Im an ex British army veteran. My old regiment had 29 different nationalities and every single soldier male & female were treated with respect. The minute you put a British Army uniform on you are British regardless of skin colour, religious beliefs, you become part of a family & institution thats been going for over 400 years.

@trevgoodwin7900 0 seconds ago I live in Manchester where there is a statue of Abraham Lincoln, Manchester and Lancashire were the biggest producers of cotton fabric in the world, when the cotton mill workers found out the raw cotton was picked by slaves, they went on strike and said "we're not using cotton picked by slaves!!" this caused the people much hardship as no work no pay! and in recognition of the Mill workers protest, Abraham Lincoln sent a letter thanking them for their support, the letter resides in the Town Hall. You seem to forget about white British soldiers and civilians who joined the black soldiers.

Whites at the time were very naive they had little or no negative experience of blacks that would change when large scale immigration occurred now very few whites would be so trusting also my father worked on American bases on build up to D day and when two black troops raped and murdered a white girl the paratroopers lynched them that was the end of the honeymoon 🤔

Imagine Americans thinking they could come here and tell us what to do in our lands 😂. Nah bro, Black troops only!❤

The US authorities demanded the local pubs at Bamber bridge provide segregation. So they obliged with 'black troops only' signs in their windows. US Miltary police tried to arrest a black soldier for improper dress and there was resistance. Later more US MPs tried to arrest black soliders and one was shot dead. This led to the misunderstanding by the black solidiers back at the base that the US MPs were out to kill them and they armed themselves with a gun fight ensuing. Today the blacks that are in Britain shout racial prejudice etc all the time and point out how in the 60s boarding houses had signs in their windows that said 'No blacks, No Irish, No dogs'. You have to ask yourself what changed, what was different?

There are so many similar stories of white Americans beating up Black Americans and British citizens stepping in on the side of Black soldiers. It happened in my local pub during the war. The white American soldiers were banned from entry.

I think outreach is so powerful and very necessary. I think one of the hardest things as myself a black, gay man is interacting with the services. There seems to be a lack of interaction until you’re at critical mass. Meaning you absolutely and utterly need them. This is incredibly problematic, because many times individuals are unaware of how to get there when they are in this critical stage

At the end of the day, there may never be any reconciliation and you have to be OK with that. I think people want things closed up in a nice tight bow but that’s just not the way things go.

Its about culture. Specifically black culture. Even more specifically, hip hop/gang culture. The vast majority of gun violence is due to gang related nonsense and black kids emulating hip hop culture.

It’s nothing to do with a gun and everything to do about culture and the lack of father figures inside the homes
