Same here…unfortunately I’m not connected to a church tho, there aren’t any good churches around me. Every “Christian” guy I’ve talked to has treated me worse than guys who aren’t professing Christian’s. It’s been 2 years of not dating for me… Maybe God is just preparing our future husbands now for us. It’s sure frustrating tho

I used to have an anxious attachment style in ALL relationships prior to meeting Christ. Then, after Christ, I started to date someone. I thought I was healed and secure, but I spilled back to anxious. Then, it got worse and I moved to avoidant. I don't know what you guys believe about spiritual warfare and deliverance, but this is what broke me free of my insecure attachment styles. It took a while of spiritual warfare prayers, confessing that I don’t have the spirit of fear, etc. to break free of it. And now, I'm completely secure, and even my former triggers do nothing to me anymore. I believe that in Christ, we can be free from everything that we were before, even things that we learnt as children. God bless you.

So so helpful. I have an anxious attachment style and my best friend has an avoidant one. She’s now married so there’s more distance between us. Sitting in the discomfort is powerful, Isaiah 40:31. What would you advise when an avoidant person isn’t meeting the other person halfway; making them wait with no feedback.
Thank you for sharing that verse from Isaiah ❤ Ryan here: as another anxious attachment person there is a great method called “DEAR MAN” that helps when talking with an avoidant friend or partner, specifically the DEAR portion. D - Describe to them the problem without going into the past or talking too much (we like to ramble as anxious folks do 😂) E - Express how you feel, tell them you are feeling sad about not getting a chance to speak more frequently and then A - Assert what you are needing but not aggressively! R - Reinforce why this is beneficial for you both 🎉 lmk if That’s helpful and thank you for the comment ❤

Should you have a consequence if you break a boundary? Having one (no kissing for a month) has helped us in the past but as soon as we start kissing again we go crazy haha
Hahaha the struggle is real right?! Taking a step back with boundaries helped us a lot to kind of “reset”. But if it’s a recurrent thing to overstep boundaries then the line may need to be set further back (like no kissing in private, not being alone, or just no kissing at all). Most importantly pray for the power of the Holy Spirit! When we truly have the heart posture of wanting to honor God, it becomes so much easier because the spirit works in us to strengthen and give us perseverance 🙌🏻
