That looks like a well. It looks like it was at least updated in the 50s~70s. The well could have been driven in before that, may even be original. Here in the states it was super common in the 30s~50s to install a 2"~3" submersible pump into a hand pump well. Some of those driven well from the 1700s~1800s can be up to around 60m deep. There should be an outer pipe maybe 15cm in the ground with that 2" pipe and the wire going into it. You can usually just get a couple of strong guys and pull it up and out. If its more than 15m deep, I would use it for water. With the amount of limestone and granite in the ground in the UK that water must be excellent. Chlorinated Municipal water, that stuff is for the birds. As long as cesspools aren't in common use, that should be the cleanest water can get.

What do you do when you discover something like this? Do you have to contact/inform officials of some sort? Like building officials to update documents about the layout of the house? Or the cops to come check there aren't any dead bodies buried under the concrete? LOL

Add that to a built-in audience gained from said podcast. Fans, especially ones who were there "from the beginning" will support them like a proud parent, already biased to laugh at whatever they say, particularly if it's based on an inside joke from/ idea planted during the podcast.

I literally came from Instagram to see how much MORE for this never ending basement lol

It looks remarkably like an old fashioned kitchen. I've seen this in the Stroud Mansion (Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania) and in the Morris-Jumell Mansion (Manhattan, New York, New York.) From recreations that I have seen, that fireplace would have cook the meals. There would have been cauldrons in there to cook and keep food warm. A table for cutting vegetables and meats would have been in front. A spot to let the cabbage ferment to make sauerkraut. A table for kneeding bread. A doughbox wherein the dough for bread would be set to rise. A sourdough yeast would be left as a starter and would be stored in a crock. A traditional Georgian style kitchen is my best guess for what that room for which that room might have been used. It's just an educated guess from all old geek into antiques and historical places.

OMG, a LOT of work to do here. I once bought a (not so old as yours) Mansion and it was a damn lot of work to rebuild and modernize... Good to have some friends who know what they do.
