    Is FTF finding solutions to the challenge ahead? If so, what are they?

    • @FTFArizona
      @FTFArizona Год назад

      Thank you so much for viewing our video and for your comment. FTF is committed to helping find solutions to this vital issue. Over the past year, we have been hosting community forums in regions throughout Arizona to gather community members and local leaders from diverse industries together to brainstorm solutions. We are also supporting the AZ Commerce Authority, the Arizona Department of Economic Security, the child care community, and the Governor’s Office as they conduct a statewide Child Care Needs Study that will inform an action plan to address current and future child care needs. Additionally, we are meeting with legislators and members of the Arizona business community to raise awareness about this challenge and share ways they can support their employees. While not an exhaustive list, these are a few of the ways we are working to find solutions. The child-care industry holds up every sector of our economy and we are committed to supporting Arizona’s families and economy through this work. To learn more and stay informed, feel free to sign up for our monthly newsletter: bit.ly/FTFNewsletter

    While the answer in the short term is no, 2 is the age that they soak everything up like sponges , so you want to start teaching this concept, but like with everything else, you have to model it and be consistent everyday. Eventually they will get the concept, though at their own pace.

    This idea was already available 40 years ago by the Institute for Human Potential in Philadelphia, and I raised my son accordingly, who is now 35. I tried to convey this to an ASU group of people who tried to introduce early learning 15 years ago, but was not heard by them, since I had no diploma in child education, but all the experience. I taught my child to read as soon as his interests were focused to the outside world at 4 months of age, and he could read fluently at age 2 and do basic math. He enjoyed the flashcards so much that his first word was "more". He has stayed an avid learner all his life so far...

    How is my English? I learned it myself from watching American movies with subtitles. C'est le même avec mon Français, und auch mein Deutsche sprache. I can speak four languages thanks to television! Both my parents can only speak Dutch. Put your kids in front of the tv as soon as they can read. Choose movies spoken in a language you want them to learn and the subtitles in their own language!!! I'm doing the same now with my kids. But I also speak to them in all four languages and sing along with songs on RUclips. Success guaranteed!

    5:30 and 16:00 examples of deep and simple interactions 7:48 active ingredient 12:21 inspiring message about what quality means to policymakers and our children. 20:10 isn't it true when we (early childhood educators) fall on current #QRIS system, we are shifting our focus from the children we are with to completing the #DRDP evaluation or fulfilling whatever your state wants for "quality" 20:53 is that true what Mr Roger's quoting from The Little Prince and reminding us about "What is essential is invisible to the eye"

      Glad to hear this. 😊 I recently commented on a language learning video that kids can pick up a language from TV (my little brother did), and the teacher told me I don't understand how languages work, because the parents need to speak that language too. (My parents don't speak a word in English - the language my brother picked up from cartoons).
