@@Artistry.of.earthen.arts. sure, a fume board pushes the bees down to the bottom or out the front so we can pull the top honey supers. It’s safe for the bees and they will go back inside.

next step is to put it back on the hive. The bees were moved to the mountains chasing the sourwood honey flow. Drawn out comb will help them complete these honey frames a lot quicker.

How many frames does your holding tank take?
It will hold 30 frames and includes the wire mesh that other models don't include. We got ours from dancingbeeequipmentusa.com in Dec. Price is higher now but works better than plastic totes we used last year.

What paint do you use ? Any exterior paint ?
We use a good primer and then two coats of exterior acrylic latex. Due to the boxes being in the elements almost year round we use good paint to extend the life of the boxes.

Is the paint just to make it look nice or does it serve a functional purpose?
We paint them to protect the wood so they don't rot. Most of the deep boxes are in the elements year round and want them to last as long as possible.
Where do you get you're hives?
I order some online but also have local suppliers I meet with and can get them cheaper. Check with a local bee club and I'm sure someone can help.

tree? no--It doesn't bother the queen at all. Only a small dab of paint. We still have a queen from two years ago that was marked.

Love Honey Bee's they make us a nice life. Food, light, flavor, I got onto TEMU and I redone the front porch in Honey Bee's pillows, flowers, Bee sine, three big medial hangers flowers another sine , big Honey bee's and flower plant hanger medial, shoe holder with bee's. Ok it's a very warm inviting hang out area for summer.
