm an rc hobbyist and brought an ender 3 v2 .... 3d printer so now want to learn this software. not had much free time recently but plan to start your playlist from the 2d beginning to refresh and then continue the rest. it may take me a while to get through your playlist as im quite busy. but will give you my feed back as and when i can keep up the good work buddy 👍
That's awesome! Enders are great printers, I've had one for years now and it has been really good. Yeah, I hear you there, time is hard to come by sometimes. That's great, yes hopefully these videos will help you learn the software, just do it at your own pace. I've still got quite a few videos left to get done, so that we cover the majority of the tools, just need to find time to film them. Yes that would be great, always like to hear feedback on what could be done better. Thank you I appreciate it, I will do my best to do that.
awesome
Thanks for this playlist. Perfect to get my feet wet.
You're welcome, hope they're helpful. Be sure to stay tuned, have a lot more videos, and exciting things for this channel in the future.
Great videos and thanks for posting. Ever thought of doing a one on one tutorial over a Zoom meeting? Maybe an hour session just plugging away at things?
Thank you, glad you are enjoying them. Great idea! I am always open to new suggestions on this channel. At the moment the only computer I have that will run fusion 360 does not have the capablity to do any type of zoom style meetings, although I will definately looking into how to make that work for the future. Thanks for watching.
Simple, quick, and best teacher I've seen so far
Thank you, I appreciate that.
