Cardinals @ Orioles 3/27/97 (Spring Training)
The Cardinals made a (at the time) rare appearance at Oriole Park at Camden Yards to wrap up the pre-season portion of their 1997 schedule, and put a hurtin' on the O's.

In honor of the Cardinals wearing the Navy Road Caps against the Angels this week, here is the alternate take of the "Love is Not a Big Enough Word" scene from the 1987 film, "Planes, Trains, & Automobiles" starring the late John Candy, and Steve Martin. Cathedrals of the Game: Busch Memorial Stadium

Take a trip with Michelle Beadle back to 2004, and visit Busch Memorial Stadium in all of its renovated glory! Son of a bitch, how I miss this stadium ...
Reds @ Cardinals 7/15/18 (First Game Post-Matheny)
Просмотров 2818 месяцев назад
A day before the All-Star Break, the Cardinals played their first game after having fired (horrible) manager, Mike Matheny, the night before. I remember my brother texting me as soon as the news became public. His text said: "They did it! They fucking did it! They fired Matheny!"
I'm a Cub fan and this shit is hilarious. By the way, showing the 1984 Padre highlights puts some of us Cub fans in rehab - that's the most painful series/moments of all time for us with no question...yes, worse than 2003 Bartman, etc.
This organist is TERRIBLE!
I still have a ziplock baggie of infield dirt, a (Men's) Red Bird off a Bathroom door, and One! of the 11!...massive seating charts off a concrete pillar. We snuck in from a bar across the street, after last game at Busch game 6 Houston Astros. Thanks Albert Pujols, and Brad Lidge... for (nearly 20 years later) being able to Get .and still Have this stuff! Would've never happened without that moment🙏
The game that made me fall in love with the great game of baseball

wth is this scorebug lol
Never underestimate Molina.
I was live at this game and for many other games during September collapse of 2007 mets lose every time with heilman and mota screwing up as well as feliciano pitching every damn day.
Why didn’t Randolph send someone up to bunt after back to back singles to start the 9th inning?
@@josephsarto689 Because bunting is an incredibly bad idea 95% of the time, especially when you already have a runner in scoring position.
But the Mets were down by two, it’s better to have two runners in scoring position. And avoid the ground ball dp. bunting worked out in the same exact situation for Tony La larussa in the bottom of the 10th of game 6 of the 2011 World Series. But that’s the difference between larussa and Randolph. Ones a proven winner. One is not
God I miss this stadium❤️❤️❤️
50:49 big Mac’s 500th
As a Mets fan to me this was the killer game in the series.
Wave of nostalgia lol
I was there. Saw 22 of his 70 that year
As a child of the 80s, the Mets will always represent an eternal rival. This series, is perhaps my most favorite ever, all things considered
5:45 that aged poorly given what happened well after the first...
7:29 wait, when he came to the Cardinals in 2011, he was 34, not 31, so he lied about his age...
5:45 that aged poorly given how the second inning went.
Orange on got to show these boys what this groove bout Watch me hit him with the knife if i caint pull the tool out
Big Jim
This was 2 heavyweights going at one another. 2 great teams. Each team has 4 hall guys each. And 3 more per team who are borderline and 2 that should be. Edmonds, Kent, Sander, Renteria. Izzy, la rusa is. Duncan should be. I mean 2 awesome teams. Great series. Berkman, Clemens, Wow.
Interesting that Ankiel never really lost control of his curveball here. Overthrowing the changeup seemed to be the start of all his troubles.
The comebacker that broke Chris Young’s nose is at 40:40
Thanks for the memories Chris Duncan.
came here for 2:50:46 3:14:56 and 3:26:45
I was watching game 2 the other day. Yadi has an at bat against Heilman in the 8th inning of game 2. He starts with a fastball that was a strike but called a ball. Then Yadi is fooled by a nasty changeup. That's exactly what happens in the 9th here. But Yadi was ready for the change-up this time!!! Pretty cool. He knew from game 2 what he was going to get.
Yall notice that yadi vs Heilman in the 8th. He starts him off fastball call ball. Then he throws a nasty changeup. He does the same exact thing in the 9th of game 7. Yadi jumps that changeup in game 7. He was ready for it!!! Pretty cool man.
Steve Trachsel has not had many good times in St. Louis.....
You have the DVD collection, don’t you? Mine has the KMOX broadcast on each game!
Young Bob Carpenter
I respect ALL opinions BUT I also have my own. I LOVED Busch Memorial and I HATE that they tore it down...
I had very good seats to this game-3rd base line about 15 rows up from the bag...downtown was absolutely electric when we all walked out of the stadium.
This was the pitchers duel of all pitchers duels. Great plays across the board.
I don’t think we could have beat the Yankees, but the next three games were murder.
I actually think the Cardinals would have matched up better against the Yankees than they did the Braves, but we'll never know.
@@cardinalsbaseballclassics yep. Braves actually would have probably beat the Yankees if Wohlers didn’t choke in Game 5. That finished them.
Cards pulled off one of the biggest flops in history in ‘96.
@@tommyhunter1817 If you call losing three games in a row to three men that won Cy Young Awards and are in the Hall of Fame, sure.
@@cardinalsbaseballclassicsfor that reason I'd put 1985, 1987, and 2014 as bigger chokes.

1. I don't take requests. 2. No. 3. Even if I did, it was a walk-off loss. I don't post Cardinals losses unless it contains something of historical significance.
Any chance you have the second game of this doubleheader?
Happy flight
I was in town from StL for the series. McGwire hit the concession stand above the left field bleachers at least 8 times during batting practice. It was something to behold.
Surprised they didn't walk pujols
I was at this game, wondering who the heck this Pujols guy was.
The Late Jack Buck
Baseball Heaven.
We'll never see a pitcher hit a homerun ever again in the post season (maybe Shohei). I like the DH in both leagues but this kind of a moment won't ever happen again. That said....the strategy of no DH takes away from the game, makes the manager less important...
Any chance you have the Braves/Phillies game from this date?
This is a Cardinals channel. Why would you ask if I have the Braves/Phillies game? I don't take requests, anyway.
@@cardinalsbaseballclassics Because I thought you also ran the This Is Baseball channel. And I'd actually pay money for that game.
82 pitches in 8 innings........unreal!!!
Carp was awesome in this this game.....!!! He always showed up in big games and never disappointed......one of my favorite Cards of al time......a fuckin warrior!!!!
The inning starts at 40:25
