    Old Testament civil laws are not equivalent to the moral law. They are motivated by the moral law, but they are also shaped by pragmatic concerns. That's true for all governmental laws. That is why Moses wrote it for the hardness of their hearts. For example, common law marriage provisions today do not imply that the govt is taking a moral position on living in sin. Therefore, the civil law provisions in the Old Testament must not be equated with the moral law, but rather they should be seen as trying to reduce immorality. Deut 24 prohibited returning to the first husband bc, if that wasn’t prohibited, the legal framework could be legally abused to permit wife swapping, prostitution, and polyandry. Moses was saying, I will let you divorce and remarry, but i will put some limits to mitigate the evil that will result.

    Remarriage after a divorce is not allowed just because of ignorance. Once we know the truth of a matter, we must abide by what GOD says. When we come face to face with any of our sin, we must stop doing it. Those who married after a divorce must repent. I know it's a hard thing but it is the right thing to do. John the Baptist knew enough about it because he told Harod to leave his brother's wife. I believe that adultery is the greatest sin in the church today.

I demonstrate how God's moral law is the representation of His unchanging character and how He cannot call something which is not only a sin but an abomination, out of one side of his mouth something and then call it "holy" out of the other, and you delete my comment or block it? Just because your sect doest want to see this? That is dishonest! That iw the same response I get when I challenge heretics of the denial of original sin and open theism!

    Wow you blew my mind and not in a good way! For you to say at the end of this video that God’s grace will allow you to stay in an adulterous remarriage pretty much erased everything you said before that. What a hypocritical statement. A gay couple doesn’t stay together when they repent and decide to follow Christ, they end the abominable relationship!

    You contradicted yourself. God's word specifically says, the only time a person is able to remarry is through death. When they are widowed. Even then they would have to marry someone who has NEVER been married before or another widower.

    Great exposition. The 'exception clause' ('porneia') also refers to invalid marriages like incest (Lev.18), forced or child marriages or polygamy. In such cases, 'remarriage' is allowed since there was never a marriage in God's sight and there is strictly no 'remarriage'.

    1:21 Allowance to remarry while the adulterous spouse still lives, depends on which Bible you are subject to. If it's the KJV, then yes, because the one that has committed adultery (just once) is wicked, (1 Cor 5:13 kjv) and has become, through that deed... a child of the devil. 1 John 3:9-10 kjv If you're reading a modern Bible per-version, well then no.. you're stuck with that. This is a great message. Sadly this message is not being preached in some of our churches today. When I was growing up, my former pastors never married anyone who was divorced. If Jesus said it and the scripture shows it, why are some churches not following this? Definitely we will be accountable. My husband and I had many struggles in the past and we thank God He kept our marriage for 48 years. We know God’s word and we live by what He says. I pray that many will to that understanding that marriage is a covenant.

You have to go through an incredible amount of mental gymnastics to say that remarrying is not allowed after adultery.

    So God gives grace to people who are in a second marriage for any reason so they can stay in that second marriage and have a family but if a spouse was abandoned by their first spouse and their first spouse forced a no fault divorce on them with no biblical grounds just because they changed their minds and now the spouse is in another relationship immediately following the divorce the spouse that didn’t want the divorce and has remained faithful is not extended the grace to ever have a family because the innocent spouse watched a video seeking the truth before making a decision. That’s doesn’t really seem like the same kind of Grace.

    So im confused, you can remarry if your partner is dead. So since murder is a sin and can be forgiven by God through the blood of Jesus, you are better off murdering your spouse and getting remarried than to divorce them and live in perpetual, unforgivable sin? Isnt this similar to what King David did?

  • @misst8508

    So, many so called pastors leading their flock to hell..and you will have to answer for all the souls that will be lost due to your false teaching.. A man that divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery..and a man that marries a divorced woman commits adultery.. It's clear and there's no way around it..if you are the 1st wife & the 1st husband in a marriage..it's til DEATH due US part..God only honors & favours the convenant in the 1st marriage.. Any marriage after that while the spouse is still living..is not a convenant..

    Sadly, this speaker, after giving many reasons why remarriage is adultery, then effectively tosses it all out the window and says but no worries, keep on sinning. Voddie Baucham and John Piper do the same with slight differences in how they get there. This turns the core doctrine of repentance requiring turning from sin on its head. If I rob 5 banks and repent after each job, am I entitled to the loot from the robberies? Call me cynical but I suspect the real motivation of these guys who do these theological contortions to justify accepting adultery in the church is to keep their churches together and keep the money coming. They ignore 1 Cor. 5: 9-13 because they know thousands of churches would be ripped apart if they obeyed it. True, but that is not God's fault. They straddle both sides of the fence, to appear super committed to the scriptures but also super loving and caring. Promises made? The Jews took an oath to not rest til they killed the apostle Paul. You say, ' but that was a promise to do something wrong'-- so is a promise to be faithful to a second wife. The speaker admits that. I take an oath the rob a bank to get money to help my destitute mother avoid losing her house. It tugs on the heart strings, for sure, but should I keep the promise?

    Forgive my ignorance.... I agree with everything you said until about the end and I may be wrong. So if a man goes out and remarries and starts a new family because he doesn't know the one flesh Scripture, and the wife who was left behind does know the Scripture is she supposed to not get married because she's still bound to this man who you're saying that he should stay in his second marriage. So she needs to sit there and suffer and be bound to a man who left her in the dust while the new marriage is being honored??? Someone please advise!!!!!

    This message was going really well until nearing the end when he said that a remarried couple can remain . If remarriage is adultery for some, it is adultery for everyone. What is the point of the whole message? The marriage covenant does not end when a couple divorces. The vows stand until death. Remarriage is adultery as the speaker had acknowledged beforehand. And if it is adultery , the marital vows of the first marriage remains until death whether together or separated.

    • @eruiz1180
      @eruiz1180 5 месяцев назад

      @@lizcutajar9352 Is not about a rule, of this... In case of that. You focuse on the rule and the letter but not the spirit of the letter. In God's word he sees the divorce, his heart is broken by it and our heart should be too. You can't apply this to every ethical situation. There is sin involved and lives. Of course that is not the ideal it is never the ideal that's why the Lord is strong in his word about it. But the application of it is the area we have to understand. In Deuteronomy the Lord doesnt provide a rule for divorce nor is saying that it is just, of course is not divorce is sinful. But there is also a principle. The second marriage is is still a marriage. Every person in their situation must seek the Lord and ask for direction. The exception clause we don't want it to be an exception, makes all clear cut and dry, but it is not like that. The betrothal view is very weak standing by itself it doesn't hold much water. It reduces everything to a technicality I am of the opinion Jesus was referring nto something dipper and really devastating that porneia does. Also divorce is always mentioned in the context of remarriage. I am just giving you my opinion based on the Bible and the message of the gospel. This topic affect people living in different experiences and everyone have a view more or less based on their situation. See how many views are that even within your own opinion range there are differences. Crust said we should be perfect, are you? How can this be? It is in heart not in a track record, your works alone are nothing the Lord wants. If you by faith believe you must stay single and that is going to contribute to your sanctification let it be so. But be careful to use it as a moral ground to point to other saints. I am not divorced or remarried just trying to learn. God bless the meditation nof our hearts.

OBVIOUSLY Jesus did not expect Pastors to pluck out their eyes for their porn indulgences. This is an example of turning the impossible demands of perfection by Jesus into Law.
