Budget ultralight trekking pole tent: Arixci light 2, my first impressions
This year I am diving head first into the ultralight direction. Loosing heavy items in my kit and trying to have 5-10kg on my back on longer hikes.
In this video I glance over my first experience with this budget tent, which costed around 100 EUR. I bought it to see if the trekking pole tent as a concept works for me and to be fair - I am happy so far.
What I know now, it's a decent item (for the money) for the dry weather and only time will tell, how it behaves in the rain and other conditions. It has some issues that are not critical for me at the moment, because I look at it as an upgraded tarp setup, but more testing will be done in different conditions.
Stay tuned - there will be more:)...

How to start hiking? My key beginner hiking tips + animal tracking in the swamp
Просмотров 1082 года назад
Spent the weekend in the village and used the last glimpse of snowy ground to mark the tracks of animals in as many different fields as I could. Great success. Now I have more places to put a hide or go stalk than I have free time in the summer 🥲 During that I summarised a few tips, that are useful for beginner or wannabe hikers who are thinking "How to start hiking?" - I hope you'll get some a...
3 days in the village: scouting, stalking and what gear do I carry with me | Pt. 1 of 2
Просмотров 2162 года назад
This is the part 1 in the short video series from my recent stay in the village. I had a few days in the beginning of October when I could leave the city and spend some time around the house. Although I had to be working during daytime - I used most of the mornings and evenings to explore the surroundings and animals. I was not disappointed as the fields and forest around the village are quite ...
Scouting for animal tracks and remembering to walk silently
Просмотров 1513 года назад
Originaly the rendered video is called Poop map, because that's what I had after the whole day of slowly walking in two different corners of a big forest. I've spent the morning in a swampy place and the afternoon - in the sandy forest, hoping to find the tracks and other signs of animals. And each time I found some - I marked their coordinates for future planning and most probably - hide place...
Trying my DIY Photography blind & learning ropes of wildlife photography - my first day out
Просмотров 4,7 тыс.3 года назад
This morning I went out to a small creek to try out my DIY photography blind, which I made from an old tent. As a wildlife photography beginner that was the first thing that came to my mind equipment wise. Well, it's a painted old tent and I was curious, how it can suit this purpose. Spoiler alert - it is noisy, but works nicely, especialy for the entry level. With no other blind experience it ...

Hi, have you ever tried it in the rain or wind? How does it behave in such conditions?

Hey! Sorry for the late reply 🙃 I would not trust it for a big storm - the material is less waterproof than I expected and it started dripping after a light rain during the night. Wind - did not have huge wind in my area, but it all comes down to how well you will tension it. If I know, that weather will be bad and I don't want to endure/suffer - I will bring another tent. Otherwise - this is my regular choice as it has great ventilation and has decent weight.

Informatyvus video.

10/10 Maybe few more cinematic shots when talking would be great. Just a thought.

Noted the same thing for the future videos - still fighting myself to take the camera out sometimes, but for sure agree on this point. Thank you for noting it as well! :) It's a pitty that it's a drone restricted zone - otherwise there would be way more context shots.

Great video. Home-made blinds or hides are great fun. I have been making them for over 30 years, and they don't have to be camo. have made them out of loads of different materials - even some were out of orange tarp! Wildlife is not upset upset by colours- but by movement. It's other people that they have to be made inconspicuous from. Have fun.

Thanks! When hiding from people - a universal approach is just not to look like one or like something worth visiting :) animals, trully, are forgiving. I am amazed how close I can drive to the animals and they stand there, still. But just as I move my hands off the wheel towards the camera... the sharade is over and they run run run 😁

Nice video! I have never tried a belt pack but now I am interested 😁. For tactical minimalist trips (usually tenkara fishing) I use sling packs or hip packs, but what you were presenting looks comfortable. Looking forward for the second part.

Thanks, mate! Sling packs and hip packs are cool as well. When on videography sets, I Iove using my slingpack which also can double as a camera stand. However, for nature photography I am more of a belt kind of guy and I'm already thinking about new (military belt system) setup as Decathlon's belt might not take another session of crawling really well 😁

Hi Mantas! Great video, really loving the BTS Angles You were able to capture. I recently started vlogging myself therefore I know how hard it is ; ) To my point: blinds are by far the best way to photograph wildlife BUT You need set in up in a propoerly scouted location. What do I mean by that? it's worth to go around with the binoculars and spot where does the wildlfie spend it's time. Is there maybe a stick that a small bird uses to sing often? or maybe a patch that roe deer use to go from the forest to the farm fields. It;s also highly beneficial for You to learn wildlife's behavior, and bird calls! When You do that Your photography will drastically improve! Greetings from Poland ;)

Could not agree more - nets and natural camouflage as well as simple solutions most often work super well! I would see some benefit in the bigger blind as I could do my day job in it but let's start tracking animals and birds first :)
