    Is the retouch done with charcoal pencil? What is the difference between exposing the paper with an already pigmented emulsion and painting the paper after the exposure? Amazing job!

    • @stephanenoelartist-photogr931
      @stephanenoelartist-photogr931 3 года назад

      It is done with pastel pencil. No difference, same process as it is a multi layers process. You do the same a few times. First paint a layer, let it dry, expose, etc...

    Do you always expose your emulsion to so much light when you’re coating and drying your paper, or is this only for the video?

    Thanks for sharing this video. Great work! I've 2 questions to you. 1) Do you expose the image again and again for each layer? or you just apply the mixture and erase it. 2) Do you use same mixture (bichromate+gum arabic) for 2nd layer onwards? or you just use pigment after 1st layer.

      check with your local specialty print shops. big negatives are specially made. unless you have the money to buy the top of the line printers by Epson or Canon.

    • @martinyanus
      @martinyanus 10 лет назад

      stephane noel photographer In order to make paper more resistant many gum printers size it, often with gelatine and alum or formaldehyde. The question was how you do it.

    • @stephanenoelartist-photogr931
      @stephanenoelartist-photogr931 10 лет назад

      martinyanus in my case I don't do anything like that. I just wet the paper and make it dry on all the sizes. so after it doesn't move too much when the temperature or the humidity change.
