Very nice video and thanks for sharing! I have passed through Rocky Ford at times in the past but never spent the night in the cozy town. I was last there at night in May to get some gas before heading out of town on Rt. 71 towards Rt. 350.

You've got your videos messed up. From Alamos, it's flat and high desert until Ft Garland. Then you make the climb to La Veta pass. Maybe you mean from Walsenburg to Alamosa.

Does anyone remember Lowell Thomas? Many decades ago, we toured his boyhood home there in Victor. My dad and I saw him in the Colorado Springs rodeo parade, and in his final years, my R.N. sister cared for him in a Denver hospital.

Thank you so much for sharing this. My family is from there. We moved to California in 1982. I was tearing up watching it. My dad is buried there, and when you drove the cemetery that really touched me. At the end of the video, you did a u turn where the police station is. The red brick 2 story house on the corner, next block is right next to my old house. If possible, I would love to see something about the Koshares.

Thanks for the video! I drove through these tunnels twice a day, 5 to 6 days a week when I commuted from Idaho Springs to Frisco. Winter was a lot fun ...there were always idiots who would drive up through a snow storm, speed through the tunnel and seemingly expect the road to be clear and dry on the other side. Not once did I see it happen, but witnessed many near crashes. I think that statute of limitations is over now, so I can admit one Christmas Day at 2 am hitting 95 MPH eastbound..roads were dry!

Thanks for the video! I lived on base (Fort Carson) in the late ’60s and remember making a looong bike ride down to Butts Field one hot summer day. Hardly any traffic, some farming vehicles mostly and I seem to recall the field had a couple of hangers and that was about it. We watched some guys try to launch a weather balloon and it was so windy it popped! Not a fun ride back home against the wind.
