We are Bill and Vicki and we live on an island in the beautiful south-west area of Western Australia. When we're not spending time with our wonderful loving family, or working in our garden, we enjoy travelling.
With a treasure trove of townships and countryside to discover, there is a lot to see in this amazing land of ours. And we always try to support the local economy wherever we go, especially the bakeries!
We put our trust 'in safe hands' - our Lord God and Saviour Jesus - as we journey through life.

Back Across Again!
The van is fixed! So we make our way back across Australia to pick it up. We attend a beautiful family wedding and visit some new places (for us). And we have a new car - Bill will do a review video on that soon.

We travel over 1300kms and find some new places to visit. Of course one stop is for our haircuts with 'our' barber Matthew at Wallaroo! I think it was Sirios (spelling?) our relative Private William Nash and his wife arrived on also. It's believed their first child was the first European to be born in Australia

@@tripawayinsafehands The most amazing thought is how Australia as we know it was started from just over a thousand people arriving in seven little wooden boats with only the stars showing the way. I have a mix of the new and the old, First Fleet and First Nations (Yuin, Bega Valley). We also hold the tragic record of the first child of the new colony being the very first European to die from a snake bite. My Yuin ancestors were also among the very first to see Captain Cook's Endeavour come into view. When they saw the white sails from a distance they believed it to be the spirit of the pelican returning to steal their children. Pelicans were seen by Yuin as thieves because they steel the fish the Yuin catch.

Sofala is an interesting place and where you were camped is where the gold dredge worked, which could explain the rock walls. The Black bucket things on the monument are the remains of the chain of buckets which the dredge used to pickup the river gravels for processing.

Love our little piece of paradise down in the Gong. I live a stone's throw (literally) from Corrimal tourist park behind the lagoon on East Corrimal beach.

Yep SA is an amazing state you can spend months travelling the coast line then the same travelling up the river murray then there's the Flinders ranges too , oow go back down again theres kangaroo Island you could spend 1 year travelling around SA if your not in a hurry
