    YES!!!! We have been through a couple of designers that will spend many weeks working on a full blown computer modelled design only to have us shoot it down. Drives me freakin' nuts. Work WITH me! Tell me your ideas! Then they get pissy at all the time they've spent and start wanting more money. Just seems like a cash cow, get paid to draw whatever you feel like and just keep asking for more. I don't actually think that's what is happening but it sure seems damn inefficient. A waste of both mine and their time as well as my money.

    Do architects sketch with HVAC and building codes in mind? I figured if If they love the layout with no major gaps you can rearrange toilet closets and windows without changing the structure.

    • @visbeenarchitectsinc
      @visbeenarchitectsinc 8 дней назад

      Every architect is a little different! We design with HVAC and codes in mind because it allows us to find efficiencies for our clients. HVAC placement dictates the way you can stack the structure, and (depending on the what the client wants) you can minimize the ductwork and lower the cost per square foot. To your point, it's not uncommon for clients to see their home under construction and want to make modifications. There are a a few factors that decide if those changes are feasible, HVAC and codes being some of them.

    It would be interesting to see your drawing rendered like the AI's, to get a better idea of what your house would look like exterior-wise. I actually like the AI house, it reminds me of mid-century modern houses like Twin Palms (formerly owned by Sinatra).

    Architects should be banned from using regular mathematical shapes (squares, othe squares, more squares, rectangles, triangles, circles, ovals, hexagons, pentagrams, ...you get it). You already understand that all of those go through the squarehole when you`re less than 1 year old. (it`s not a proof of skill or knowledge after 25-30 years of growing up and studying on Earth) Also architects should be banned from using natural shapes since there are too many examples in nature to fall back on, therefore it counts as cheating.

    • @visbeenarchitectsinc
      @visbeenarchitectsinc 3 месяца назад

      Do you have any examples of architects who've designed something without regular mathematical shapes? We'd be fascinated to see what that looks like.

    • @seculi7757
      @seculi7757 3 месяца назад

      @@visbeenarchitectsinc I`m fascinated why you didn`t say, "or natural shapes." (like that`s not even considered remotely possible anymore.) Or say that`s not possible because i included all potential shapes. The point i was making is that humanity got further than just drawing squares in 6000 years of architecture. Yet you start drawing 4 squares. Yes you are somewhat bound for practical reasons to make neatly combinable/stackable shapes. But somehow since WW2 there has been a "movement" of sorts that rudimentary shapes are the only thing possible. And now you "verify" an AI on the basis of our current lowest common demoninated shape (square) "movement" whether it "knows/understands" architecture. Maybe the AI perfectly understands Gaudi, and doesn`t really understand why everything should be square, which would perfectly prove it`s intelligence. btw Farms are oftenly in that middle area.

    • @visbeenarchitectsinc
      @visbeenarchitectsinc 3 месяца назад

      We said regular mathematical shapes because that what you brought up and were interested in seeing examples of your first statement.

    • @seculi7757
      @seculi7757 3 месяца назад

      @@visbeenarchitectsinc I`ve already answered this question. I brought up more than just that statement. Maybe you need to think outside the square to understand my answer. btw My favorite architect is probably Berlage, who kept things relatively efficiently costing while making everything look not so square/same at the same time. (Gaudi+FLW for the masses)
