This is a great video, and I think it could happen. First of with the Tampa extension, I agree with the Tampa location but for the Lakeland station, Brightline might reuse some of the studies from the original Florida High Speed Rail, which called for a station in Polk County near the near USF Polytechnic. Now specifically with the potential Jacksonville extension, there is actually plans for a commuter train between Jacksonville and St. Augustine. And based on those plans it would use the same land as what you pointed out in the video. Specially with the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center, UF just announced that there will be a new campus being built in that area, including where the convention center is. What's interesting is that at the end of the press release from the city of Jacksonville it says that they want the "return of passenger rail to downtown," which could mean anything but you never know.
Tampa to Sarasota would be a good idea
I like this video
Hey thats cool, one time i saw a gp40 at that station
Nice!!
Can't believe that the TECO Streetcar Line is more frequent than even Valley Metro Light Rail.
@@johndemcko8585 in the past it was actually much less frequent- like every 30 minutes, basically only a tourist gimmick. Great to see its become more useful.
Virgins United!!
Wait, is that a Star Wars reference im not getting?
You better be screaming “Noooo” like either Darth Vader or Luke whenever you run out of toilet paper.
Seems like there was a Bourne movie filmed in that area??
Great short catch and nice video
That must be 6334 to West Trenton.
If I recall it was actually terminating at Temple U but I could be getting it mixed up with other trains I saw that day.
Those are "Regional Rail" cars SEPTA Ⓜ️ METRO" that use both SEPTA && AMTRAK corridor "infrastructure" lines. BUT... If you want the RAW & UNCUT infrastructure and experience... Take the "Market - Frankford Line" aka "EL" "MFL" "Azul de Linear" "6-9" or "The Ceiling (of The Underworld) " and "Road To & From Zombieland" or just "Blue 🔵 Line" And the Broad Street Line also known as the "BSL" or the "Orange 🍊 Line" and you'll definitely witness something that'll make you think, laugh, gawk, frown and keep your phone in your pocket. Maybe even take your bookbag and move it from your backside to your frontside. But whatever. It's common. If you're from Philly, it's just a thing of normalcy.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ive been to Philly a bunch I’ve already ridden all three. Philly is certainly unique!
Thanks J-Bahn!
To the Airport???
@@ilovelolsurprise3419 from the airport actually. I actually started north of Philly, toon the train through the city to the airport, and then back to Penn Medicine.
I love Baltimore
Definitely an underrated city!
God bless Baltimore
They just did this in my downtown. Already narrow streets just got narrower. Can’t wait for winter!
wtf is this shit? make a normal road................
They don't work!! I'm in philadelphia. They installed them at so many intersections across the city in the last 1 1/2 yrs. Most ended up getting knocked down by cars & eventually they were removed bc it made the street look like sh!t even more with some broken, bent, missing, etc. So about half the areas they were originally installed, they're now removed. I'm sure eventually they'll be removed from everywhere. Only place I could see good use for them is when cars are merging onto a highway bc it could stop certain aholes that cut across the space that is not a lane to be able to go around the cars in front.... then causing cars already on highway to have to slam on breaks & cause a bulk of the traffic when merging. People don't realize they're supposed to ride out to the end to merge, not cut into the lane next to them but the cars in next lane get awfully pissed when u ride out the merge lane although it's what you're legally supposed to do. Ugh, driving & drivers just piss me off. 😂😂 Back to the point, those posts won't last. They'll eventually get removed, I guarantee it. Especially when a tractor trailer needs to turn & those posts are blocking him. I've seen quite a few taken out by that alone. I guess it was the thought that counted. 😂😂
"Good job, Baltimore." -No one. Ever.
Ha ha, well I guess I enjoyed being the one person who has said good job. But I Definitely understand why people dunk on this city- EDIT: i was a little surprised by the number of abandoned buildings i saw surprising. BUT I think the city gets WAY More flack than it deserves. Would rather live here than say, Miami, Atlanta, or Houston.
We thought it was nice.
@@J-Bahn We appeciate you!
@@BmoreCityDOTWell, wasn’t expecting this! You’re most certainly welcome! Credit where credit is due! In terms of transportation, this city punches WAY above its weight, not just with the trains, trams, and the metro, but with buses too! The CityLink routes made getting around the city quite easy and I hope to make a video on it in the future.
@@J-Bahn We run the Charm City Circulator, we'd love to see your review of our new lines!
Oh yea those are some good "barriers" I would 100% trust my life to those.
@@blake7285 definitely not perfect but it’s something.
The point is not to physically act as a barrier. It's to make drivers more attentive. It significantly reduces the risk of a pedestrian accident.
Or or or...just hear me out....learn how to cross a street. Smfh
Cars regularly go > 50 MPH on MLK . I wish the city had poured concrete instead of erecting flex posts.
Well in Chicago they got those stupid sticks up at certain places and just about all of them are gone due to some car running into them. Just be curb and paint left
In the city I'm in they had those plastic dividers to stop people from merging into the turn lane too late. There was a plastic divider every 6 inches. In 3 months they were all destroyed.
@@assalt18 yeesh. At the end of the day the best way to make a city safe for biking is to create bike lanes separated from traffic with a grass median or concrete barrier…as well as reducing car volume in a city.
Interesting
I remember that day. Cars just love getting hit by trains 😅.
@@thetrainguy1 Wait is that reference to something? 😃🤔
Outside the northeast, "it didn't go great" is practically Amtrak's motto.
@@ptorq True! Maybe with the exception of the Hiawatha Service.
Great video - Love the Elevator Game! Keep up the good work.
Thanks! I think you’re the first person to complement me like this!🙂 Thanks also for the complement on the elevator game! This was an awesome trip in spite of everything!
Nice video! Sadly I missed the convention. But I was at Strasburg on the 22nd.
Westchester yard is gonna be starting doing the projects on the draining pipes on 49 or 52 train tracks at a time. We might see some R62AS 6 trains layed up on the middle track elevated structures.
I'm glad they are gonna put the elevator s at Westchester square train station and they are definitely gonna hook up the train station panels walls .
Pretty soon the brand new R262/As open and close ways will replace all the R62AS R62S on the 1 3 6 S lines for CBTCS. I have a real spriital feeling that the 6 Pelham line is definitely gonna be extended to co op city mall sonna or later im telling you. The Connecticut metro North railroad is definitely gonna return back to Pennsylvania station Manhattan Hunts point moriss parkchester and co op city mall.
I wonder when you’re going to stop building the new R262 and do you think the six train will be mixed with our 142 a and R262
Thts my bus 28 Lehigh 💯
I find it funny how this commuter rail station looks like a subway station
1861-1862-1863 could have an interesting story to tell
It's probably legal in New York to do that. Most laws there are backward and non common sense.
If I'm seeing that bus stop sign correctly, that's 5th Ave at E106th St. The bus lane restriction is in effect Monday to Friday 7am to 10am. I don't know what day of the week this is, but based on the shadows coming from the trees in Central Park, and not the buildings on the east side of 5th Ave, this was clearly shot in the afternoon. I agree that people parking in the bus lanes when they're operational is a problem. I drive a charter motor coach, and see it all the time in Manhattan. However, you should not be putting people on blast when they can legally park there. Show the world the problem when it's actually a problem, not when it's convenient for you to film, and the city says it's ok to park there at that time.
Thanks (genuinely) for alerting me! I will say I find it odd that bus lanes are only in effect for such a short period of time. I think that adds a needless layer of complexity. Then again, I've never driven into or parked in New York so who am I to talk?
@@J-Bahn you're welcome. Few areas need 24x7 bus lanes in NYC. On that particular stretch of 5th Ave, the 7-10am restriction makes sense. 5th Ave is a North to South major thoroughfare, and North of E59th St, it experiences its peak volume during the morning rush. Parking is in high demand as you pass Mt Siani hospital and the many museums, and it's a residential area as well. So the Monday to Friday 7-10 bus lane makes sense as it keeps the buses moving to downtown, while opening up parking later in the day when the traffic isn't as heavy. Madison Ave from E42nd Street is a 24x7 bus lane because of the need to get the Queens bound express buses to the Ed Koch - 59th street bridge. Bus lane obstruction is a problem as it delays buses, making schedules unreliable, delaying people from reaching their jobs and/or services they need. I favor the automated ticketing being deployed to enforce the bus lanes. Unfortunately, the bugger problem is that people are selfish, and unwilling to forego their cars in one of the most transit accessible cities in the US if not the world.
very cool. looks like engine is backwards?
@@emma2128 yes. Basically all modern locomotives are designed to be operate in reverse as forward; this makes running trains much more efficient and reduces the need for expensive turntables.
@@J-Bahn That is so awesome! Thanks for teaching me!
