I love the RP1, I still have mine and it works just fine.

This is my favorite distortion pedal of the last 40 years, BUT…it’s terrible fed by a Fender into a Fender. This pedal needs to be fed by humbuckers, even better if it’s feeding an EL84 amp. I’ve had several of these over the years, including an original from the late 70s, all modded, but I fell in love with the original tone. I’m sure the Mesa Boogie Subway Blues helped a bit.

Just to point out that George’s fender rosewood tele was not one of a kind. Fender had made two and picked the best one to give to Harrison.

Love your collection. The most I got to in my own was a 325 Miami Ric ‘64 RI, an Epi Elistist Casino MiJ, and a 2017 Rosewood Tele Harrison RI Sold my ric to Mike Paccheli -wish I had it back! That Ric 425!! Nice

Thanks for showing these Hofners of your collection. I have three, newer German Hofner basses and am now considering getting a German made club guitar as well. How are the single coil pickups, as the type shown here? I mean how are they in terms of tone quality vs how bad is the 60 cycle hum to work around? In this video I didn't really perceive any noticeable noise, perhaps due to the modest volume you're playing at?

Would these have originally come strung with flatwound strings?

They are wonderful one of a kind. Fender makes them now but for bucket loads of money.

Truss rod? John's had strip tuners too..not single tuners. No gap at end of fretboard. Fret markers not uniform ..they got smaller higher up. Hofner missed the boat unfortunately.

The Beatles did not only take a nice, warm vacation in Miami during their first visit to the U.S, they rehearsed and made their second appearance "The Ed Sullivan Show" at the Deauville Beach Hotel Miami Beach on Feb. 16, 1964, to 70 million TV viewers. While they were there, Rickenbacker sent John a new, Jetglow" (black) 325, similar to the originally honey-blonde finished, later crudely painted black 1958 325 "Capri" that he had bought in Hamburg in 1960 and played during The Beatles' first appearance on the Sullivan show. on February 9, 1964. John played the new Rickenbacker during this show but later said that it wasn't as good a his original one. That is why this guitar is called "The Miami Rickenbacker". He soon stopped playing a Rickenbacker altogether and went on to play an Epiphone Casio as did Paul and George. The "Casino" was the Beatles' favourite guitar although they also liked the Fender Stratocaster a lot and used it extensively on "Revolver" and "Sgt. Pepper's", "Magical Mystery Tour", and thereafter.
