To get the shock cord out, you will need to locate the knot and either untie it or cut it and then you can pull it out of the poles.

The issue with connecting is that no one would know exactly what you have and don't have on your van or how you want to use it as there are so many different ways to connect - as with all awnings. A campervan awning is a universal product which fits a lot of different vans, so the ways in which it can fix will vary. Taken from the OLPRO website (and it's not exhaustive): There are several ways you can attach your awning to your vehicle. Listed below, are the most popular methods to attach your drive away awning. Straps Straps can be used to attach the awning to the van by throwing them over and pegging them down the other side. This is also the easiest option. Straps are also suitable for your Pop top van, you just place the straps either side of the pop top (One in front and one behind) and peg them down as normal. Once strapped over the pegs for the tunnel are usually pegged in just under the campervan giving you a right fit. To leave site you can disconnect the buckles allowing the awning to freestand and you to driveaway. For vehicles with gutters; by using the Figure of 8, you can ensure a tight seal in a small amount of time. All you have to do is, feed through the awning cord (Beading) into the figure of 8 on one side and then slot the figure of 8 onto the camper van guttering. For Camper-vans with shallow gutter rails or roof-rails or as an alternative to vehicles with gutters. Some early VW vans have got a shallow gutter, where using a pole and clamp kit will be a better option. The majority of awnings have a pole sleeve on the tunnel of the awning. A pole would be fed through the pole sleeve and then placed in the gutter and fixed down using the clamps. For Camper-vans with wind out awnings (Fiamma, omnistore etc) If your vehicle has a wind out awning. Then you can use the awning channel built into this to attach your awning. You will need some lengths of Figure 8 and a few metres of Kador. Locate the awning channel on your wind out awning, For 2011 Fiamma Awnings will have 2 of these awning channels. On other awnings this awning channel maybe less obvious and mounted behind the rail. All that is left to do is attach the awning to the your wind out awning and roll your wind out awning back in. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MAY REQUIRE A SPECIAL KADOR AS THE AWNING CHANNEL ON A WIND OUT AWNING IS ONLY 4MM IN DIAMETER. Other Methods You can also use Suction cups (Dent Pullers) which fasten to the awning and then the suction cup gets stuck to the van holding the awning securely in place. Magnetic strips usually come with a figure of 8. This allows you to attach the awning to the figure of 8 and the magnet sticks the van holding the awning in place. Magnetic strips are not advisable as they could damage your camper by leaving deep scratches from moving around. In terms of whether to connect before inflating - I would - but the next person wouldn't. It is down to personal choice. Both ways work.

Hello, all of our Campervan Awnings are drive away which means you can simply detach the awning from your vehicle for days out and then reconnect the awning when you return :)

The magnetic strip is fine if it's not too windy, or if you're also strapping over the van, but if you do have a rail you'll have a much strong fitting for your awning.

You don't. It does come with straps so you can pitch over the van, so you can fix without needing an awning rail.

We have a figure of eight strip attached to our rain gutter, you can then buy a Kador strip to connect but…we find it easier and more secure to throw the straps over the top of the van and peg them in.

Hi, we don't sell rails but we do sell a magnetic driveaway kit that attaches to the roof of your van (as long as it is metal and not obstructed at the edges). The kit will work with all of our awnings. Please note: if your van is taller than 250cm (no taller than 290) you will need an XL awning.

Hi Reuben, there should be two loops on either side at the bottom of the tunnel, these loops can be pegged down. We'd recommend pegging down the loops under the van, this should then make your tunnel tighter to the van and should erase that wide gap. ☺

@StandOutTV I have pegged them down under the van but still have a gap I can almost get through I will figure it out thanks for your advice and reply
