I will admit on Thursday night when the fire alarms went off 30 minutes into the first official event, I knew this was going to be a sign of things to come. As this Furcation went on, venue operations and management’s attitude towards the event started to unfold. They even closed the bar on Tuesday despite plenty of people still hanging around, I knew they wanted us gone as quickly as possible and that we were not being welcome back. Not even a day after I got back home, the statement was released. I have been attending Furcation since it first started in 2016 (missed one year) and although it was great to see how much it has grown, internal staff of Furcation and Sandford Holiday Park have really caused struggle to pick up the pieces. And Parkdean’s reasoning for not welcoming Furcation back is painfully simple. They are a corporation that are trying to uphold a certain company image & family friendly factor to their chain, meaning they don’t want what happened at Furcation to damage their said image. I feel like Furcation would be better off at a Haven park as they also cater at couples and there are key differences in their brand image. I do hope that Furcation will bounce back from this despite internal issues because if it goes, it’s going to be a bigger burden on the other major events in the UK that are struggling to cope with the numbers.

The weather being out of control is precisely why I don't organize a con at a national safaripark. I got the contacts. I got the knowhow (I co-run another con). The area is beautiful and as I worked at that place for years I know what's possible and what's not. Staff is friendly. Arrangements outside resorts in terms of activities can be arranged. Its honestly pretty darn good overall. But its infrastucture does not befit a furry con, and though you can always solve problems, its ultimately not worth it. Too big. Too much open weather. A place where you can organize as decisively as you want, but will fall flat when the cards are against you. Events? Yeah, possible, because then you don't need the whole venue (just the event centre really, or the event lodge at the back that most venue staff don't even know about...yeah I was *that* ingrained in that place XD). A whole ass con? No. Thought about it, calmly, gave it a long while, and decided, nah. The venue is so, *so* important, arguably one of the hardest parts of organizing a furcon because its one of the very few elements that have to be handled outside the benefits and talents of the fandom. It sets the tone for everything. I don't know about Furcation myself, but it sucks to hear this because to me its another con who couldn't make the cut. I've seen cons either go down or almost go down due to venue issues, and I don't wish that upon anybody who's has the will, drive and balls to set *anything* up in the first place.

Seeing this go off (I was in the meme chat) has been really hard and opened a lot of old wounds. I used to be staff from 2017 (they voted me in at the event) to just before the 2022 event. I'm a little surprised you mentioned the meme chat but not the staff speaking up in there... The issues are old and long, and the con's attitude toward volunteers is the worst I've ever seen. There have been a bunch of mass resignations over it since 2018 and nothing's ever really changed except more paranoia and finger-pointing. The staff joining the meme chat, attacking and threatening people - the big shouty badly-taken Twitter post about banning everyone in the meme chat ... the con has not conducted itself well at all, and I hope the management take a long hard look at how their actions led up to this. But given that I approached them and the response I got was lies, threats, abuse and gaslighting - I don't know if they have it in them to fix the culture of the con. It won't be easy or quick. But I hope they do.

went there myself suited and all. liked your video tho a few things you did claim actually aren't true 1)all the telegram groups are still up and running (never closed) 2)no ambulance was ever present nor where the police the sex party was shut down almost immidiately )according to the guy who ran it and was asked to leave 3) the thing that did happen which caused the venue to not renew the contract was that someone decided to smash up there room. i am curious about your accom claims tho as they were all spotness and had a shower as where all the other ones we went too. as for the arcade yep they messed up they assumed it would be open for the con so didn't negotiate into their contract yep they were poorly stocked on food i'll admit. the main issue for me was that the con had no fans for suiters and the fursuit lounge was hotter then satans armpit. and the saturday night the heating was on full blast that it was to hot to suit (and i've done EF i'll full suit outside in hight of summer weather) like i said great video but largely wrong you've been getting second hand information and clearly not a suiter or know someone who was (as we were all complained about it) and you didn't touch on the subject please don't take my comment as an insult

I was there on the weekend, I found pills in my brand new jacket I brought from the dealers den so had to go to welfare to file stuff. Other than that, I had fun lol It was my first ever furcon but man it was a bit chaotic haha

The ambulance on first day was due to a Freind of mine needing a insulin sugar attack sadly. But rest yer was bad. I did get to dj my monday slot witch was nice. and dealers den and seeing fur freinds was cool. Also park dean put up the prices for food too each day on the app. Nice old Footage or 2016 tho in this video.

I know almost nothing about Furry conventions other than horror stories that I see in YT vids like this. Would be nice to see a positive video about furry's but it's always the same shit lmao Nice video :)
