Charlie and his mother are like oil and water. Two people who don't understand one another. Charlie's mom clearly loves Charlie, but she invariably takes the wrong tack with him. On the other hand, Charlie should give-way a little, too, because what his mother says makes sense. Of course, he's a kid, and too many kids don't sufficiently value their parents' life experiences and insights. Experience counts for something, though. I was a somewhat unusual teenager. I listened to my parents and did what they said, albeit begrudgingly sometimes. Looking back at those days, I realise, like many others similarly situated probably do, that my parents were right most of the time. Not so my brother, who took a different tack and ultimately regretted it. Anyway, another excellent analysis, although _Nerdy Investigations_ misspoke once. I say this from affection and to show I pay close attention. 😉

That look on Tao’s face before he pulls him in for the hug 😢❤ Tao is not only supporting Charlie as much as he can, but is there to support Nick when Charlie can’t do it himself. Ngl, I am real critical of Tao lots of the time but you can’t deny his friendship. I also think he learned A LOT by being called out on his behavior towards his friends after he was doing the exact same thing he tore Charlie up for. Elle was so real for that.

I was continually amused, throughout the run of the series, how bent out of shape some viewers got over some plot points. The gross aspects of the hazing is a prime example. Rather than simply going with the flow of the story, some people insisted on fighting against it. In an early interview Lisa Ambjörn (creator and head writer) points out, "Everything in the script is there for a reason." Lisa writes like she is composing a symphony. Chords struck at one point in the story, I guarantee, will resolve at some later time. Even the goldfish echo. I don't know how much of the full series you have watched at this point so I won't spoil. But the spit is, "there for a reason." I was really pleased, by the way, that you caught that the swap on the couch of Wille and his brother in episode 1 was more that a trivial detail.
