Suko
An introduction to the Suko number puzzle, created by Kobayaashi Studios. Suko puzzles are similar to Sujiko puzzles, but with more clues. These puzzles feature in the Times, Telegraph and Sun newspapers in the UK, as well as appearing in a number of other publications, and on free-to-use educational sites online.

    Can you explain why the middle has to be 7 less than the bottom right please.

      This is because the total of the lower-left quadrant is 23; that, plus the 5 given makes a total of 28; this leaves 17 unaccounted for (the total of 1+2+3+...9=45) in the remaining 4 spaces; if those spaces (3 from the top-right quadrant, and the bottom-right square)=17, and the top-right quadrant as a whole = 10, then the bottom right must be 7 more than the centre. To make this easier (I'm not that hot at explaining), if the spaces were lettered like so : ABC DEF GHI then (B+C+F)+I=17 and (B+C+F)+E=10 so I is 7 greater than E. Hope I didn't make things worse! :)
