Thanks! Nice review! It is a really great underrated snare. I would say that steel snares are very underrated nowadays. They are usually seen as entry level drums. I bought the Brooklyn steel version instead of this one because it has 8 lugs! 😊 I prefer 8-lug snares, I don't think they are cheaper and less tuneable. For me, they are even easy to tune especially at lower tuning, feel better at the wrists when rimshoting, and sound slightly more open and fatter.

I bought the 5 and 6.5 versions. Truly sleeper snare drums. Both worth much more than I paid. I put S hoops and 13" snare wires on both, for more sensitivity. I would put them up against snares costing 10 times as much, with the upgrades. There's magic in those shells.

I think you should try Goodness by Toby Mac 😁. This "Little Drummer Boy " was truly a blessing!

Mine is out performing the ludwig supraphonic and the pearl bell brass in the studio and live this was brilliant made snare for 200 i payed 150 for mine used right off the floor at guitar center no hot rodding I usually buy a bigger strainer spring but didnt have to with this one

I have been trying to learn this track for the last few days and watching you play it has been very helpful. It's not a song that's going to tax a good drummer like yourself but it has it's difficult quirks and looks a lot easier than it is. Well for me at least. Thanks for posting. When you listen to the original, it sounds like the dummer barely ever uses any other toms but the floor tom. This gave me issues for my first few attempts but seeing your minimalist kit reassured me that i was probably right about the toms.
