I have a category 5 heading towards me what is this rated?

I just used these for the first time today. (We've got a storm coming in that will probably only give us tropical storm force winds, but you never know. Plus, it was probably good practice for the day when a stronger storm comes through and I really need to board up.) I did run into a couple of issues. First, my plywood was pretty thin (about 7/16 inch), so the clip kept falling off it. To address this, you can just put the clip on the ground (large flat side down) and step on it so that it will fit snugly. Second, if it is *too* snug, meaning you can't get the entire clip around the edge of the plywood, you can use a hammer (gently) to tap it into place.
Can you use them with osb wood?
yes
Where can I buy these?
Bad thing is they ruined all my paint, now I have to have my house painted.
Oh, poor baby....
All your paint? Couldn’t just touch up where the clips touched the casing?
How do you keep from scratching the outside windows facing😳
You don’t. They are going to scratch. You just touch up after
Thank you for this product! I have the boards and Plylox ready to go!
These worked great on my parents house. We could hear things smashing against the plywood but afterwards there wasn't a chip in the wood anywhere.
"Your brick, wood or stucco home"...what about how 90% of the homes are built today?...vinyl siding with vinyl-framed windows that aren't recessed?....amazing that these are the most prevalent home in the South as to new construction....and there is no video for these home construction types.
That will be enough Karen.. use a damn nail if you don’t have brick.

OMG!!! These locks were a life saver. We just went through Hurricane Sally and they saved our home. They stay in place and super easy to install and uninstall and fit snuggly to the window. The clips look so simple and to be honest I thought uh huh, no way. I am happy to say that these clips proved me wrong. Super great product. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Neat
Excellent material!! I did my entire house with a friend in a few hours instead of spending thousand of dollars for hurricane shutters!! ***** 5 STARS *****
When you can't help but think "damn, he's a keeper, how'd I get so lucky?" while staring at your man. 0:34
To be fair, he allowed her to pull the clip off at the end of the video. My wife would have pushed me out of the way and done all this herself if I moved that slowly!!!
@@Roy-kb3fy I'm in the process of doing this all by myself. 😃 My hubby is a wee bit spoiled.
🤣
😂😂😂
Can they be used on inside walls? Protecting my windows from outside is not an option (Condo rules) - will they ruin drywall? Thanks in advance!
Per their website--brick, wood, or stucco casings. Also I would think due to the design if you use them inside there's not really anything stopping storm from blowing them in should storm break through window. If you need to apply outward pressure to release the clips, and wind is blowing/pushing in the outward direction, I would think this would also leave you at risk for the clips being released.
They will damage your walls as they will dig into your drywall.
I have them. I use them. They work great! In my condo association we are not allowed to drill any holes are jeopardize the integrity of the structure of our buildings. So the condo association approved these plylox for protecting windows during a hurricane.
Where did you buy them ??????
