Returning from the lake | Lac de Montriond, France | Motorcycle POV [UNCUT] Yamaha FZ6
Просмотров 309День назад
Just back from Lake Montriond. I had planned to take a different route over a mountain pass, but it was closed during the day. So, I had to retrace my steps, navigating through crowds of tourists and vacationers. Even with the heavy traffic, the road was surprisingly pleasant. While I doubt I'll return, I'd definitely recommend visiting this beautiful lake at least once.

I noticed that the higher the camera sits, the slower it seems like I'm driving in the video. Although in reality the average speed is 60-80 km/h here, this is likely also due to camera stabilization.

Bonjour l’ami tes vidéos c’est un vrai plaisir elle mérite largement plus de vues. Je voulais savoir où tu as pris tes rétroviseurs embout de guidon stp. Car les rétro d’origine font vieillots et je souhaite les changer.
Hello, it’s a real pleasure to read such a review. They’re replicas crg bar end mirrors.
@LiveTheRide-d3ythanks my friend.
Really nice ride, could you just maybe bump up sound volume a little? It's a bit quiet, otherwise nice relaxing video :) By the way, yesterday i just bought my first bike :D 2006 faired Fazer so i'm looking forward to warmer days. In person fazer is quite bigger than i imagined comming from z650 in school. Thanks for making the wait-time bearable with your videos. :)
Congratulations, by the way these models had a recall campaign due to the throttle position sensor, so I recommend checking the VIN code on the manufacturer's website, I encountered this problem myself, but even after almost 15 years, I got it replaced under warranty, otherwise it’s a great bike. I will try to adjust volume next time, thank you.
Thought the GT had a QS?
Yes, but afaik it’s an add-on. Mine didn’t have it.
Great raw sound quality. Thanks for it. Is this the stock exhaust?
Hello, thank you, yes it is full stock exhaust.
@LiveTheRide-d3y sounds amazing in this video.
Agree, I wish every time I ride I have such quality
Lovely ride, FZ6 is such a nice old lady.
Still elegant and playful.
@LiveTheRide-d3y I hope to get one next week as my first one. Just faired one
S-version is far more comfortable in the matter of wind protection, and I like its two headlights design setup. Just be sure to check all plastic, that it is intact and there are no cracks.
where is this?
It is near Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
Beautiful place! Might visit one day! ❤
Yeah it’s totally worth it!
great ride bro,thanks for sharing!
Cool, I appreciate you liked it!
Great sound! Are you planning to do a second mic setup in the helmet as well? And how did you attach the mic on the licence plate? On a cold shoe with 3m tape or something? ❤
Hey, thank you! Actually, I don't want to distract people with voice. I used 3m tape and magnetic mounting plate from osmo camera.
@LiveTheRide-d3y Yeah I understand. I usually like these 'raw' sound videos more anyway. But for myself, I want to have the option to create 'talking video's' besides exhaust sounds. Thanks for the tip - as I expected 3m tape with magnets are suffice!
If it's entertaining and you have what to talk about, sure why not? Also expect there will be a lot of vibration, so be sure to keep the setup sturdy enough.
@LiveTheRide-d3y Haha I'm not sure yet. Usually not that big of a talker, but showing people the city and surroundings and talking a bit about the culture, buildings etc might be nice. I'll see. And thanks for the tip. Might try to work out a kind of extra security, like a strap or something just to not finish the ride without a mic haha!
Actually a good idea to talk some history of the city, I didn’t think from this perspective yet.
Awesome! I am watching everything about the fz6n as i wanted to get one as my first bike. Always sounds and looks great. Would you recommend it? Looking forward to travel trough france too
I can highly recommend it, because it so capable, good looking and almost indestructible machine. The only thing I regret I didn’t buy it earlier 😉 France has a bunch of beautiful roads.
Wonderful 😀, where is this place?
Hi, it is near Neuchâtel, Switzerland
Hey, this looks amazing. I also want to start and record some stuff next year. May I ask how you recorded the sound? Just from the camera? Many thanks and keep on going :)
Hello, thank you, I use dji mic 2 to record the sound.
just bought one and i'll be riding it in januari
Nice, keep rubber side down!
@LiveTheRide-d3y i've been riding foro 4 years and never heard that metafore before what does it mean?
This means “ride safe” by keeping your tires on the road.
@LiveTheRide-d3y sure will bro you can count on me👍💪💪💪
nice video and very good sound!!! Where did you put your mic? never ever found the correct place to avoid wind noise. even if i put both TX on -12 and RX on -12 ))
Hi, thanks, I put it just between exhaust pipes.
Very nice roads. 1 week to have my Tracer 7😊
Awesome, it's a great machine, ride safely, please!
HELLO I HAVE the dji mic too ! can i ask where did you mic out on and what mic setting you use ? also how do you cancel the wind nose ?I Use the wind muff and still happen :(?because i want the good audio quality like you !!!!!! my motocycle is under exhaust
Hello, for dji Mic 2 I use 32bit float on, low-cut off, everything else is on, gain depends on your situation, but mostly -6 to -12dB, using windshield is a must. I place mic between pipes and a stoplamp to cut the wind noise. What motorcycle do you have?
@@LiveTheRide-d3y THX ! `m street triple 765rs user i really don`t know where do i put the mic in !! do you have any idea??
I would use the passenger foot peg as a base for the mic mount. Is the exhaust stock or modified?
@@LiveTheRide-d3y YES IS STOCK!!! but you are use magnet???
The magnet won't hold the mic at speed. I use a camera mount.
What an awesome twisty. Thanks for taking us along.
My pleasure, stay tuned 😉
Best ride yet, imo!
If only the sound was a little bit better
FZ1N
FZ6N to be exact
Hi, are you recording in 32-bit float ans then syncing it to thr visuals after? Or recording straight to the camera via the receiver? Cheers
Hi, I record both on camera (mic connected via Bluetooth) and 32bit and then sync in post. While Bluetooth isn’t stable sometimes I’m sure always have a backup. Hope this helps! Cheers
@@LiveTheRide-d3yhello. Do you record as a standalone mic then sync it after?
@@NurseAdventures Hi, I record audio on both mic and camera as two separate audio tracks and then sync the audio to the video in post
@@LiveTheRide-d3y okay. I have DJI OA4 and Mic 2 combo. Just want to mainly record exhaust sounds. Any tips/settings you can give me? I want to record exactly (if possible lol) what you recorded on this video :) almost no wind noise and pure exhaust sound.
Sure, my settings for dji mic 2 are: 32bit float - on, low-cut - off, everything else is on, always with a deadcat (windshield), gain depends on your exhaust location and dBs it produces, but what I found mostly in the range -6 to -12 works well. I put mic as close to the pipe as possible (but not in direct line of sight, so as not to burn it with exhaust gases). Hope this helps! 😉
Any tips on settings, using 32 bit float or not etc? Got an Osmo Action 4 and DJI Mic 2 on the way myself :) Lovely vid
@@thomasrockett9641 Hi, for Osmo Action 4 - I recommend to get yourself ND filters. In most cases ND16 will be sufficient. Shoot in D-LogM, RockSteady with 50fps and 1/100 shutter speed, 5500-5700K for daylight settings. For Mic 2 - 32bit float on, low-cut off, everything else is on, gain depends on your situation, but mostly -6 to -12. Hope this helps! 😉
@@LiveTheRide-d3y lengend, thank you so so much! I do have some ND filters on order :)
What a beautiful road 😮
Yeah, it is really nice
Where is this?
Col du Marchairuz in Switzerland
What makes it your favorite road?
This road lays from one mountain pass to another, there is almost to none traffic and it has great scenery all the time.
@@LiveTheRide-d3y I'm sure you're spoiled for choice over there. I enjoyed the ride -- thank you!
In general, you are right, the choice is really great, the main thing is to find free time for it!
Super good video quality. Nice and steady with awesome exhaust sound. What camera do you use? Dji/gopro?
Thank you, I use dji Osmo action 4
😊 Your exhaust sounds soo good. Have you done something to make it sound so good? Mine does not give those nice blurbs when I close the throttle.
It's absolutely stock with no modifications to it. You probably don't hear them well because in this case recorder is placed in front of the exhaust and in real life this sound is drowned out by the noise of the road and the surrounding environment.
@LiveTheRide-d3y oke, danke. Ich wil mall versuchen ob ich mein micro auch anders anordnen kann. Deine aufname klingt sehr gut.
Thanks, and how do you mount your microphone 🎙️right now?
@@LiveTheRide-d3y I have a metal strip inside my helmet and the microphone is manetic so its is right before my mouth, or I click it on my topcaserack. But then it pics up a very hard shifting sound. I use the mic2 and osmo action4 from dji. The microphone in my pocket gives the best engine sound.
Don’t you think it’s too far from the exhaust to record it?
FROM WHERE?
From Château-d'Oex
Awesome ride.
Damn right!
I’m glad you liked it, guys!
tient cest la montée de st-croix ca 😂😂
Exactly! 👍
Which camera is that? What's the settings? The footage looks great for low light!
I agree, it’s Osmo Action 4, shot in D-LogM 4K50fps and then colorgraded in post
Where did you put the microphone? There's a little bit of buzzing in the sound, not sure if that's from the mic rubbing on something or coming from the bike itself?
I placed a microphone between the exhaust pipes on the license plate holder. I also noticed this, this sound is formed as a result of resonance between the two pipes at certain RPMs, which is what the microphone picks up.
@@LiveTheRide-d3y Thanks!
Another beautiful ride. Thanks for taking us along on the journey.
I'm glad you joined.
awesome!
❤❤
Nice video! Although without talking, still nice to watch.😊
Yeah, so as not to interrupt such a beautiful exhaust sound 💨
@@LiveTheRide-d3y is that the stock can?
@@ThePresidentofMars Yes, full stock
do the Orvin to Nods, super nice flowing road (albeit short). for bonus points the north-west side of Chasseral (to St-Imier, Renan, Les Bois)
Yes it was great, though the road was short, I really enjoyed it, too bad I forgot to turn on the camera! As for the second road, thanks for the recommendation. I’ll definitely try to check it out if the weather holds up.
Lovely scenery!
The Tracer feels light and very agile but less stable at high speeds compared to the Fazer. It lacks power, and after 130 km/h, it accelerates very sluggishly. For everyday city riding, the Tracer is preferable, but the FZ6 is much more fun when you want to push it. I also liked the sound of the CP2 engine, which somewhat resembles a tractor, but even with the stock exhaust, it sounds interesting. Not sure if it was an ABS, but when downshifting, I managed to break the rear wheel loose, which I never experienced on the FZ6. For comparison, the tires were the same, so it’s definitely not a tire issue. I didn’t like the wind protection at all - it was more of a hindrance, and adjusting it only made it worse. However, this might be because it’s designed for an average-height rider. Both motorcycles weigh almost the same, but the FZ6 feels much heavier. I liked the front suspension; it handles bumps quite well, which can't be said about the rear. The rear suspension is too soft, and this might have been the reason for the rear wheel slipping, but I was riding with the default settings, so maybe it was just tuned that way. Overall, it's basically an MT-07, just a bit taller and with mediocre wind protection. It looks decent, but I wouldn't trade it for my Fazer.
I also have Fz6 s2. How do you compare them with Tracer?

This motorcycle is essentially bulletproof. I know several people on the forum who have ridden theirs for over 170,000 km, and the feedback is overwhelmingly positive.
@@LiveTheRide-d3y Brazilian people tends to do a lot of bad things with 4 cilinders bikes, and they Also don't gave the bikes proper maintenance

@@LiveTheRide-d3y any bike but anything over 600 cc is a bomb. People don't make even the basic maintenance cause it is expensive
A motorcycle has never been a cheap pleasure, but to not service it at all sounds total absurd for me, your life literally depends on its condition.
