I felt bad for Clark he really cared about his dogs
This wasn't Blair, It was the thing, It had consumed Blair. I think was Palmer was the first, Blair next, Naurus third.
At this moment, I thought Blair was for sure the thing. Now I realize it was Blair and the thing wouldn’t have done this. The thing would have kept any means of transportation or communication plentiful in order to assimilate more, not trap itself in the same place. By doing this, Blair would as truly a hero.
Blair looks like a lot like some late night TV hosts on November 6.
And he was already infected, just didn't transform yet into a Thing.
Wilford Brimley on low blood sugar
Nice guitar’s except Nita,s.
Blair knew that covid was gonna be a outbreak.
Man the moment when Clark got to the Kennel... You can feel his sense of loss and disbelief... But, considering that this "Intruder" can assimilate any living thing it comes into contact with, may use it's hosts to escape or use to manipulate... Blair did what was necessary, as to why and how it got to them in the first place...
I think he was still human at this point, but little after his incarceration, he was an easy target isolated from the rest.
If my memory serves me correctly, the part where Kurt's character charges him with the table, he wasn't supposed to actually hit the axe through the table but he was wielding a real axe and nearly killed Kurt. Wasn't the only time people nearly got killed during the production. They'll never make movies like this again.
In all honesty, this dude did the most rational thing anyone would do.
In a way, I relate to EVERYBODY in this movie; they were all tired, angry, in pain, and frustrated. Their knowledge of the Thing made things even worse for these men; they became paranoid of each other, though they were trying not to kill each other.
Why is he mad?
Diabeetus.
The average inner-city school bathroom at around 8:00 in the morning.
The fact that they just casually throw Fuchs off to the side after Mac throws a few punches is hilarious!
Love how Mac gets 2 good shots in 😂
I love how it takes 3 guys half his age to take down Wilford Brimley, must've been all that Quaker oatmeal he ate.
0:40 nobody!! Taaakaneweet!! 0:43 everybody is gonna dance? 😂 this movie keeps bringing new dialogues and new details every decade hahaha 2:02 aahh keel yewwww!!!😂😂 2:21 before Matrix punch noises
The way he says "I'll keel youuuuu!" and unloads the gun firing from the hip always makes me laugh.
I heard that guy created Ronald McDonald
"Ahhhll keel yewww!!"😅😅😅 doc went effin nuts knowing the implications of what havoc The Thing parasite can wreak if let loose
He was just having a diabetus attack
his delivery of "I'LL KILL YOUUU" cracks me up
Gary falls over like a sack of spuds 😂Old fool 😂❤😂
I think this was the show that my wife and I gave some cpr at.
You'd go nuts too if you ate Quaker oatmeal every day and still got diabeetus.
I tend to think Blair was still human here, IMO--he just snapped after he realized what would happen if The Thing reached civilization...
Wilford Brimley A Great Actor!❤
I remember watching this and not understanding why Dr.Blair freaked out the way he did, but now it's understandable that he was sacrificing all of them to protect the rest of earth within those 27,000 hours
More likely he was already infected, and was using this "freak out" as a pretense to destroy the base's ability to warn everyone else, and simultaneouly make the others sequester him (as opposed to sequestering himself, which would arouse suspicion). It's shown later in the film that he had already been tunneling under his shed for some time, and was stealing parts to make himself a small aircraft for his escape. Very, very nefarious. The subtle plot layering and slow drip of information to the audience is one of the reasons this film maintains such a strong following to this day, as it rewards multiple viewings with more insight and opportunities for speculation.
@HairyLimeLives He can't have been infected during this scene as his actions would not make sense if he was The Thing. He destroyed communications so that The Thing was isolated to the base. He destroyed the helicopter, so it had no means of escape. He killed the dogs to prevent The Thing from getting to them first. All of these actions do not benefit The Thing.
Can someone please tell me what Fukes is doing at 2:31
Brimley's oatmeal needs more bananas. He's in Joe Don Baker-Mode.
This scene is spot on. He knows they are all doomed and there is no way out so he chooses to destroy any method of transportation and communications. His character would have killed everyone including himself then probably conduct demolition by fire etc prior to suicide to insure that this horror is not unleashed on the planet. He knew what had to be done, he was the real hero of the movie willing to self sacrifice for the greater good unlike the rest of the crew. Yet he was considered the guy going crazy. John Carpenter really dialed this whole movie 100% what an underrated masterpiece.
Possibly...however, his actions present a much darker, chilling view if we consider that he may have already been infected at this point. If so, then destroying the other survivors' ability to contact and warn the outside world, setting himself up to be isolated by the group (so he can operate without observation) and also providing himself with more metal scrap and wiring to build his little escape ship...suddenly good ol' Dr. Blair doesn't seem very self-sacrificing.
@@HairyLimeLivesIt literally doesn't make sense if Blair was The Thing in this scene.
@@shivill2236 It makes perfect sense. The Blair Thing accomplishes two goals with this little "performance". First, he destroys the camp's ability to talk to the outside world - which prevents them from warning any and all outside parties, thereby insulating The Thing from additional threats. Second, by appearing insane, he sets up the perfect scenario for himself to be isolated from the others, shunned and locked away but free to work in solitude away from prying eyes (which is made evident later by the tunnels found under Blair Thing's shack). Because the Blair Thing has provided the appearance of a crazy old man hell-bent on "saving the world" with an overzealous yet good-intentioned sabotage of the camp's technology, he gives himself credible cover to destroy any outside threats and also guarantee himself solitary confinement. This is also evidenced by the fact that he later sabotages the chopper and the snow cat to not only prevent any survivors escaping the base to warn the world, but also use the spare parts to build a small escape craft for himself. Remember: The Thing survives on giving false appearances..duplicity and confusion serve its needs. "The chameleon strikes in the dark", indeed.
@@HairyLimeLives There are issues with your logic. 1)- The Thing would desperately want other humans to come to the base; more humans means more people to infect. It gives The Thing an opportunity to escape. 2)- If Blair was the thing, destroying the Helicopter and Snowcat would be the last thing it would do as it wants to reach the rest of humanity. You seem to forget that The Thing built a small spaceship at the end. The movie is explicit in saying that Blair-Thing built it to reach humanity. If The Thing had a Helicopter, it would have used it to escape. Blair's actions are a direct attack on The Thing's plan to assimilate humanity. 3)- Another thing to point out is the dogs. Why would Blair kill the dogs if he was The Thing? Why would he go far and beyond for something that would only hurt his plan? The dogs would be a useful tool for The Thing, being other tools to use to infect people. The obvious answer for why he killed the dogs was because he knows that they are vulnerable to being infected and they are the perfect tool to infect others.
@@shivill2236 The questions you raise don’t help your argument.
It took THREE men to incapacitate Blair. Just think about that for a moment.
I bet the Thing wanted to laugh its ass off witnessing this.
I believe Blair was human in this scene, if The Thing's main goal is to assimilate life, then there's no reason for it to destroy all means of getting back to civilization.
Idk why but this scene makes me laugh so hard😂😂 windows face at the end too😂😂
Dr Blair"hello.. I'm doctor Blair and is have diabeetus....it hurts when i pee and it makes me short with my co-workers,last week i stubbed my toe and took it out on the dogs in the kennels, then i found out we were out of coffee and i shot at Norris's,then i find out it was not Norris.....who the hell did i shoot at"?

The Moment Blair became DIABEETUS.
