Marks case reminds me a lot of a professor who was found dead where I live. His name was Steven Haaja. He was the math professor for Chadron State College in Nebraska. I think a big reason why some of these women groupies we're deluded and fantasized about Bundy is because of that dumb Mark Harmon movie. Even though I was pretty young when he passed, I still remember the denial. Like, asking yourself over and over "How could Steve Irwin be dead, there must be some sort of mistakes" until you eventually have to just accept it. I had already lost my mother shortly before that day, less than a year before, so it wasn't like I wasn't used to loss and hopeless sorrow. To me, Steve was a real life, living super hero. But rather than saving the city, he decided to dedicate his efforts to those who cannot advocate on their own behalf. I think that's why it was hard to comprehend, how could a super hero die so suddenly, in such a horrific way? In a weird way though, I'm kinda glad it wasn't something like a sudden traffic accident. His death had the most important message of all: Respect nature, as most of the time, it's setting the rules, you're just along for the ride and even with all the knowledge in the world, you're still at nature's mercy. Be it the animals around you, the environment you live in, or even your own biology.
