Miele washing in slow motion
Miele W828 washing and rinsing in slow motion. Pretty interesting watch
Separately the 4 clips are about 3-7 minutes roughly but a lot longer in slow motion which is why video is longer then expected. Two of the 4 clip have minor flickers with the lighting so watch with caution if flickering lights cause issues.
Cycle used if interested was Cottons short 30 or 40 can’t remember. Maximum rinse is enabled in special settings so all rinses are deep.

Washing some work clothes on the regular eco mode which does 4 levels of agitation and thought a slow mo of the strongest agitation would be cool wasn’t disappointed. Towards the end of the video you get the normal video of the strong agitation. Only occurs twice for 4 minutes each time in the 40 minute agitation of the regular eco mode. Shame the agitation isn’t like this on standard deep mode...

Suddy!
My nan has this machine but it has 1100rpm spin which sounds like the older machines and it has a grey lid and dial to control the cycles, Nice!
It sounds like an aeroplane when slowing down
Who can repair them
No rollover, I would not buy this machine.
@@davidadkison4702 This machine does have rollover just not as fast as a speed queen or it’s main competitor Fisher and Paykel. It’s been a good performing machine and continues to be after 10 years. Only if I add a shirt too many it’s might not rinse thoroughly as the deep rinse agitation is a minute too short in my opinion. And overall the machine lacks a well programmed shorter wash for the rare occasion we would benefit from it.
@@simpsonauto850Isn't this basically just the Aussie version of the Fisher and Paykels anyways? The agitator looks pretty much the same to the F&P design, but it doesn't have the adjustable agitation strength.
These newer Simpsons the agitator action in each direction rotates double the speed compared to the old machines
@@mrtisan29 I think they wash more effectively than older models.
@@simpsonauto850 Right
is this direct drive?
Yes but it sounds like an induction motor to me, not the BLDC motor design that Fisher and Paykel use
Direct Drive motor
Is model the on with the direct drive motor?
I used to have this but the 9kg ✌️
@PetCin88 I’ve got the 2014 8.5kg version which is same as 9.5kg. There’s vids of it on my channel. I’m interested in the new Westinghouse’s but unsure how it compares to older models wash and noise wise. Rest is basically the same as Simpsons. Which is why I would love some more clips if you are able to film them. 😊
It's a great washing machine this one, yours even works without the lid!
Not my machine. They wired it to work without the lid as it went missing in one of the house moves. It was a decent model. I don’t like plastic tub though.
Goes well!
Nice ❤
Enjoyed seeing how the agitator moves in slow motion! The way the water slashes back and forth is pretty cool as well. Great video!
Does it inspire you to try it? I would love to see snippets of the Maytag, Whirlpool and Gentle Anne all in slow motion. Surprised that there isn’t more to be honest.
@@simpsonauto850 I have considered that in the past. Maybe I'll make a compilation video of the machines, we'll see.
Where is the pump filter for this washing machine, because mine keeps leaking from the laundry powder case.
I don’t think this has a pump filter from my knowledge. But there should be a hose that links from the drum to the inlet and if that gets blocked it may cause issues on water getting into the machine. It designed to stop the pressure that can occur because it needs to fully seal the door otherwise it will leak. I hope this helps. Taking the top off will reveal the hoses. Another thing is if water pressure is high could also be a issue. I had that with our old front loader. Also I don’t own or use one of these so I don’t know much on them. What I said is based on other front loaders and RUclips research.
Love that motor sound
Good 😊
Is that wt-h550
Yep later version. 2017. Of all LG I’ve used definitely dislike this one.
This washer needs to go to school 🏫
Not sure what you mean by that, but I think there are some poor programming with these models and the previous range.

@@simpsonauto850do you still have this machine?
How old is this machine?
9+ years old and still washing great. Had a repair done recently which I will upload the details on soon.
Bro got the piece of crap machine. Front loaders are like 1400rpm instead of this shit machine which is inefficient
@aegwasherndryrer I have a front loader, I’ve used other front loaders and I have to say that this machine does a great job in half the time a front loader would have. As for the spin I think it’s perfect especially for towels the Miele is hard on towels. This machine replaced a much hated front loader many years ago. Yes the water and hot water energy use might be poor but at the moment I still prefer the performance and wash action over a front loader and the reliability against leaking. Fortunately our water bill is cheap and our energy bill isn’t as bad as others yet.
Yes but European front loaders are like amazing and no one can change that. These use too much water and only 800rpm spin? That is for 4kg not 14
@@aegwasherndryrer Australian households mainly had top loaders right from the start of automatic washing machines. Wasn’t really until the 1990’s or more 2000’s that front loaders become more popular and widely available. And now with water bills on the rise in certain areas front loaders are much more popular than top loaders. But for some they prefer the classic action of a top loaders or the easy loading and time saving. Sure front loaders technically have shorter quick washes than top loaders it’s not really good for big loads and really only for refreshing or washing light soiled medium loads. As I said I had a front loader as an everyday machine hated it with a passion. So went back to top loader when it broke early in age I might add and have loved/liked it for 9 years. And will be getting another in the near or far future. I inherited a German made Miele Front loader off a friend 12 months ago and although it’s 25 years old still works well. I don’t see much difference in performance if anything the top loader removes the pretreated stains better than the front loader however the front loader does cope well with rather full loads compared to the top loader and rinses well. But I find it leaves towels a but stiff and needs to be fluffed up in the dryer. Have no issue with top loader.
@@aegwasherndryrer I have used other front loaders recently and I don’t hate them I just find the reliability hasn’t compared with the top loaders most of the people I know have. And the performance doesn’t wow me anymore than a top loader. And I’m fussy with the rinses on front loaders too, unless I see visible water levels in rinse I won’t trust it’s rinsing performances. Some don’t use much if any more then the wash level which is also low on some. I modified my Miele to use max water in rinses and always have water plus selected for max level in the wash. You can keep your front loaders and I will keep my top loaders.
@@simpsonauto850 ya but most machines use more water ofc
How do i power the machine on? Mine doesn't power on.. Does it need to have water inside first to power on?? maybe that's why
Is the power connected? Lid shut? If still not working a fuse might be blown. They usually start by filling then will agitate unless on soak.
You know those 2 screws that hold the inner bowl In place, do you turn them left or right to get the tub out?
I would think left but I could be wrong. I tried both ways with ours no luck I think the dirt has seized ours.
My rental place have a similar machine and follow the instructions as per your video but no water come out. Have check the water tap and power is all on. Can you please advise how to operate that? Thanks!
If you put it on spin does that work or select hot if cold was only selected? Values might be bad or lid switch faulty. To start machine you push knob in select cycle then pull out you would have saw that in the video. If nothing happened it might be faulty. The tap itself could be faulty although rare fault.
Where is the filter
As far as I know it doesn’t have one. You can buy a lint filter to put in the agitator.
I’m surprised to see that it doesn’t make the chugging noise when it’s spinning
I think about that to. It’s most likely due to a new drain hose. Because it used to with original hose. Newer hose one is longer and more water sits in it, probably reducing the chugging sound.
Why my WM is stopping when I opening the lid?
Because all machines have some sort of lid switch. This one has a magnetic based switch. I disabled it using another magnet for the purpose of the video. My personal Simpson lid switch is the lid lock. Other makes might have buttons or levers that get push in when lid is shut.
However some might not stop when filling and sometimes agitating.
Iv never seen a washer that works with the lid open???? Very weird,,😕😕😕😱😱
It’s a magnetic lid switch. So I used a magnet to operate with the lid open. Obviously it’s not recommended to use without lid but it’s only for the video. It good to know this if it wasn’t doing something right you could just check with lid up.
Love this machine! ALways been of a fan of this era or mieles. The Water Plus option i believe can be adapted through a further settings menu. You'll have to consult the manual for the machine you can get online and see how you do it on this one. You should be able to change it so it either adds an extra rinse (default setting) or adds extra rinse plus extra water. There is usually an option to select Maximum Rinse Level too in the further settings bit.
I am a fan of older miele’s wouldn’t own a current model though. I love the models with the silent dc motors and more options. This one although good quality and basic, lacks a couple of things. For me personally I would love a 800/900 spin, but for what it is I’m happy with it especially considering I got it for free and replaced the bad part ($50) and is running like new for a 20 year old machine. I’m also going to have a look at the water plus options and consider changing what it does. When I was first using this machine I was wondering why I barely noticed a difference. I have since activated the maximum rinse level so all rinses are deep which I love. Also going to activate cool-down top up rinse for above 75C as it appears deactivated when I did a 75C wash.
Nice vid, thanks for uploading. I like these late Novotronic Basic W8xx models, I had a few of them some years ago, the W842 you can find vid's of it on my channel. It's always good to change the shockabsorbers in these then they are worn down as beside scratching the door glass it can also risk blowing the fuse and motor relay on the EL200 board, it's a very common fault on these EL200 boards it's very easy to repair if it ever should happen. Beside this common fault they are very reliable and built like a tank 🙂
I’ve read about the blowing relay thing which is why I wasn’t going to use with bad shocks. I did 2 test washes before replacement of the shocks and have done 18 loads since replacement and a massive difference for sure I didn’t buy genuine I don’t think as I got the cheapest ones I could find for model and due it age and minimal use wasn’t going to spend more on genuine. I don’t know how long it was used with bad shocks before they stopped using, but I’m glad to have it instead of it at the dump knowing it was working. It was sitting unused for 3 years so even though it 23 years I see it as a 20 year old machine. I definitely think it’s got a good couple of years in it but time will tell it won’t get heavy use as it’s not an everyday machine it’s more for the grubby stuff that I don’t want in top loader and for things I think could use a good hot wash or quick/short wash (since top load has lengthy cycles). It will probably average 1 load a week.
Also for detergents do you prefer powder or liquid? Or even capsules? I don’t like powder in top loader much. I tend to use liquid or now capsules since they have really taken off in Australia now. Currently use a mix of detergent brands in the front loader but mainly powder to start as I love the scent of it and not the liquid version. I think the video should have shown the powder I used. It’s not strong smelling after the load is finished but smell nice and not overpowering in box. But otherwise I will probably use what I have for the top loader with the exception for powder here and there as there is a couple I want to try.
@@simpsonauto850 When it comes to detergents I always use powder then washing whites, and a mix of liquid or powder for colours. Generally powders are better for the machine as they don’t leave as much gunk and dirt like liquids tends to do, especially if frequent low temps are used
@@Electroluxwasher low temp cycles won’t be the norm. 60C will be used most for my needs.
Q maquina é essa adorei 😮
A Simpson made for Australian and New Zealand market very popular model.
I will take some requests on cycles and loads you want to see in action. But I won’t do full cycles and it won’t be straight away. I have a Quick wash cycle coming up soon and a load of my work stuff I plan to film after that. I’m going to look at a tripod for my phone. Also another thing videos will be in square as my phone has camera issues it will stay this way until I get a new phone or maybe iPad.
This machine does have a sort of similar build to the Kelvinator K605 I had, especially considering it has an electronic control panel, it even has the Eco Rinse option as mine did. I wish I still had that machine. I do have a video of an Esprit 550 to upload soon, and those machines are great in my opinion. Nice video!
The eziset range came out after the encore (which yours was) and is basically the same the early models had the same motor I believe. This one is from 2006 but they were sold between 2004-2011 with slight changes.
My esprit 750 stopped at every cycle , like when it take water from tap it stopped after full then have to open and close the lid in order to agitator to work. Any help what's wrong here ??? Thanks
Possible timer issue. Ours did something similar when we had one 15 years ago. I used one recently that had something blown in the board and wouldn’t do anything except fill or drain. But you said yours will work if you open and shut lid so it’s definitely the timer failing to kickstart.
@@simpsonauto850 thank you 👍
It's very quiet compared to the old models, I'm surprised
What's the maximum speed of this machine?
850rpm it’s pretty effective. I wish they went to 900 like the EZIsensors were.
@@simpsonauto850 Wow, that is very fast.
@@LoganT547 not Fisher and Paykel fast. They spin at 1000-1100rpm much faster than the 650-800 average.
One feature of these belt drive type machines is why do they speed up then slow down several times before actually doing the spin? Seems to be the same process on Hoovers with the power pulse system.
I find it annoying sometimes to. I think it’s to reduce strain on the motor as the pump is pumping the water out and the motor is trying to spin a load of clothes. A lot of current washing machines do a slow ramp up or pulse ramp up spins. My machine is the worst for this. It does 150-200rpm? For 6 minutes then goes a little faster for a further 3 minutes then does the main ramp up to spin and on final it rapidly ramps up after doing 8 minutes of slow spinning. All up it spends about 30 minutes roughly in spin mode and 15-25 minutes agitation depending on cycle chosen.
Simpson seem to now be selling their machines as 6,7,8,9,10,11,12kg however I cant find out if the 6 and 7 kg are direct drive or the older belt drive system, the PDF states that they have an induction motor which is fairly normal but on the 9kg and up it's an inverter motor so it does sound as if the lower KG machines are the aging belt drive system, I am interested if you know any details about their current range?
The 6, 7 and 8kg have a belt driven system the 8kg is slightly different to the 6 and 7kg. I don’t love the belt driven ones much but the 6 and 7kg are better than the 8kg in my opinion.

Yes it does. Some use magnetics, some buttons or levers, or the lid lock as the lid switch.
It’s nice to see you upload. Welcome back!
Thanks. I will do my best to upload every so often now with a video editor that works. I am always active on RUclips just don’t upload much. I won’t upload a lot but I will try to do it at least a couple of videos a year for now. I’m more active on my Instagram if you have an account.
Hey SIMPSONAUTO850. How did you bypass the lid lock? What did you put in there? We have the Simpson SWT1043 top loader that also has the latch on the lid but also want to see the machine operate but unsure what to put in the lid lock to trick the machine.
The safest thing I think is a plastic teaspoon/disposable cutlery teaspoon. Otherwise try a icy pole stick or straw they will work to. I have had issues sometimes when the lid lock engages for the spin but not with the plastic teaspoon.
I would love to see the action on your machine if you can video it.
@@simpsonauto850 I will try these methods and see if it works. My Simpson top loader is a different model than yours so maybe they have made it harder. The only thing is i am not sure whether it will work those methods because once you start the cycle the machine makes a clicking sound to let you know the lid is locked. When you try and lift the lid it's like it is locked/jammed. So it seems something is grabbing onto the lid to prevent it from opening. If you put a spoon in there it won't grab onto the spoon. However i will still try it when we do the cycle next. Hopefully it is the same as your machine.
@@simpsonauto850 Yes absolutely if i can figure out how to do it. Our machine is ok. I hate the active boost feature crap it has on it. Our next machine might the same Simpson but the 11kg version as that doesn't have activeboost. Or maybe Simpson might bring in some new models later on then we can look at those.
@@usernamechecksout8491 I have used the spoon method while the lid is locked. I hate/like the new models, they have good programming and quick options but has a internal hose on all the bigger models with detergent dispenser that’s prone to splitting. It links from the dispenser to the drum and it’s plastic not rubber.
warm water
I'm guessing you're trying to say to use warm water. Now again this is not my machine they only every use cold they did try warm briefly but the hot water tap/hose is leaking. I would love for them to own a front loader but I don't know the chances of that happening.
i like to see a empty load on the regular cycle medium water level
Sorry not my machine, and this machine only does strictly full loads because they are on tank water so they need to be careful how much they use. Especially since this machine use over 160 litres per wash. The only empty it might do is a much needed tub clean but if that does happen I probably wouldn't film it for RUclips.
Hey. I see you haven’t uploaded in a while. Is everything ok?
Yes I just haven’t got much content. I have 2 videos but haven’t got around to editing them. I also don’t have a great camera to film with that make it hard. I have an Instagram account with the same name which I upload to regularly. It has more dishwashers than washing machines.
