Call the orange box what it is. It is not a stove it's a flame tower. Optimas used to make a self-pressurizing liquid kick ass stove that burns for at full flame for 45 minutes that fits one pint pot. I can size the fuel can to the length of the trip. A new idea is not always the best idea.

Great idea! I prefer the brick, because I definitely wouldn't leave the firelighters in the cupcake holders in sandwich bags for fear that someone I'm with might mistake them for food, or share one with my dog! I often have stuff in Emergency Packs for a looong time (years), so even I might forget what they are! I recently made the mistake of thinking that a spray bottle contained upholstery cleaner, only to remember too late (after I'd sprayed it on my car seats!) that it had been an _empty_ cleaning product bottle that I used long ago on a camping trip as an emergency vessel for a late-night pee, and then must have forgotten about it. There's nothing like the smell of 5-year-old urine to brighten up your car's interior - but hey, it did seem to lift the dirt off the upholstery at least!

    • @thecampingpost

If I'm going to set up a ground tent, it would be separated from my vehicle. That way I can use my vehicle if necessary. I feel like a table or even another tent may be needed to store all your stuff because if it's in the front and someone is sleeping then you'll have to close and open the doors and make more noise. Not 100% sold on this set up yet but it is cool.

Welcome to car camping!! 🤣 We experience the same thing in our travel trailer or even in a tent. When everyone is sharing the same sleeping space, there will always be disturbances to one another. I feel like that's just part of camping. For me, the best use of this tent will be for quick one person set ups on short overnight trips, where you just need a quick space to sleep. For gear, we will be utilizing 2 large bins on a hitch basket. One for gear, the other for food items. The biggest benefit here for me is being able to have a small tent in the back of my SUV for spontaneous camping trips.

It’s not like ya get a lot of extra room but a little vestibule where you can shuck off your wet clothes and boots without dragging it all inside. Some shade when it’s sunny and a screen door to boot. It’s less than $60 so it’s not like it’s gonna break the bank. You can still stay stealthy when you need to and bring this out when you don’t. If my plans to get an element work out I will probably get one. It doesn’t take up enough room to worry about.

@@corbelius6 since a van will most likely have a different set up for doors, this will not likely work. I have a buddy with a van and he uses a roof top tent similar to this: amzn.to/3T7xcXH

We have found quite a bit of our first in the ‘fun bins’ as we call them. Dry bag, going back pack, pop up tent, duel electric hot plate, folding camp table with chairs and random kitchen stuff.

@@utubetjc That is a great question and I wonder the same thing. We’ll just have to see when we get is a situation like that. Worst case, if a bad storm was coming. I would most likely pull the tent, close the gate or head out anyway.

So you can use your vehicle to deploy quick sleeping quarters off the ground and get air flow through the vehicle. This packs much smaller than a standard tent and sets up very quick.

@@hisxbr150 That is odd. However there is a current discount on the no RGB version putting it closer to the same price. It appears the product has changed some since we originally did this video. At that time, there was no RGB option, which is the 29’ option.
