So happy to see someone else quilting in the hoop with Nested Blocks, as opposed to End to End Designs. I just don’t like the 2 ugly ties on top of each other, that we see with End to End QITH. I am hoping that most embroiderers will eventually see how easy this technique is. My technique is slightly different than yours, but it's also very similar. I also use a Ghost Template that I created in Embird Embroidery Software, and then printed on Template material using my Cricut Maker. Here is Part 9 of my Quilt in the Hoop series. Why are you starting at the bottom corner? Many videos starts the stitching in the top corner or centre.

can u put heat n bond lite on back of fabric for appliques

How did you make the template? You just said "stitch out a template". Did the machine memorize the free-form stitching you did so it can repeat it over and over??

This is a really good tutorial. I did have a couple of things, though. You totaly could have used your J foot and done the overcast and seam at the same time to save sewing around the 2nd time, or what about the flat feld hem to keep everything enclosed and laying flat. I really did enjoy your video. You explained everything very well.

I've been sewing/quilting for decades, and I've watched a LOT of tutorials, and this one is very good. Love that you quilted the fabric first. Do you starch fabrics before cutting? I wasn’t sure if it would be helpful or detrimental since we are sewing curves

Ugh! Hooping ANYTHING with even a little thickness can be SO difficult. I prefer magnetic hoops, and use them whenever I can.

Thanks so much. I will be making this soon. Have you thought about a spinning mat? It's challenging to cut upside down! Maybe some grips on the back of the template so they don't move while you cut? Likely all things you know. :)

Thank you for doing this, I've had my HV Sapphire 85 since December 2021. I have not found many videos showing how to use this machine. I like it for sewing, but the embroidery part escapes me. I would love to see more tips and uses for the Sapphire 85. Thank you again.

I am a quilter, not a garment sewer so I do have a couple of questions... one is, can I draw the line longer than 30" to make this a bit longer, like say 32"? And, if I add two more inches to that measurement, I assume I just add two more inches to my line for the front piece, so instead of 27" as stated in the tutorial, it would be 29", correct? And last, can you tell me what batting you used?
