Просмотров 6 тыс.2 года назад
Brief demo of my Lenovo Thinkpad T430, running Mac OS Monterey Update: have ventura running with opencore. WiFi is broken but files are uploaded to my GitHub. github.com/serjykalstryke/T430OpenCoreFiles

We love hackintosh
Hi, I would want to hack my Acer Aspire 7720G. Do you think is it possibile to do?
hi david, is that full hd ips ?
@@UCcdTp7XpCkVLkaRCsDcifFg it sure is :) Probably the most “essential” upgrade if you want to use this thing as a laptop. When I was getting regular use out of it, I had it in a special “thinkpad dock” that Lenovo released around the same time as this. I think it works for the other thinkpads of the era as well. If you want a good “project laptop” that you could, in theory, actually use, things great. I haven’t even “fully upgraded” this one. I haven’t changed out the keyboard or tried to run a GPU yet.
@@MaconaBudget are u using converter kit lvds edp? how durability the converter & the lcd , i stil doubt to mod

Hey sorry for the long time to respond. Actually I have done some work on this guy, and now we are up the Ventura! The description has the GitHub page that has the efi files!
Bro verbose mode is so cool
Yeah it is lol Everyone wants it to be like “stock” but I like that it kind of looks “hacked together”
I'm using monterey but intelhd shows 4mb on vram
Can you show download link?
Check description. My GitHub is SerjykalStryke and it is the most recent repository
That is a fast boot. How? Mine is slow.
Lots of late nights fighting with it. I had an M1 Mac Mini and used that to run MountEFI and Propertree to tweak the plist files. I used the base OpenCore guide and did a lot of comparisons with other folks who have repositories for their thinkpads in GitHub. I did see someone on Reddit who got Sonoma running so I am making a go at getting that running, but either way, once I have it in its final state, I will 100% post a full video of it.
no startup bong lol
good job btw my hackintosh is ventura (ideapad 15iml05)
I think you got a laptop on your Linux distros
Is a real mac
Check the description for the files :)
can i use on T480
Yes
Do it work in Thinkpad t440?
make a video on how to install please i have T430 too
I can teach you
Efi folder please?
Just posted the GitHub link in the description!!!
Also will have a new video on what works and doesn’t work. Currently have a newer Mac OS but WiFi is broken. I can tether to my phone, so whatever, in theory that’s better because now I have a fully mobile laptop, but ya know….
i cant use my touchpad and my extern mouse at hackintosh recovery
idk try find some driver or kext for it
What bootloader are you using?
he's using opencore
Opencore. I used a lot of trial and error and the various sources online to get working.
Cpu Ram and storage specs?
core i5 or i7 500gb hdd 8gb ram
core i7 and 16gb ddr3
Bingo. The best i7 it can have, max ram, 1080p panel. There’s a Wordpress page online if you google for it that goes over what you can do and I’ve done most of that to it. Such a cute little machine :)
Are you develope ios app?
Is that a t400?
T430 Imo the “last good thinkpad” Upgradeable CPU, RAM, and Keyboard and the expansion slot allows for a fair number of fun accessories, namely graphics cards.
Do It work all device's
Yes and no. It depends largely on if Mac OS/Opencore support your hardware. A big point of issue are wireless cards and sound.
Awesome! Please kindly upload your efi folder. I have the same machine but can't get the audio working.
I have the x230, but i didn’t even get beyond the installation bootscreen :(
Thanks.@@justmusic2010
I have updated the description of this video to have a link to a GitHub repo where I have the full efi.
This laptop performance still legit?
It’s….fine. Like it depends on what you want to do. If you want to do some light programming or maybe emulate older video games, sure, it will do you fine, but you’d be better served with Linux. Mac OS performance is pretty finicky, but if you find a version where all the kext files and opencore stuff works with your system, it’s pretty neat just to have. Especially in this machine. I’ve upgraded basically everything except the keyboard. 16GB of ram, the best intel i7 that this thing can handle, along with a fan upgrade. The screen is a better 1080p panel. It’s pretty good….i got through a web development bootcamp using this machine, but at that time I had Fedora on it. Getting Mac OS to work is mostly just to show off that I can do it lol. It is an insane amount of tinkering with variables in the config file just seeing what works and what doesn’t work. Honestly, if you or anyone know of how I might get the WiFi working, I’d love to get the feedback!
Desactive mode Verbose -v
Morgan Freeman: He did nor save the panel 😅 Got a little greedy in the edge and popped it. My point stands that this is possible. Just very hard. I learned a lot from the experience and next time I plan to start at the edge and work in. A strong mental wire would be the ideal tool as you can cut through the glue without applying pressure to the panel. Not a huge loss as I am replacing this display anyways. That is in itself a bit of a fun experiment. I would say removing the cracked glass is worth a shot if you want an old iMac and find a great deal on one with good specs but a cracked display. You are already planning to replace the display right? So you don’t lose anything g if you try this and fail like I did. Failure is the greatest teacher and next time I try this, I will know what to do :) I am using a panel from the late 2015 imac. Again, everyone on the internet, including sellers of these displays swear they just won’t work. But the revision is very minor, just fixing some problems with the 2014 panel. The plugs are the same, so my theory is that at worst, my iMac will just read it as some third party display. Because the data and power cables are 100% the same. (If you look up edp cables, for this model, you can’t even find them individually for either 2014 or 2015. It’s always “late 2014-late 2015”. Power connectors are identical and all plugs are on the same spot on both motherboards. From what I can tell, all the relevant changes are on the display’s end, and there’s nothing about it that the iMac can’t work with.) But I am 99% sure it is just a drop in replacement and I’ll be making some new ground in the Mac repair world. The interesting question is going to be why sellers are so sure it won’t work…my theory is that they do it to keep the cost of the replacement displays up. Probably 90% of what you are paying for with these items a the display Abe you cut that profit margin a lot of it turns out the supply of those sable displays is like 3-5 times as big as everyone things or is. Stay tuned and subscribe to follow my journey in Mac Hacking Happy Hacking and stick to the project budget!
The clunk on those keys is magnificent. How does this work? I know you can hack support onto outdated macs for newer OS updates but I didn’t know you could get it running on just any old hardware.
I’m using Opencore, which is a whole bunch of hacks and workarounds to trick Mac OS into booting and running on pretty much any hardware. This took weeks of trail and error, giving up, remembering why I needed a MacBook (want a unified notes platform for school. In the video you see the iMac, that’s a 2014 5K also running Opencore, updated to Ventura. I use that at home to take notes from my textbooks and the Hacbook goes to class with me. The fun thing about apple thrifting is the utility of it all. At the end of the day I have a beautiful system/ecosystem that can do real work. Though I am willing to sell the Hacbook if anyone is interested! I would like to upgrade to an actual MacBook, like a 2015.
@@MaconaBudgetlove to see it. I’ve been a Linux guy for a years, but I may need to try out some hackintoshing
@@MaconaBudget Do did you upgrade to the MacBook Pro 2015? Did you go with the 13" or 15"? How are you liking it?
