Ashley Sisco

Добавлен 30 мар 2009
Documenting my journey to my most authentic self-navigating life, growth, and creativity-with the hope of inspiring and connecting with others along the way.
Hi, I’m Ashley (but most call me Sisco) and this is my raw, unfiltered journey into self-expression and personal growth. After years of overcomplicating things, I’m finally ripping the Band-Aid and creating this space to share my thoughts, perspectives, and commitment to authenticity. From mindset shifts to overcoming perfectionism, I’m here to honor my energy, recover from burnout, and make space for introspection and growth.
If you’re exploring self-improvement, embracing your true self, or just tired of the pressure to be perfect, you’re in the right place. Let’s talk about honoring life cycles, building community, removing our masks, and making forward progress-because done is better than perfect, and we all deserve to grow.
I’m so glad you’re here.

not my new year
January 1 is not my new year. I'm a spring-equinox-is-my-new-year kind of gal.
Join me as I walk around aimlessly through my yard complaining about the Gregorian calendar, feeding my chickens, and talking about hibernating and cuddling by fires with a blanket instead of going to the gym.

02:08 more walking and talking

In this video, I’m diving into the importance of setting boundaries and letting go of commitments, people, and things that don’t align with your goals or the life you want to create. Over the summer, I hit a breaking point with reselling online and at festivals-it left me completely burnt out. This video marks the moment I finally allowed myself to loosen the grip on that part of my identity and business. Originally filmed back in July (and thought to be lost forever!), I recently rediscovered this footage and realized just how far I’ve come since then. It’s a snapshot of a...

embrace your inner beginner - allow yourself to suck at first

All the "dead" stuff, the leaves, the brown grass, the old branches (when nature prunes itself) are all stuff that breaks down and eventually feeds the very stuff it fell off of! If that same idea gets worked into "life" its sorta cool to think about. All the "old me's" that we shed dont go away but they change from something beautiful into a mess that grows something beautiful, when we process those times in our lives, the "old me's", honestly with ourselves, we inevitably grow from small "realizations" about certain stuff.... and come out beautiful again in a new way. IDK. Just a thought...
Obsessed with that way of looking at it! 🥹😍 This is exactly why I don’t allow myself to have regrets. Everything that has happened “to me” has really just happened “for me” and I wouldn’t be where I am now if not for all the old mes that have had to die and be born again. Life is a beautiful journey and little mindset shifts like that can make all the difference in the world.
Youre so right! Never thought about it that way. I’ve always hated the forced new year resolutions when you’ve barely just gotten over the christmas period and you just wanna have peace 😅😂 Spring is definitely the time for that ❤️ Omg yayyy the chickens 😍
Exactly! And it honestly kinda ties into the video you made talking about all the headache and pressure that the holidays cause. Like sheesh let us recover first! 😅
Liked, subscribed & commented.(; Nice worrkkk!
Thanks! I appreciate you!! 💖
Is that a nail clipper youre using to hold your mic? 😂 Thank you for sharing and well done for resting and listening to your body and brain ❤ it definitely takes unlearning certain habits and societal pressures engrained in us all :/
Hahaaaa yes it is. 😅 I was so beat that I reached for the closest thing I could find that would serve the purpose of being my mic. I very much needed that rest. Even after I recorded this video I STILL had my brain trying to battle my body. Such a hard mindset to unlearn. Baby steps!
so many people need to hear this! i am now a 24 year old and until I was 23 my dream was to work at a bank just like my parents and basically live glamorously. but as time passed i realized how empty this dream when my internship at a bank was terminated. I spent a year at home looking for a new job but in this year I noticed how this life wasn’t what I really wanted. what i wanted was basically to spend the day cooking, working out, taking walks and be away from technology. The next year I got a really good job (we all need money after all), and now working at this new job I moved from a small apartment to a new house and oh my God, how good it is to just exist! go on walks, bathe in the sun, have a dog, bake… I believe true happiness comes from these things, and I think that’s what everyone should strive for. This peace, this REAL life. Anyway, thanks for the videos!
Squeeeee!!!! I LOVE hearing people's "waking up" stories!!! So happy and excited for you! What a beautiful life you have created and allowed for yourself! 😍
A great book that helped me a lot with this is "Stop People Pleasing and Find Your Power" by Hailey Magee. Touches on a lot of things that you mentioned in this video!
@@shiryoaoii thank you for the rec!! Just added to my list 😃
Thank you for posting this, I feel so seen but also inspired to embrace being a beginner again.
I'm so glad!! 😍🤗
Mm. I've had the opposite problem in my life. Always super chill. My quest has been getting to a point where I want to do things for myself and be productive and get stuff done. One small step for me, one giant leap for my inner child.
@@CRAIGMASTER2 I feel that. I have a super hard time self motivating pretty much every day. But some days like today I just can’t even force myself to do anything at all.
@ I imagine it was a lot to process Things will work out even if they take a different route
This was me today too I had plans to be productive but was feeling a lot with the fires and just heavy energy. Not as productive for sure. But I have to remember it’s ok to rest. This is the season of rest. I’m so sorry about your cat babe. Sending you love. Thanks for all your realness
Thank you!! I hope you got some good snow day rest! 🤍
Looove your videos and authenticity ✨
Thanks! I really appreciate that. I’m looking forward to seeing more of yours as well!!

First for once This topic is something I started trying to change a couple months ago. If you have time for reading or audiobooks check out Seat of the Soul by Gary Zukav Also you sound so much like a counselor 😆
@@CRAIGMASTER2 I’ll add it to my list!! I listen to audiobooks often :) Haha 😆
❤ PS. Dad is a G with the healthy stuff too
That he is 😅 Steady layin down the wisdom.
You just said it Ash,what if psychology is where you need to be!! Go back to school honey pot 🍯 Once you’re done there you can work from home at your own pace/time while making big bucks while still doing all the other things you love to do!! I love this new you,breath…-Dj’s mom❤️
@@msbutterfly2451 Aw I appreciate you. 🥰 And while yes I’ve always loved psychology, I will say that I’ll never ever enroll in a school again. There are too many free resources in the world, plus I have zero desire to do so. 😅 College is an overpriced lie and a trap 🪤
It really is I’m still paying on a school loan!! It SUCKS!!

Thank y'all so much for being here! It means so much to me.
as a twenty year old that's learning how to balance the tailend of a very tumultuous adolescence, i really appreciate your authenticity. it's refreshing to listen to someone a bit wiser share their experiences of learning how to be a human. sending love to you and your chickens<3
Wow thank you so much! I value authenticity above all else, honestly. I remember going through such a whirlwind of trying to be myself while feeling like I was something else and the internal tug-of-war that that caused - esp in my early 20s. I’m really proud of you for grabbing your life by the reigns instead of becoming a victim to your past. You’re already wayyy ahead of most!
This is great ❤
Aw thanks! I appreciate you being here! Congrats on ripping the bandaid and uploading your first video!!! 🎉
@@siscodiscoAwh thanks! ❤
say your words! fantastic video :^)
Thank you! 🤗😍
You might want to try Bupropion instead of Adderall since I know you said you have a dopamine deficiency. I'm on it and it's been a life changer
I'll run that by my psychiatrist and see what she thinks! Thanks for the rec!
16:16 bruh moment. Why didn't you make it in psychology? I'm planning on doing psychiatry for the same exact reason.
I dropped out of college after my freshman year. Couldn’t force myself to do it. Never stopped learning about psychology though. It’s my fave.
Maybe I should start making videos so I don't have to just talk to the wind
Do it!! It’s super cathartic 😝
Have you had an inner monologue all your life?
As far back as I can remember, yeah. Pretty constant.
Also, what music?
@@CRAIGMASTER2 I love lots and lots of music, but the community I was immersed in for the better part of the last decade was the underground bass music “EDM” scene.
@ yeah funny you mention it I got into it at the end of covid and am now starting to realize it's not really my personality anymore. I used to be the guy who knew all the releases and new artists... This year will be my first year not going to lost lands since 2022. My connection with one of my best friends is feeling like it may drift apart cause he's still locked in to the fests and shows. I still have a few shows lined up and one or two local fests but I just don't want it to be my whole life anymore. I have a lot of merch to sell :/
@@CRAIGMASTER2 did you watch my video literally talking about exactly this. 🤯 I posted it Jan 1. I’m in the exact same boat with some of my best friends that haven’t slowed down in over a decade. It just isn’t sustainable.
@@CRAIGMASTER2 I never made it to lost lands. Did oodles of others. But I too prefer the small homie fests over anything now. If I go at all. Though we may do Hula this year bc we haven’t been since 2017 and it isn’t too far from us.
@@siscodisco yeah I did I think I watched all of them cause it was all pretty relatable
Do you know anything about MBTI? Do you know yours?
@@CRAIGMASTER2 yes yes of course 😅 I used to always get ENFP, but as I’ve gotten older (and removed lots of masks), I’ve shifted to INFP.
@@siscodisco I used to get ENFP as a teen. Now I get INFJ. But I think doing certain things recreationally along with some trauma at the same time changed my personality a bit
@ I absolutely relate to recreational things helping morph a lot of my personality, as well.
@ I’m actually curious to see if I’ve shifted types again. Might have to take the test again tomorrow. It’s been ages since I have.
It does feel good to start tapping into the real you
It’s simultaneously the best feeling and the most terrifying 😄
A really good commentary especially about learning to say no when you don't have the energy, which used to give me a lot of guilt but now I recognize that I can give more and show up more when I say no on the days when I would be normally pushing myself
Saying no based on my energy has been one of my biggest takeaways from this last year. I haven't perfected it, but I'm doing way better honoring my energy now than ever before. Game changer. Def working on the negative self talk aspect in response to doing so now, haha. Thank you so much for the comment! Happy New Year!
Life is chess. When watching a chess match from the outside, every move seems obvious. But when you’re playing, pressure clouds your vision. Remove that pressure, and you’ll see the game clearly. Extra long comment to boost engagement, hope this channel does well.
Such a good analogy! It's so true. Thanks so much for the alg boost! Means a lot to my lil baby channel ❤
If someone told me "you've changed", my first thought would be "gOD i hope so!!!"
@@blancadiaz7622 Right?! Like thank god. 😆
I enjoy that you’re so authentic online. It is helpful for people with similar brains (like me)! Also so off topic of the video but you look so beautiful and your skin is giving fresh!
I appreciate that! Authenticity is definitely my highest ranking value. And thank you! This was in July, so I had a slight lil sunkiss back then haha.

Thank you, friend!!! Love you so much <3
Yes, exactly this. Shai Lebeouf. And if you can't find your community, build it.
that's been such a hard one for me lately - outgrowing friends is hard
Who can relate to this?? 😅 If you can, hopefully you find some consolation in knowing you aren’t alone.
