A lot of hits come on the drop. When I cast I let it hit the bottom. give it a couple of shakes. I then slowly drag it back to me. I lift my rod top about 6 to 12 inches on the drag back and let it drop and sit. Shake and do it again.

3 weight Sage ESN. With euro nymphing you want the best rod for sensitivity. I love my sage esn and have caught 4 times more fish since I started euro nymphing.

I hear you and appreciate the feedback. I was dealing with either ripping his gill out to get him out of the net or try and work him free. I chose to work him free the best I could.

That is how it goes. I also forget to put on my GoPro for my largest streamer fish last year.

Great place to catch some nice fish. Too bad this year it was blown out and a lot of the fish were pushed down because of the water they let out.

His gill got caught in the net and I did not want to rip her out. I have never had that happen before and was trying to get her back in the water and not destroy her gills. It was very odd in that type of rubber net. The piece of the mouth that attaches to the gill at the bottom end was twisted in the net. I hated how long she was out but she swam off well after reviving for a bit.

The way I fish this is that i slightly and very lightly drag the bugs on the bottom. These are micro adjustments in the line that you want to do to help keep it on the bottom. I keep the line in my left hand and my rod flat and up slightly leading the bugs. The faster the water the faster I move the rod. The line in my left hand moves back and forth depending on the depth of water and to help keep the light taught.

These are they nymphs and streamer I was killing them on: photos.app.goo.gl/Dwvg5xGWMdZPsKpv5 No need for split shots. The tungsten bead heads on the nymphs are denser than water and go straight down. Use fluorocarbon tippet since it does not float like mono line.
