Gidday mate, Great video. I have recently purchased 4 Wild West sets from Funwhole (saloon, post office, sheriff office and train station). Just waiting for delivery. The train from the bricklink designer program looks better but not for that price. Also for such an expensive set i was expecting much better minifigures. Those that are included are totally uninspiring. This isn't fault of the designer. LEGO wouldn't agree to create minifigures specially for a western set. For someone who is looking for western sets Funwhole theme is the best option. The older LEGO sets are too small with little detail for adults. For kids are still cool but for the price sold at ebay or bricklink there are better choices. The 3 larger western sets through the bricklink designer program (general store, train and mine) are superb but clearly overpriced. I have all seven of Funwhole western sets and i didn't regret it. I hope that they will make more.

I bought the Bricklink train. I passed on Funwhole because I already had the green Lego train from the Lone Ranger line. I bought all the other Funwhole western sets.

The minifig value does affect the overall price, + it's LEGO, so it's not cheap by any means. But I ordered one, and I couldn't be happier. Now, what about the Orient Express, which is also retiring later this year? These two are the best Lego trains available for a while.

There are some terrible people in this world I still remember the day my brand new phone being stolen. These people need to understand how this affects people and most people who they rob are not wealthy.

With other brands including lighting and all prints its making lego look like the 2nd rate product as maybe the giant has gotten too big, reaching into themes that just dilute its pure essence and top notch quality. I think another missing note here is that it the brick link program does not print instructions which can change the build experience or in a post apocalyptic world make it just a box of pieces.

I love this set, but I color swapped the light grey skull pieces for the dark grey color of the rocks around it, I just prefer it a bit less obvious and more natural, carved into the rock

I loved this set. It is very detailed and very nice to build. Also looks fantastic on display. Think a lot of people missed out on this one!

I bought this despite the mediocre/negative reviews because I really liked the look of it. What surprised me is that this was the MOST FUN I had building of ANY modern set. Except for the brown hot dogs portions of course... Aside from those, as I was building the set I was blown away that I couldn't stop thinking about how much I was enjoying myself.

this was a great build, probably in my personal top 10. overall i vcant say anything negative about it, even the flimsier parts were not too weak compared to some of the models on rebrickable.. this is my favorite pirate set. also it didnt sell out, so there are significantly less copies available than the mountain fortress

Nah, too many "modern" rounded-stud-killing pieces. I´d rather scour the fleamarkets for the classic Pirate sets, arrrgh! But a fine video none the less, cap´n!

Great review, well you have pretty well sold me that I should have gotten this. I have been trying to avoid the BLD program because of the price hikes seen when I missed out on the mountain fortress and that one was such a beautiful set. I was thinking for the cost I could just buy a bunch of brick lots and make an island which is still where I am leaning since I wanted more of a beach a few studs high so I can have a buried treasure scene. but this is really its own thing.... nice to see not all sets have absurd prices. But it seems this only sold about 20,000 sets, which I think is small, compared to the billions the Lego market reaches (BLD is still niche market within lego). It makes me wonder how many units of the El Dorado fortress sold. Might give this a 2nd look. thanks for sharing the love of the pirates theme.

A long time ago I decided to only focus on Lego Starwars and nothing else because it would be impossible for me to juggle between many themes. If not because of money reasons, because of space reasons. Pun intended

Agree. I parted out with a lot of LEGO in 2024. Will part out with MORE in 2025. The LEGO I parted out with in 2024 was easy. But in 2025, I know I need to part out with more but some of the remaining stuff I am torn on. I think I will have to part out with them in the end because LotR is my favorite. I am thinking I may collect only new LEGO LotR sets only. Currently collecting Ninjago and LotR. Got rid of almost all my Star Wars. And then.... LEGO announced the Black Pearl :/

Not a fan of the FOMO. there needs to be a way of stopping the immediate flips on ebay. Gals is usually the term for the women when fellas is used is men (as it is for when guys is used for men)... there have been efforts to use another word but it just hasn't caught on

crenellations is the word rather than tower walls 😀. That set is probably the best of this series.

The market is a bit basic... the 2nd layout looks way more readable but save some pieces to make a full size Kogg ship.... without that no way. ... to have a port and just a small ship, that should be there too. All these feel so inflated in size and parts just because with a limited series it does not make sense to make small builds when it can be capitalized for more since if you limit to 30,000 units, the work of a small set doesn't pay off as much. Its not the bricks that are the cost but the market value and what people are willing to pay. Like as I see with the battle pack, there is a lot that could have been edited out but it is a tempting addition, it will add a lot of play value, but its really more of what I already have so why not just make my own little mocs. The really interesting one is the train... Some things I do not like with this series is that they are advertising it to work with existing sets, especially the Lions knight castle, which is a beloved set and this battle pack will be exclusive. And it seems Bricklink is just become a platform to release lego themes items because they are not making them.
